好好說那年，時間來到 1997 年，這年亞洲爆發了一場嚴重的金融危機。之前我們在 1980 年代的節目中，曾經討論過亞洲四小龍的經濟成就，而隨之在後，東南亞各國的經濟也逐漸成長，投資者尤其看好泰國、馬來⻄亞、印尼、菲律賓這四個國家，形容他們是亞洲四小虎。

亞洲四小虎在 1980 年代末期，乘著這股經濟成長趨勢，決定提高利率來吸引外資湧入，創造出 8% - 12% 的高 GDP 正成長。但是從 90 年代開始，美國經濟開始復甦，在美元走高的情形之下，東南亞出口變得昂貴，加上大量工廠移往中國大陸，經濟迅速暴跌。 1997 年，泰國政府決定放棄固定匯率制，實行浮動匯率制而引發貨幣貶值，迅速襲捲許多亞洲國家，引發了社會動盪和政局不安，甚至是政府倒台的現象。而台灣很幸運地逃過這一劫，沒有受到太大的傷害。

但為什麼台灣能如此呢？這集節目，我們邀請的來賓是中國信託商業銀行利明献董事長。利董事長是 The Asian Banker《亞洲銀行家》雜誌選出的「台灣最佳CEO」，曾經在花旗銀行負責金融商品行銷與交易的時期，他親身見證了 1997 年這場驚濤駭浪的金融風暴。二十多年後，利董事長有哪些觀察與思索？讓我們一起回溯時光，深入瞭解亞洲金融風暴的來龍去脈，以及對於台灣經濟發展的啟示。
