Who is Going Up in the Rapture?
“Those who are in the flesh can’t please God. But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if it is so that the Spirit of God dwells in you. But if any man doesn’t have the Spirit of Christ, he is not his.” (Romans 8:8-9 WEB)
When Jesus sent the Holy Spirit to begin indwelling the redeemed saints, the Spirit started to go into every believer and merge with their reborn human spirits.
When the Rapture happens, Jesus will receive those who have the Spirit in them, back to Himself.
Some people would have you believe that you can miss the Rapture if you are not watchful, and if you become worldly, or if you sin, or if you don’t pray enough, etc.
Such teachings are used to scare people into holy living, but it only produces the opposite effect. People put on an appearance of holiness in public, but they are self-condemned and fearful in private, causing them to be trapped in cycles of habitual sin.
Fear of punishment can never empower you to live a holy life. This kind of fear that dishonors Jesus’ finished work at the cross comes from the flesh, and it will produce sinful actions, just like how Adam and Eve hid from God because they were afraid.
It is not those who walk extra holy that will be worthy of going up in the Rapture. You will not be left behind if you are already a believer.
The only criteria to be enraptured is that you must have the Holy Spirit in you.
When Jesus calls for His bride, only those with the indwelling Spirit will be transformed and caught up to meet Him in the air.
If you have the Holy Spirit in you, it means that your spirit is so righteous, pure, blameless, and holy that it can be a permanent dwelling place for the Spirit of God. The apostle Paul said that a believer’s body is a temple of the Holy Spirit. You are clean enough to house God inside you!
Believers need to hear how righteous they have become in Christ. When they believe that they are righteous, they will have faith to trust God and expect His grace to operate in their lives. Through faith, the righteous spirit will be able to bring the sinful flesh into submission. This is what empowers them to live a righteous life that glorifies God.
When listening to teachings about the Rapture, take care that they are not those that produce a dreadful fear of punishment in you. You should be filled with excitement and hope instead because that will be the day of your bodily salvation!
Keep studying God’s word and growing in your understanding of His ways. Our Patreon community is currently on a Bible study series called “My Faith Declarations” which looks at the Spirit-inspired utterances of the authors of the Psalms. They wrote about the trials and tribulations they experienced, so the book of Psalms is very relatable.
By turning their faith declarations into our own, we can learn how to overcome similar circumstances in life through faith in the Lord! Fullness of Joy
“Preserve me, God, for in you do I take refuge. My soul, you have said to Yahweh, “You are my Lord. Apart from you I have no good thing.” As for the saints who are in the earth, they are the excellent ones in whom is all my delight.
Their sorrows shall be multiplied who give gifts to another god. Their drink offerings of blood I will not offer, nor take their names on my lips. Yahweh assigned my portion and my cup. You made my lot secure.
The lines have fallen to me in pleasant places. Yes, I have a good inheritance. I will bless Yahweh, who has given me counsel. Yes, my heart instructs me in the night seasons. I have set Yahweh always before me. Because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved. Therefore my heart is glad, and my tongue rejoices. My body shall also dwell in safety. For you will not leave my soul in Sheol, neither will you allow your holy one to see corruption. You will show me the path of life. In your presence is fullness of joy. In your right hand there are pleasures forever more.” (Psalms 16:1-11 WEB)
Are you wondering who is “Yahweh”? This English rendering comes from the four Hebrew letters, yud hei vav hei, which spell the name of the triune Godhead. When pronounced in Hebrew, it would sound like “Yahweh”.
Whenever Bible translations put “LORD” in all capital letters, it indicates that they had swapped the original yud hei vav hei for LORD.
When you call “LORD”, no one knows which one you are addressing, but thankfully many portions of Scripture in the original Hebrew language makes it clear that when you put your trust in Yahweh, you will be saved.
Before Christ came to earth as a man with the name Jesus, salvation was received by placing one’s faith in the name of Yahweh.
Just as we are saved by believing and confessing Jesus (Yeshua) as our Lord today, our predecessors who lived before Christ was born were saved by believing and confessing Yahweh as their Lord.
It has always been salvation by grace through faith, for no one can earn salvation through works.
When you read the beautiful passage above, what especially jumps out at you? For me, it is that in God’s presence is fullness of joy.
It seems like many people are bound by wrong believing, such that they are afraid of God, and they pray with a ‘feeling not good enough’, fearing and trembling attitude.
They don’t have the revelation like David does. No wonder God called David “a man after My own heart”. David understood God’s love and grace, even though he was a man who lived under the dispensation of the Law. Yet, he had a personal relationship with God that allowed him to see the heart of God.
Think about it—everything that gives you true pleasure in this world, didn’t God create them? He is the Creator who makes things that bring joy and pleasure, for He is full of joy and every good thing.
When you pray, envision a happy God who is smiling and excited to hug you and bless you with good things.
““He arose, and came to his father. But while he was still far off, his father saw him, and was moved with compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.” (Luke 15:20 WEB)
Never has Abba God been depicted to be in a hurry, except in Jesus’ parable of the prodigal son. The only time He runs is to hug and kiss His wayward son who has returned home. He runs to show you that He loves you.
Wrong believing causes us to run in the opposite direction, afraid that He is in a hurry to punish us for our sins.
Why don’t you run into your loving heavenly Father’s arms today? Thank Him for His grace, love, favor, and blessings. Experience the fullness of joy in His presence and pleasures in His right hand forevermore!

Get More Done Through God-Directed Rest
“He said, “Lord Yahweh, how will I know that I will inherit it?” He said to him, “Bring me a heifer three years old, a female goat three years old, a ram three years old, a turtledove, and a young pigeon.” He brought him all these, and divided them in the middle, and laid each half opposite the other; but he didn’t divide the birds. The birds of prey came down on the carcasses, and Abram drove them away. When the sun was going down, a deep sleep fell on Abram. Now terror and great darkness fell on him...It came to pass that, when the sun went down, and it was dark, behold, a smoking furnace, and a flaming torch passed between these pieces. In that day Yahweh made a covenant with Abram, saying, “I have given this land to your offspring, from the river of Egypt to the great river, the river Euphrates: the Kenites, the Kenizzites, the Kadmonites, the Hittites, the Perizzites, the Rephaim, the Amorites, the Canaanites, the Girgashites, and the Jebusites.”” (Genesis 15:8-12, 17-21 WEB)
In the passage above, Abram was getting ready to make a covenant with the Lord. He was doing a good job chasing away the birds who wanted to eat the carcasses needed for the covenant.
But the Lord saw that Abram was trying his best by his own efforts, and put him to sleep.
Subsequently, the Lord made Abram the beneficiary of the covenant, while He became the only one responsible to fulfill all the terms of the covenant.
Abram, a fallible mere mortal, would never have become the heir of the world if he had insisted on fulfilling the covenant by his own efforts. It can only be possible through God alone.
Sometimes you want to stay awake and handle things by yourself, trying to do your best.
But suddenly, God forces you to sleep. Whatever situation you’re facing that seems like ‘forced sleep’, don’t fight against it—just rest.
God knows that you are overworked and overloaded. You need a break and to receive true rest from Him. It is the time to double up on feeding on the Gospel of the Grace of Christ.
You may be thinking, “I can’t rest now! There’s so many things waiting for me to complete. If I don’t do it, no one else will!”
Be assured that while you are resting by receiving God’s word, God is at work for your good.
Hearing the Gospel is never wasted time. In fact, it is the power of God unto your salvation from all troubles.
Your God is arranging things in your favor, preparing people to help you, and when you are ready, He gives you the power, anointing and wisdom to do double or more of the same amount of work in less time, with a renewed restfulness and ease.
You will get more done when you make time for this God-directed rest!
I wrote a Patreon Bible Study series called “The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob” which is a study of almost the whole book of Genesis, focusing on the patriarchs of our faith, and how God’s power and grace shone forth in their lives.
We are called “Abraham’s offspring” and blessed with believing Abraham, so we need to learn about this man’s life to understand how to inherit these blessings.
You will receive this Bible Study series immediately when you become a “God Every Morning” (GEM) tier or above patron on Patreon.
You will also receive rewards like daily devotionals to your email, daily Bible study teachings via the patron WhatsApp chat group, access to an archive of 600+ devotionals, and all my eBooks. Thank you for being a blessing to this ministry: http://Patreon.com/miltongohblog
