在讀hide的傳記《Never ending dream -hide story-》之前，想說配樂就是我非常喜歡的〈Art of Life〉了（其實在與來信邀我試讀的行銷姐姐聊天過程中就在聽），讀完之後，我還是只想聽這首在X Japan歷史上已經是歷史性名曲，長達三十分鐘的一首〈Art of Life〉──特別是這個版本，仍擁有hide電吉他聲的1993年live版。

這首歌從第一個音符，就聽得出X Japan五人在那個驚人時代裡的強勁野心，這絕對不只是首重金屬搖滾樂曲，這是一首比擬交響樂形式的音樂。
如同會知曉八零年代的中森明菜是透過網路，我仍然無緣經歷X Japan最頂峰的時代，只能在網路上看著他們過去各種驚人的Live，比方說上北野武綜藝節目時大鬧拉麵店的表演，他們1991年初次登上紅白唱的那首〈SILENT JEALOUSY 〉，或是五人在第十三次、也是最後一場在東京巨蛋演出的那首〈紅〉。
當然，這就像是已經被暴雷知道結局了，仍然會往前翻看前面寫的多美的小說故事集，X Japan是傳奇，是的，他們當然是傳說，經歷了各種動盪，死亡，血淚，有時現在再看，究竟是時代創造了那樣的傳奇，還是他們創造了傳奇，讓那個時代看起來格外的驚人。
YOSHIKI當然是X Japan的靈魂，這首歌混進太多他對生與死，人生的迷惘，藝術追求的執著，用鼓聲也好，用鋼琴聲也好，透過Toshi的歌聲也好，在這首〈Art of Life〉完全可以感受的出，他透過許多聲響在傳達自己多麼複雜且濃厚的情感。
但所謂的樂團，正是由團員們互相制衡才能構成的音樂團體，而X Japan的團員們需要不斷制衡YOSHIKI的存在，所以我總是覺得，原先是另一樂團的團長hide真是厲害的存在，他並非只是讓自己更搶眼，而是讓自己融成「X」的聲音吧，我是這麼猜測的。
在讀傳記的時候，知道hide進X Japan錄的第一首，正是那首他們的名曲〈紅〉，而是出色的吉他手也是專業美容師的hide，從始至終留著的髮色，永遠都是紅色，無論長短髮。
〈Art of Life〉裡，我最喜歡的部份，其實不是TOSHI高昂亮麗的歌聲用英語唱著生與死，而是那一長段鋼琴獨奏，像是在衝突中刻意冷靜的反思，像是在喧鬧中孤寂的存在，充滿戲劇性的轉折，如同X Japan的過去，現在，以及未來。一生傳奇，終將迎接死亡的結局。
每次聽到最後一段歌詞，都覺得，這段詞像是在寫給hide的悼詞：
Art of life
An Eternal Bleeding heart
You never wanna breathe your last
Wanna live
Can't let my heart kill myself
Still I'm feeling for
A Rose is breathing love
In my life
那是他們的Art of life，也是他們那朵永恆的紅色玫瑰。
"In you, I've found the love of my life and my closest, truest friend."
To the hubby, we might not see each other much on many days due to your work. We will also never see eye to eye all the time in this parenting journey and will continue to have our fair share of bickers, woes and unpleasantries that comes with marriage. But, you have and will always be the one who keeps me grounded, who is not afraid to tell me the truth and make me see my flaws, who supports me not always in the way I yearn for but in your own silent ways, who lets me be able to continue doing what I do because you ungrudingly take on the job of being the sole breadwinner and pillar of the family. I hope we will never forget why we got together in the first place and remember that we will always be each other's soulmate.

P.S. Our couple shots were taken by the kids, not bad right? Swipe to the last to see the reality. Haha. Yup, this third party was crying, screaming and insisting on standing right next to us for all the shots. Jealousy or FOMO, I'm not sure so I had to crop him out of most of the pics. The truth was we were frustrated, there were mosquitoes flying around and my camera was barely surviving on 1% battery so we had to be swift. The reminder is: Never believe everything you see on social media because there's always another side to these perfectly posed, life-is-wonderful shots.
