นี่คือเหตุการณ์ที่สำคัญเหตุการณ์หนึ่งของประวัติศาสตร์เยอรมัน เมื่อนักศึกษาจำนวนมากต่างตัดสินใจลุกขึ้นมาต่อสู้ เพื่อแนวความคิดเสรีนิยม, เพื่อขจัดค่านิยมหรือธรรมเนียมที่ไม่ดีและฝังรากลึกในสังคม จนไปถึงการขจัดระบบนาซีที่ยังถูกแอบฝังอยู่ในสังคมของเยอรมันทั้งๆ ที่สงครามโลกจบไปแล้วเรียบร้อยตั้งแต่ในปี 1945 หรือกว่า 23 ปี

"ซึ่งมีชื่อเรียกอีกชื่อว่า 68ers"

โดยในยุคสมัยนั้นแนวความคิดเสรีนิยมที่ถือว่าเป็นแนวคิดที่ได้รับความนิยมกับเยาวชนหรือนักศึกษาในยุคสมัยนั้น ซึ่งไม่ใช่แค่ในเยอรมนีเท่านั้นหากแต่เป็นทั่วโลก รวมไปถึงแนวคิดในเรื่องของความเท่าเทียมกันทางสังคม, เรื่องของสิทธิ, จนไปถึงวัฒนธรรมในด้านต่างๆ ไม่ว่าจะเป็นดนตรี หรือการแต่งตัว

หากแต่ว่าแนวความคิดหลายๆ เรื่องนั้นก็ถือว่ายังขัดกับบริบททางสังคมในสมัยนั้นอยู่ไม่น้อย รวมไปถึงมันขัดกับแนวความคิดของคนหลายๆ ที่เคยมีบทบาทร่วมกับนาซี แต่ได้ถูกเรียกตัวกลับมาทำงานในหน่วยงานต่างๆ ของเยอรมันอีกครั้งนึง เพราะด้วยความที่ต้องการบุคลากรเข้ามาช่วยพัฒนาประเทศโดยด่วน

จากแนวความคิด จนเริ่มไปสู่กับความขัดแย้งระหว่างคนต่างรุ่น ไม่ว่าจะเป็นพ่อแม่, ข้าราชการ, อาจารย์ ที่เคยมีส่วนร่วมกับระบอบที่เลวร้ายในช่วงสงครามโลกนั้นถือว่าเป็นสิ่งที่ทำให้เยาวชนหลายๆ คนนั้นมีความคิดที่ขัดแย้งกับคนรุ่นเก่าอย่างสิ้นเชิง

ซึ่งปัจจัยหนึ่งนั้นเป็นเพราะว่าคนรุ่นเก่าตั้งแต่เกิดขึ้นมาก็ถูกสอนและปลูกฝังมาแบบนั้น จนฝังใจและยากจะเปลี่ยนแปลง

จากการที่มีการรวมตัวกันเป็นระยะๆ จนไปสู่เหตุการณ์สองเหตุการณ์ที่ทำให้เกิดความเปลี่ยนแปลงที่ยิ่งใหญ่ก็คือ

- การประท้วงการเยือนของชาห์จากประเทศอิหร่านที่ถือว่าเป็นผู้นำที่ชื่อเสียงไม่ดีคนนึงในสมัยนั้น จนกลายเป็นความรุนแรงและมีการเสียชีวิตจากผู้ชุมนุมในเหตุการณ์ดังกล่าว

- และนอกจากนี้ถัดไปจากนั้นประมาณหนึ่งปีก็ได้มีเหตุการณ์ลอบยิงหนึ่งในแกนนำของกลุ่มนักศึกษาคือนาย Rudi Dutschke จนได้รับบาดเจ็บสาหัส (แต่ก็ได้เสียชีวิตหลังจากนั้น 11 ปีและก็ได้มีถนนที่เป็นชื่อของนาย Rudi Dutschke ขึ้นมาด้วยครับ)

จนเหตุการณ์ดังกล่าวก็กลายเป็นชนวนที่ก่อให้เยาวชนต่างก็ทนไม่ไหวและต่างก็ลุกฮือขึ้นมาเป็นจำนวนมากเพื่อต่อสู้กับระบบที่มันเลวร้าย

โดยการประท้วงในครั้งนั้นถือว่ารุนแรงไม่น้อย เพราะการลุกขึ้นสู้เป็นจำนวนมากของเยาวชนและคนรุ่นใหม่ที่ตัดสินใจลงถนน จนต้องมีการระดมตำรวจ มีการฉีดน้ำใส่ จนไปถึงมีการใช้ตำรวจม้าเข้ามาจัดการกับประชาชน

แต่สุดท้าย ..... การประท้วงในปีนั้นถือว่าไม่ได้ประสบความสำเร็จในแง่ของการล้มรัฐบาลได้ หากแต่ว่าแนวความคิดของพวกเค้า, สิ่งที่พวกเค้าได้ต่อสู้เรียกร้อง ได้ถูกส่งต่อให้กับคนรุ่นนั้นเป็นจำนวนมากและทั่วประเทศ

จนทำให้เหตุการณ์ดังกล่าวนั้นเป็นจุดเริ่มต้นของการเปลี่ยนแปลงทางสังคมและเป็นแรงบันดาลใจให้เกิดการต่อสู้จนเอาคืนได้ผ่านทางการเลือกตั้ง

โดยผลการเลือกตั้งในครั้งถัดไปเพียงหนึ่งปีถัดจากนั้นคือในปี 1969 ที่คนเยอรมันได้รวมพลังกันเลือกพรรคการเมืองที่มีความคิดเสรีนิยมซึ่งถือว่าเป็นพรรคที่ตรงกันข้ามกับ พรรคการเมืองแนวอำนาจนิยมตามระบอบอำนาจแบบเก่าที่ครองอำนาจมาหลายสิบปี

ซึ่งเหตุการณ์นี้ได้ส่งผลให้เกิดการปฏิรูปและกำจัดระบอบเก่าๆ จนไปถึงเป็นการวางรากฐานของสังคมเยอรมันในระยะยาว

"จนทำให้เยอรมนีกลายมาเป็นเยอรมนีอย่างในทุกวันนี้"
