Reasons why I love being a songwriter:

Music truly is a universal language.

When I released 'Siboh Kitak Nangis' (meaning Don't You Cry) on my 2nd album 'Ghostbird', I was faced with many doubtful questions from Malaysians (I don't need to tell you which part Msia these Q's came from), who asked me things like, "Wahhh~ berani eh you letak lagu Sarawak dalam album you?" and "So is this a way to prove you're more Malaysian?" (Whut, bro?) I thought to myself, this was just a song I wrote about comforting yourself, or others, and telling them that every hardship shall pass, chin up, don't worry, I'll be by your side if you need me, come rain, thunder or lightning, I will be with you... BUT it just so happens to be in my native dialect of Bahasa Sarawak.

I remember hearing praises about it from my record label and particularly my producer Mario Caldato (Mario C) and how excited they were to be hearing this beautiful language, and their faith in the song made my heart melt.

When the song finally released, and hearing those things from my fellow countrymen shocked me to the core.

Of course, not everyone thought like that... Members of the media were very kind and I have been told that the song went on to inspire many more artistes and Sarawakian artistes to embrace our culture and language... Which to me, meant that that was my job as a songwriter done. 'Siboh Kitak Nangis' then went on to be become the first Bahasa Sarawak song on an international album, on rotation on NPR radio stations in the US and was also featured in Korean dramas, and also just like in this video, appreciated by people of different parts of the world who do not even remotely know what it means, just by the sentiments of the song that they're hearing.

My darlings, in music, there is no limit. No one makes the rules. It depends on what you want to achieve and express. Sing the language of your hearts, your souls, and mind not about "making it the market", truth is, someone, somewhere, needs to hear it, and feel like they are loved and not alone.❤️ On that note: OOHHHAAAAA🌺!

《什麼都看不到、什麼都看不到》

昨天女兒視訊畫畫創作課完畢，
老師要求孩子們畫一幅全家福，
我看其他學生把家人的互動畫的是甜蜜又幸福，
七歲女兒卻速速畫了這張交卷。

我實在不懂她為什麼要把我們家畫成這樣？🤷‍♀️
她答：「因為我是天使，所以你們也要變成天使。」
她這樣一回答，我又更不懂了。🤷‍♀️

直到晚上睡前，我看見最新新聞播報：
「加州宣佈這學期都停課」，震驚之虞，
我再看一次這幅圖......我恍然悟道了!!

原來畫中的我跟KJ正處於閉關修煉時期，
經歷這次的磨難，我們才能跟孩子一樣飛升上仙。

😇❤️「父母切記，當孩子停課每天都待在家裡時，
若想要與天使孩子們好好朝夕相處，
讓家庭保持如天堂般和諧及快樂，
當父母的一定要經常靜坐修煉，
學習腦空....心空...一切都要放下，
面對孩子的懶與散，
請務必要裝作.....什麼都看不到、什麼都看不到」❤️😇

感謝女兒的神來之筆，讓我在磨難中頓悟。

Yesterday, the virtual drawing class teacher asked the children to draw a family portrait,
I saw other kids drawing the interactions of their families as sweet and happy.

But my 7 yrs. old girl drew THIS.

I really don’t understand why she drew our family like this. 🤷‍♀️
She replied, “Because I am an angel, you all have to become angels.”
I was confused more.... 🤷‍♀️

Until bedtime at night, I watched the latest news:
“California announces suspension of classes this semester,” I shocked and look at this picture again ...
I finally realized what is the meaning behind my girl’s family drawing.

During the quarantine,
Dad and Mom are going through a lot of sufferings at home.
They need to be calm and peaceful to overcome these sufferings,
they will enter the Heaven and become an angel as a child.

😇❤️”Parents remember that when your kids stay home every day,
if you want to get along with your angel children,
and keep your family as peaceful and happy as heaven,
you must practice meditation regularly.
Learn to empty your brain and mind …. just let everything go.
When you see your kids are lazy and undisciplined,
be sure to pretend ... "I didn’t see anything; I didn’t see anything". "❤️😇

2018 is a milestone year. We moved into a new place as married couple, hubby changed job and I am pregnant with our first child. Tbh I am still coping with the idea of being a wifey and mama-to-be. Marriage and kids are 2 things that never really crossed my mind growing up. It just felt irrelevant. That is until my man appeared. We'd planned to enjoy some alone time and maybe try for a child in 2019. But a body check in mid '18 revealed some complications in my uterus. After some discussion, we decided to try for a few months, and if nth happend (which is very likely per doc) then I will get a surgery and try 2yrs later. Aaaaand then it just happened. One try and now I am 30 weeks pregged. As shocked as I was, I told myself its meant to be.
I really wanna say I love this pregnancy and is excited for what's to come, but the truth is...there's lots more than rainbows, unicorns and a loving hubby. Crazy hormones gets me crying for the lamest things. I started walking like a penguin lately. I am bloated all around, and got zebra lines across my butt and darkened pigmentations all over the weirdest spots. I freak out thinking about being cut open and how painful the healing will be. Will I get time to go workout with my guavapass or grab drinks w friends after baby comes out? Can't even imagine how different life will be. And the whole concept of being responsible for someone other than yourself 😨 A thousand things crosses my mind and all are in the land of strange and unknown. But on the positive side, being 30 weeks pregged means I am almost done, meaning I can finally eat sushi or sleep on my back again after the baby's out. People say all worries will be gone ones u see the baby's face. I sure hope so. Keeping my fingers (and toes) crossed.
I am interested to see how things will turn out in 2019, how I can balance having a life vs motherhood.
Let's all keep our heads up, hopes high and take on the new year with many many positive energies!
