รายงานผลประกอบการของทาง Sony ในรอบเดือนกันยายนระบุว่า ในช่วงสามเดือนที่ผ่านมา เครื่อง PlayStation 4 มียอดส่งออกเพิ่มขึ้นประมาณ 1.5 ล้านเครื่อง ทำให้ในปีนี้มีการส่งออกเครื่อง PlayStation 4 เพิ่มขึ้นมาอีกเป็น 2.8 ล้านเครื่อง

ส่วนรายรับจากการขายเกมและการให้บริการผ่านระบบเครือข่าย Sony สามารถทำไปได้ถึง 2.5 พันล้านเยนจากยอดขาย และการจัดการรายรับในปีงบประมาณอีก 240 ล้านเยน รวมไปถึงมีผู้สมัครสมาชิก PlayStation Plus จนถึงช่วงสิ้นเดือนกันยายน 2020 นั้นมีจำนวนทั้งหมด 45.9 ล้านคน และยอดขายซอฟต์แวร์ของเกมในไตรมาสที่สองของปีงบประมาณก็อยู่ที่ 80.9 ล้านชุดด้วยกัน นับว่ายังคงมีการเติบโตอย่างต่อเนื่อง
