The business sector has always been the close partner of the Equal Opportunities Commission (“#EOC”). My appreciation goes to the employers which shows their serious support to the promotion of racial diversity in the workplace by signing The Racial Diversity & Inclusion Charter For Employers. These employers all concur with the nine goals set forth in the Charter as follows:
1. Implement racial equality and diversity policies for the organisation based on the principles of the Race Discrimination Ordinance (RDO) and the Code of Practice on Employment under the RDO.
2. Establish fair recruitment, appointment, promotion, staff development and dismissal processes and criteria that do not discriminate against any person or groups of persons on the ground of race.
3. Review the employment processes and policies regularly to ensure relevance, fairness and absence of barriers for people of all races.
4. Raise awareness of the policies and principles of racial inclusion and the consequences of racial discrimination among staff through training courses, awareness campaigns, sharing of good practices, events and award schemes.
5. Proactively encourage engagement with racial minorities from underprivileged and under-represented communities through recruitment as well as internship opportunities, on-the-job training, mentorship schemes and staff volunteering activities.
6. Provide a safe and collaborative work environment for all employees.
7. Make employees of all races feel involved and included by taking into account their particular needs, if any, in communication, policies and activities.
8. Have in place a formal grievance process for employees to report and receive redress for any discrimination, harassment or unfair treatment, whether to themselves or observed towards others.
9. Ensure grievances are dealt with swiftly, effectively and confidentially.
The EOC encourages more companies and organisations to sign the Charter and work closely with us by bringing the value of racial diversity and inclusion to every single workplace.

[時事英文] 到底是 「 All Lives Matter」還是 「 Black Lives Matter」?
All lives can only matter when black lives matter.
★★★★★★★★★★★★
《CNBC》報導:
Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos on Friday expressed support for the Black Lives Matter movement by posting an email exchange with an upset customer.
1. express support
2. the Black Lives Matter movement 「
3. an email exchange 通信
4. an upset customer
★★★★★★★★★★★★
In an Instagram post, Bezos posted a screenshot of an email from a customer who said it was “disturbing” and “offensive” that Amazon posted a message on its website in solidarity with the movement. The customer, whose name was blurred, wrote “ALL LIVES MATTER!”
5. post a screenshot
6. disturbing and offensive
7. in solidarity with 聲援⋯⋯;與⋯⋯一致
8. All lives matter.
★★★★★★★★★★★★
Critics of the Black Lives Matter movement often seek to counter the phrase by saying “all lives matter” or “blue lives matter,” referencing fallen police officers.
9. seek to counter
10. reference (v.) 論及
11. fallen police officers
★★★★★★★★★★★★
“I have to disagree with you,” Bezos replied.″
"'Black Lives Matter' doesn’t mean other lives don’t matter. Black lives matter speaks to racism and the disproportionate risk that Black people face in our law enforcement and justice system.”
12. speak to sth 談論…
13. a disproportionate risk
14. the law enforcement and justice system
★★★★★★★★★★★★
Unlike black parents, Bezos said, he will never have to worry that his son “might be choked to death while being detained one day.” He added that he supports the recent protests around police brutality.
“I want you to know I support this movement that we see happening all around us and my stance won’t change,” he added.
15. never have to worry about 永遠無須擔心⋯⋯
16. be choked to death
17. be detained
18. support the recent protest
19. police brutality
20. stance (n.)
1. All lives matter, not only black ones.
Of course all lives matter! We can address racial discrimination towards all races, poverty, injustice, and other social issues at any time, but the focus now is on the Black Lives Matter movement.
When there is intense public scrutiny of social issues, it gives governments the motivation and support they need to address these issues. Moreover, by focusing on Black Lives Matter at the moment, we are able to examine underlying factors such as wealth inequality, indirect discrimination, and other injustices, all of which affect all races! The Black Lives Matter movement calls attention to these underlying issues.
⊹⊹⊹⊹⊹⊹⊹⊹⊹⊹⊹⊹⊹⊹⊹⊹⊹
2. Discrimination and prejudice exist everywhere. Protesting will only make things worse.
Nearly all the rights we possess today are founded on the sacrifices of the generations before us through hundreds if not thousands of years of civil movements and reforms. Voicing injustice and grievances is an effective way to help our society become aware of social issues and take action. A recent example is the discrimination against Asian Americans in the US. If they had not spoken up against discrimination, there would not be sufficient public pressure to condemn those who wrongly pin the blame of the pandemic on them.
⊹⊹⊹⊹⊹⊹⊹⊹⊹⊹⊹⊹⊹⊹⊹⊹⊹
3. George Floyd had a criminal past. Why wasn’t this reported?
Video footage shows that Floyd was not behaving in a violent manner during his arrest, was not armed, and was not suspected of a violent crime. The claim that his criminal past was not reported is false as it was covered by the Guardian, NPR, and other press. Some news outlets might not have published this because past events have no bearing on how George Floyd was detained and treated. Some might also easily conflate these events and not focus on the current movement.
⊹⊹⊹⊹⊹⊹⊹⊹⊹⊹⊹⊹⊹⊹⊹⊹⊹
4. The government has not done anything wrong. Those who support the Black Lives Matter movement are condoning rioting and looting.
A democratic government exists to serve the people, but citizens in democracies must also agree to abide by the rules and obligations by which they are governed. Democracies grant many freedoms to their citizens, including the freedom to dissent and criticize the government.
When a government violates the fundamental human rights of its citizens, it is the civic responsibility of citizens to protest and redress these infringements and violations. Unfortunately, some are so frustrated with the inaction of the government that they will resort to violence to make themselves heard. There are also some who take the opportunity to benefit themselves through rioting and looting. Such actions should be condemned to the full extent of the law.
★★★★★★★★★★★★
It is common to base on our opinion of a complex issue on our own biases and tidbits of information provided by mainstream news outlets. However, for us to resolve any complex issue, we must seek to understand, analyze, and evaluate these issues in depth from multiple perspectives. While current social problems are difficult to solve, they present a chance for us to come together and change the world for the better!

Wow! So many comments and likes in only 17 hours! Thank you all for loving this song!
My purpose of producing this song is not only because of MCO trap us home or damn boring, the main reason is that I recently saw a lot of racism comments on the Internet. There are some extremists who say they hate Chinese because of the Covid-19 is a "Chinese" virus and all the problems were caused by Chinese… Hey! The virus is actually from China and nothing to do with local Chinese ok? Malaysia Chinese are not the same with those Chinese from Mainland China! WE DON’T EAT BAT! We only love BATMAN!
In addition, I’ve also seen many Chinese extreme racists who keep attacking all Muslim in Malaysia and mocking their religion because they think that this epidemic in Malaysia became serious is cause by the Muslim prayer gathering in Sri Petaling. I want to tell these extreme racists that we only have one common enemy, it’s COVID-19, not another races. The only person who loves playing with racial issues is those bad politicians, no one else! We should not be brainwashed and influenced by them.
I remembered that there is something that can unite everyone together, which is MUSIC! So I decided to make this song. I hope Malaysian OKLAH!!! Say NO to racism!

Lately topic of 疫苗 has been spreading all across the internet. 打or 不打: that is the question.
Whilst doing research I found a particular topic that was very interesting and I want to talk about it.
在usa racism and racial divide (分化) is a very strong debated topic.
Earlier because of a black man being Murdered in broad daylight it sparked ‘yuw行’ in many USA states.
如今related to 疫苗 so many conspiracy theories appeared. 美國的黑人community甚至西班牙community have conspiracy theories 出來, saying their 人種 is being used for 疫苗實yim.
This has two main supporting points
So it’s has been rumored to change the dna of certain races. 但最近 it’s been proven that unlike DNA, mRNA is single stranded 單鏈型狀細胞while DNA is double stranded 雙鏈型狀細胞. So it’s very difficult for mRNA to enter the DNA 核子. So it can’t actually change the dna.
the second point has been brought up not only by 黑人社區, it is but one of the biggest conspiracies related to 疫苗. Or even the one of the biggest conspiracy theories in the world. It is that theirs microchip (晶片) inside the 疫苗, is用來跟踪我們人類的行jung. And ‘mok後黑手’ is bill gates... as he wants to enslave humanity.
Actually I feel the root of this fear in regards to 黑人and 疫苗來自 lik si上這個美國不能說的秘密.
They were lied to by the government that they were receiving ‘meen fuy yi liw’ but they were actually not.
The experiment was to see if 梅毒惡化differently in white people as compared to black people.
This is 建基於相信black people and white people biologically is different. Or that black people is 不及white people的.
Though those black men after were never treated, 1943年even though invented 能對抗梅毒的yuek, it was never given to those black 男子. 甚至之後they went on to cheun yim their wives and children.
Although ‘黑lik si’ is something difficult to change, something can be done now.
-During the ‘yik ching ‘
因為they are low income人士and also being the air quality they inhabit is comparatively worst than other 社區.
But at the end of the day if more precautions were done by the government in ensuring a better healthcare, no matter what the past is,,, confidence 信心can be built here and now. With our actions here and now.
