My gu ma makes the best abacus yam seed (算盘子) in Singapore and I finally got a chance to learn the tips and tricks from her yesterday. Together with my aunties and cousin, we spent a good 3 hours making the abacus yam from scratch. From shredding to steaming to kneading to rolling to cooking... Oh man, such a good workout for me! I happily brought some abacus seeds home and stir fried it with mushrooms, black fungus, minced meat and cuttlefish. Really yummy! Yes, I will share the recipe on my website soon.
I styled my abacus yam seed with Corelle "Herb Garden" plate, the new collection of dinnerware is really pretty. Moving forward, I am in the midst of planning for my first ever Food Styling & Photography workshop. The thought of it already excites me, hopefully it will be on a regular basis.
