Lai Yee's Kitchen- Pandan Chicken Mel's style

Thailand again. We can never get enough of Thailand and their food.
Today I want to challenge myself to make my very first pandan chicken.
It turns out to be quite "pro" .. What I will do next time is to make the chicken thiner and slightly longer and roll up a little before I wrap with the pandan leaf. Definitely not in a big chunk size. That way all the flavours and marination will be in between the meat and It will make the chicken more juicy and flavourful.

Ingredients (enough for 6 of us):
. Pandan leaves around 20 to 30 leaves
. 1 kg chicken fillets
. oil for deep frying

For the marination:
. 5 cloves garlic
. 2 cm turmeric (Typo in my video -Oops!)
. 3 tbsp lemongrass
. 5 shallots
. 5 cm ginger (I didn't have fresh ginger and I used powder
. around 10 white peppercorns
. 2 tbsp soy sauce
. 2 tbsp oyster sauce
. 1 tbsp Tamarind juice
. 2 tbsp palm sugar or brown sugar
. 2 tbsp coconut milk
. 2 tbsp white sesame
. 1 tbsp sesame oil
. 4 coriander roots
* Blend all to a smooth paste.
* It was not funny, I accidentally deleted a part of my video and cant find it back.. So my video didnt have some of the ingredients in the clip. Apology!
* Add-on : If I am not cooking for the kids, I will add on chili to be grinded together.

For the dipping ingredients :
. 3 cut chili padi
. 3 tbsp cut shallots
. 2 tsp fish sauce
. 1 tbsp soy sauce
. 5 lime juice
. chopped coriander (I didnt show in video)
* Mix up and serve

It was so good though. I wonder if I can make a tom yam flavour version. I will definitely try soon. What is next for Thai food?

校長、師長、家長，和在螢幕前難以置信這就是我們的畢典，卻也真實面對的所有臺大畢業生，大家好，我是政治學系四年級的林語萱。

比起說著我們會鵬程萬里、前程似錦，今天，我更想邀請各位一同擔任NTU Sweety Course的貢獻者，整理出綜合過去四年，且能帶著走出校園的三個成長學分：勇氣、彈性和自己。

大二上，我休了學，在零下三十幾度的低溫、強颱般的逆風和看不見天際線的白色大地中，越野滑雪了半個多月，只為了跟著亞洲第一支南極長征隊伍，在世界的盡頭，找到那個能夠超越極限的自己。參與這個計畫，或許是大多人眼中的不正常，然而它卻成為了我人生中最有收穫的選擇之一。相信在臺大這個充滿可能性的校園裡，許多人心中，也有這麼一個想征服的南極，它可能不怎麼正常，也不怎麼容易，但別忘了帶著勇氣這個學分去做、去闖你認爲是對的事物。

再來，還有個學分，叫做彈性。還記得那些腳踏車被水源阿伯給拖吊，只好改成走路或騎Ubike2.0的日常嗎？我們在一次又一次的校內小組合作、校外的家教實習中，反覆上著適應不同情況的實驗課，而疫情又加重了它的loading，原本以為上一屆已經夠慘，沒想到這一屆竟然還更糟的情況下，我們滾動式的調整上課的樣貌，努力用NTU Cool的1.5倍速上課。在唯一不變就是變的這個世間常態中，臺大教會了我們保持彈性的生存之道。

最後，最最重要的學分，是我們自己，沒錯，就是在螢幕前的每一個你你你。從大一忙碌於轉系和雙主修的菜鳥，變成焦慮著左右張望他人下一步的大四老人，我們總汲汲營營的害怕落後別人，擔心無法成為自己心中想成為的樣子，但當回過頭，騎過幾千次椰林大道後的我們，其實早已不是從前那個自己了。所以未來，當外界的環境，督促和逼迫著我們精益求精，好還要更好時，記得回到內心，聽聽它的聲音，由它來告訴我們：你不必成為誰，你只需要相信自己。

除了勇氣、彈性和自己這三個學分外，還有一張加簽單也別忘記，是一路陪伴我們的家人和師長，一個人的任性，需要很多人的愛才能夠成全，謝謝你們在成長路上的陪伴和鼓勵，我們才能夠放肆的任性。

最後的最後，我想起了一戰後的西班牙大流感，它帶走的生命比戰爭還多，但在時間洪流下也終究有結束的一天。誰知道一百多年後的今天，我們也被迫參與了歷史的進程。也許未來看似困難重重，但卡繆在瘟疫裡提醒了我們：「惟有甘願在困難的堅實土壤中去生根立足，才能夠獲得果實。」今天後的明日，我們將在不同的土壤中勇敢挑戰、彈性應對和相信自己，且帶著滿滿的愛去生根立足，為自己、為我們所身處的社會，產出最甜美的果實。準備好了嗎？讓我們一起推動歷史的進程吧！臺大109屆的畢業生們，畢業快樂，或許現在的我們無法面對面相聚，but I’ll see you down the road！謝謝大家。

President Kuan, respected faculty, honored guests and family, and to my fellow NTU graduates who would never have imagined our commencement hosted in this way but still making the best of it, good morning. I am YU-HSUAN LIN, from Department of Political Science.

Rather than wishing the best and the brightest futures to us all, today, I want to urge each and every one of you to join in and contribute to NTU Sweety Course, and put together three amongst the most important credits from these past four years. They are courage, elasticity, and ourselves.

I took a temporary leave in my sophomore year. At minus 30 degrees Celsius, with howling headwinds and blizzards all over the sky, I did cross-country skiing for more than half a month, to challenge myself beyond the limit at the very end of the world. My Antarctic venture may seem absurd to many, but it was one of the most rewarding things I’ve ever done in my life. At NTU, a campus of endless possibilities, we all have a South Pole in our hearts, an undoubtedly challenging and perhaps laughable goal we yearn to achieve. But do not forget the credit of courage we have gained from these past years, and choose whatever it is that you believe is right.

The next credit, is adaptability. Do you remember the days when our bikes being towed and having to walk or take Ubike 2.0 to class? We learned to adapt through group projects in the classes and private tutoring off-campus, and the ongoing pandemic has added extra loading to our everyday challenges. We thought the previous year was bad, but this year is even worse. We adjust the way we took courses on a rolling basis, trying to catch up from NTU COOL at 1.5x speed. The only thing that doesn't change is change itself. NTU taught us how to adapt to survive.

Last but not least, and arguably the most important credit, is ourselves. That’s right, It’s each and every one of you behind the screens. From a first-year newbie busy planning your double major or transfer, to a senior wandering around anxiously as our peers taking next steps, we work hard painstakingly in fear of falling behind of other, and wonder if we can become the person we want to be. But looking back, after countless rides along the Royal Palm Boulevard, our old selves have already long gone. So, in the future, when the outside world is constantly pushing us to make the best even better and to reach beyond limits, remember to listen to that little voice inside of you. Listen to it as it tells you, there isn’t a certain or definite role you must fulfill, all you need is to have faith in yourself.

Besides the three credits I just mentioned, don’t forget the Petition for Adding Course: our families and professors who accompanied us along our journeys. It requires loves from many to accomplish caprice of one. Thank you for your company and encouragement along the way to allow us to be self-willed boldly.

Lastly, the Spanish flu outbreak after WWI came to my mind recently. It took even more lives than the battle fields. However, it too, eventually ended as time went by. Who knew that after a hundred years, we would also be a part of a similar history? It seems that adversities are awaiting us, but Albert Camus had already reminded us in La Peste “Like wandering shadows that could have acquired substance only by consenting to root themselves in the solid earth of their distress.” When tomorrow comes, in different corners on the Earth, we shall challenge, respond adaptively, and believe in ourselves. With each step that we take, we take with all the love there is within us. Let us contribute to ourselves and to our society, and may our efforts bear the sweetest fruits. Are you ready? Let’s push history forward! Hats off to all NTU graduates of 2021! Although we are unable to celebrate face to face now, I’ll see you down the road! Thank you all!

Apa itu tathaiyur? Sebahagian orang mesti pernah melakukannya dan sebenarnya, bertathaiyur itu adalah syirik.

Contoh-contoh Tathaiyur:

– Tergigit lidah kononnya ada orang mengumpat hal kita.

– Kupu-kupu masuk rumah kononnya ada orang yang nak datang.

– Ambil gambar 3 orang kononnya salah satunya akan pendek umur. 😂(hakikatnya semua orang akan mati)… Dan ni antara yang femes…hahaha

– Keluar rumah terlupa sesuatu kononnya jangan patah balik kerumah atau sesuatu musibah akan berlaku.

– Rebus anak lesong, kononnya tolak hujan.

– TIdak dapat merasa sesuatu makanan kononnya jilat telapak jari supaya tidak kempunan.

– Diberak burung kononnya ada rezeki.

– Air minuman tumpah kononnya tiada rezeki.

– Sedang berbicara cicak berbunyi kononnya tanda perbualan itu benar.

– Menjamah makanan sebelum keluar rumah kononnya supaya tidak kempunan.

– Jumpa ular melintas di jalan, kononya ada sesuatu yang buruk berlaku hari itu.

– Mimpi berak, kononnya akan ditimpa sakit.

Kenapa dikatakan syirik? Jom baca.

“Dari Ibnu Mas’ud R.A berkata: Telah bersabda Rasulullah S.A.W : Bertathaiyur itu syirik, bertathaiyur itu syirik, dan tiada diantara kita yang tidak terlibat dengannya kecuali akan dijauhkan oleh Allah dengan bertawakkal”.

Bahaya At-Tathayyur…

“At-Tathaiyyur” dapat meniadakan “At-Tauhid” dari dua sisi:

1. Pelaku “At-Tathaiyyur” telah menghilangkan tawakkalnya kepada Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala, serta bersandar kepada selain Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala. Padahal Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala adalah satu-satunya tempat bergantung. Sebagaimana disebutkan dalam surah Al-Ikhlas ayat ke-2 (yang ertinya):
اَللّٰهُ الصَّمَدُ‌ ۚ
Allah tempat meminta segala sesuatu.
[QS. Al-Ikhlas: Ayat 2]

Dan perintah Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala:

فَاعْبُدْهُ وَتَوَكَّلْ عَلَيــــهِ

“Maka sembahlah Dia, dan bertawakkallah (hanya) kepada-Nya.” (Hud: 123)

2. Pelaku “At-Tathaiyyur” sesungguhnya bergantung kepada sesuatu yang tidak ada hakikatnya, bahkan hal itu hanya sebuah dugaan dan khayalannya sahaja (yang tidak layak untuk dijadikan tempat bergantung)

What is tathaiyur? Some people must have done it and actually, the bertathaiyur is shirk.

Examples of tathaiyur:

- got bitten by a tongue that someone is cursing our things.

- the butterfly in the house looks like someone is coming.

- taking a picture of 3 people is probably one of them will be short of age. 😂 (the truth is everyone will die)... and this is among the famous ones... hahaha

- out of the house forgot something don't break back home or something disaster will happen.

- boil the son of estate, supposedly reject the rain.

- can't feel something food is supposed to lick the palm so that it won't be cravings.

- a bird's being is supposedly to have sustenance.

- drink water is spilled, there is no provision.

- talking about a lizard sounds like the sign of the conversation is true.

- eating food before going out of the house so that it doesn't want to be craving.

- found a snake crossing the street, the the had something bad happened that day.

- dream of pooping, it seems to be hurt.

Why is it said to be Shirk? Let's read.

Ibn Masood (May Allah be pleased with him) said: the messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: the bird is a trap, the bird is a trap, and we are only of us but goes it

" from ibnu mas ' UD R. A said: the prophet s.a.w said: Bertathaiyur is Shirk, bertathaiyur is Shirk, and none of us are not involved with him except God will be kept away by his trust ".

Danger at-Tathayyur...

" At-Tathaiyyur " can negate " At-Tauhid " from two sides:

1. the perpetrators of "at-Tathaiyyur" have lost their faith in Allah subhanahu wa ta 'ala, and lean on other than Allah subhanahu wa ta' ala. Although Allah subhanahu wa ta ' ala is the only place to depend. As mentioned in Surah Al-Ikhlas the 2th verse (which means):
Allah is Samad.
Allah is the place to ask for everything.
[QS. Al-Ikhlas: Verse 2]

And the order of Allah subhanahu wa ta ' ALA:

Worship him and trust him

" then worship him, and worship him (only) to him." (HUD: 123)

2. Perpetrators of "at-Tathaiyyur" truly depend on something that is not in reality, even it is just a challenge and a imaginary (which is not worthy to be a place to depend)

I don't like to use embeds in soap because they drop during use. Since the salt will act the same, I only use a very simple recipe and not going to sell the soaps.
