Earlier today in my little corner of sunshine for day 2 of watercolor lessons with @paronschoolofart. Today’s subject was SARDINES! Never thought I’d ever enjoy painting fish but it was surprisingly fun and came out quite pretty ☺️ I’ve always been frightened to try watercolors, preferring the steady strong strokes of a pen drawing. This new medium is somewhat of a leap of faith for me, and am practicing “letting go” and allowing the paint and water to do their thing on the paper. Accidents turn into the most unexpected beautiful moments. Maybe I should be “letting go” of other things in life more and make room for the unexpected and unplanned. ☺️

One of the positives of this #quarantine is having a little more time to do the things I love but never quite got around to. So I’ve been taking out the ole’ sketch book a bit more recently which feels quite good ☺️ For those of you who need a little extra help to get into a creative mood, the key is to devote a little corner of your home into your artistic sanctuary. Pull up a cozy rug, some cushions, have your materials handy with good lighting and just go with the flow!
