When Moon & Soul was initially born, it was initially meant to be an energy healing and meditation studio. I had only ever done Yin yoga as I thought other forms of more “athletic” yoga was not my thing.

Fast forward to September 2019 when a very persuasive friend invited me to a yoga class that made me cry. I had felt so lost throughout the class that during savasana I had tears running down my face uncontrollably. I was so angry at myself for not being “good at yoga” but just a few tiny moments later, I realised that it was this exact feeling that brought me back to my childhood. It was a time where I was so afraid to do things wrong that I would be afraid to play.

In that moment, I realized how much I had held myself back from trying new things because I felt I wouldn’t be naturally good at it. How often are we naturally good at something the first try anyway? 🤷🏻♀️ That night changed my perspective on yoga and for the first time in my life, I decided that I would come back and try again. And again. And again. And again.

I had never realised how much a physical practice could ground and shift your energy, and how much it helped people heal. We began to curate yoga classes truly from a space of love that are not only there to challenge you physically or give you a good stretch, but because I experienced first hand the healing power of yoga, and wanted others to have the same beautiful experience that I had.
Having a consistent yoga practice has also helped me become a better healer, teacher and facilitator as I healed the wounding within myself.

Are you an introvert or extrovert? Are you the life of the party who loves to socialize and make new friends or do you prefer smaller intimate gatherings and feel the need to have time alone to recharge? Or.... are you like me? An “extroverted” introvert. Sound confusing? Welcome to my life lol 😂 I’ve come to realize that beneath my confident, outgoing and sometimes “loud” self, I’m actually much more of an introvert that most ppl think. I realize that my emotions, mood and temper are very easily impacted by my surroundings and other people’s energy. I find it exhausting and physically draining at times to put up a front and be social, especially in situations or events out of my control. When I’m out with friends or hosting a party, I tend to be the one running around making sure everyone’s ok and having a good time, yet at the same time, I’m always “in my head” and thinking a million other things all at once. I make friends easily but am also extremely guarded because I can’t stand to be hurt. My friends call me a “drama queen” and comment on how sensitive I am, yet despite my best efforts, I sometimes can’t contain my emotions and they all pour out of me in a flood of tears... and then afterwards, I feel so much lighter. ☺️ But even though I am so prone to stressing myself out, I wouldn’t change anything. Because this is what makes me me. Instead, I work on finding ways to learn more about myself, what makes me tick,how to navigate my emotions and moods and to become more balanced. I’ve reignited my daily meditation practice and also started journaling in order to stay grounded. And every now and then I take a break from social media to focus on the most important ppl in my life, my family. Thank you for staying with me till the end. 😘 Sending my love to all you “extroverted” introverts and kindred ambiverted spirits out there who may be struggling with expectations to be or to act a certain way. Take it easy, you don’t have to prove anything to anyone. You are perfect just the way you are. ❤️ Love, Cindy

One of the things I dig about yoga, you can do it anywhere with anything. Don’t let yourself think you need expensive clothes, props and a mat before you can practice. You can practice in your work clothes, you can practice naked and if you need a prop you can make one out of a plastic bag like we did. Yoga really is for everyone.
I worked with Kik from the the channel TheLoveKik for this video, in addition to running her channel, she also works in an office. She told me the problems people in her office have, and I gave her asanas to help.
Try it. These are all beginner certified.
