Haaa. I was a lil bummed at first that weekend classes had to be cancelled but glad that I had time to sink into what’s really happening. I’m teaching at @sinostage in Shanghai. Me. Shanghai. Me from JB. 😂 It’s a full week teaching regular class for twice a day kinda thing. I’m hired to teach heels/street jazz (basically what I do for GRIIND classes) and I wasn’t sure if it would be well received here. I was also really worried about teaching in mandarin. I can speak mandarin but to teach in it is a whole different game. The word flirt is cute in English but in mandarin it sounds nasty as hell. 挑逗. 😂 Also, example of description, “milk the moment”. There. Yeap.

It’s been 2 days of teaching, 4 classes done so far and I’m slowly finding ways to reach out and invite my students (thankfully I do have some) into what my expression is to music. I’m stepping into my place as a teacher from Malaysia and it feels good. It truly does. I’m thankful for all the experiences I’ve had back home to have made me into the person/dancer I am which has carried me all the way across the sea. I’m here to do me. How cool is that. I never wanna take this for granted.
