#EatitForward at Thaan . It’s no secret we’re partial to Thaan 31, since they’ve opened their doors we’ve been banging on those same doors to enjoy succulent smokey meats and other grilled creations ever since. Being ‘the’ grill specialist one would suspect their meticulously crafted josper dishes would be greatly at a disadvantage due to the standard delivery pitfalls but we can confirm this is only very slight.
The 200g Wagyu Rump (480thb) with Yakiniku sauce, pickled wasabi and cured egg yolk was just as rich and umami as ever, the 200g Zabuton A5 (950thb) with pickle garlic fish sauce and rice, spectacularly arranged into a flower (bookmark it for date night) was fabulously fatty among the chill and raw garlic which gives the whole mouth a nice little layer of meat-oil coating but with a palatable kick!
The piece de resistance was the Oh My Supper Wagyu Hanger 100g (700thb). This dish is always so explosive with flavour, earthy, robust, aromatic and full of Oh so good Wagyu fat which permeates the chunky rice. Genius really. Coming in a close second is a dish we've never tried and that's the Grilled Unagi with sweet chili garlic sauce and XO fried rice. Unagi fans rejoice, this 110 gram of Unagi sensation is a dream deal at 650thb.
Difficult to fault anything except on the temperature front. This can not be avoided, grilled meats should be cooked and prepared la minute for maximum enjoyment, so we advice that you absolutely DO NOT REHEAT these perfectly cooked meats, instead heat up the rice separately and the place the meat on top, it will be as close to the original experience as you're going to get. One thing is for sure, there's alot of heart and soul put into each dish and it would be a shame not to try at least once.
