A talk to relatives and guests, and a testimony to God.
Good afternoon, Malcohm and Valerie, relatives and friends. I am happy to meet the guests here and say something at the marriage of Phoebe and Clinton.
We are a Christian family. Our first pastor told us, God did not look at passports when He accepted Christians. Well, God might have been foretelling us that our children-in-law would be different from us.
A Chinese parent calls the daughter ‘the Pearl on the Palm”. Phoebe is precious and special. She is always motivated. She shone in studies, and I joke that even my proud self do not want to sit for the same professional examination alongside her. My wife demonstrated the utmost capacities of a mother. She taught Phoebe languages which she herself did not speak, brought Phoebe to dancing although she knew little dancing, coached Phoebe swimming, but she still does not swim well; and she learned martial art to mastery levels to keep our children company. I am sure that our daughter will excel both hardworking Papa and clever Mama in the coming years.
Yes, Phoebe is a pearl in our family. And I heard that some fathers-in-law are difficult to be satisfied with the sons-in-law. I am different because I believe in my daughter. Clinton can charm Phoebe. So, Clinton is a Prince worthy of Phoebe.
The Bible preaches that good children make parents proud. We knew how good our daughter is, but we were also concerned when she found Mr Right. My wife had prayed night after night that Phoebe met her good Christian prince before a certain age. When the calendar simply went beyond it, Karen kept praying. Later, when we learned that Phoebe was dating, we found that Phoebe and Clinton knew each other BEFORE the age for which Karen prayed. My friends, this is a good testimony on prayer. God knows what to do at the right time.
Now the bride and the groom leave nests of the parents to start your new family, as God so commanded. I would not try to lecture on the art of marriage. But I may share my promises to my wife when I proposed to her. I promised to treat her family well. I promised to listen to her. I promised to apologize to her for ANY ARGUMENT when we ever fall into one, whatever the logic or even facts are. I have kept the promises, and I am a happy man.
Clinton, please take good care of Phoebe. I am certain that you will congratulate yourself of so doing, based simply on my experience. Phoebe, please take good care of Clinton and his family. I am sure you will do so even without my reminder, as God commands us to love one another and especially the parents.
I started my private practice when Phoebe was 5 years old. It was extremely difficult. The tough exercise strengthened the bond between me and my wife. The trust in us was at a level way above that in families without hardship. Clinton and Phoebe, while stress is training sent from God, apparently smooth and affluent life may be a powerful temptation from Satan. God may not be particular about the form of tests He sends to us, but He watches our response. The 2 of you please treasure both difficult and good times and stand hand-in-hand together.
While Asia is thousands of miles physically away from England, we are a call or a click away. Families of the parents on both sides are always ready to help you. Karen and I pray for your new family, and we are sure that God will continue to guide you in the way ahead.

the love of a christian mother 在 Milton Goh Blog and Sermon Notes Facebook 的最佳解答
“Therefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and rest your hope fully upon the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;” (I Peter 1:13 NKJV)
Did you know that your mind reproduces?
If you compare the female reproductive system with our head, you’ll see similarities.
The ovary’s job is to obtain and transport an egg to the uterus.
It’s like how our ears receive the seed of God’s word and transports it to our mind.
The uterus is where the egg attaches and grows into a child as it receives nutrients from the mother.
When you meditate on God’s word and allow the revelation of it to remain in your mind, it also grows through faith.
Finally, when the child is mature and ready to be given birth to, it will exit through the birth canal.
When God’s word in your mind is fully believed, it gives birth to tangible fruits through the words you speak from your mouth.
“A man’s stomach is filled with the fruit of his mouth. With the harvest of his lips he is satisfied. Death and life are in the power of the tongue; those who love it will eat its fruit.” (Proverbs 18:20-21 WEB)
What seeds are you receiving into your mind? Faith comes through hearing a message.
If you keep hearing the same message consistently, it will grow in your mind and finally produce either death or life when you believe and speak it forth.
Why should both men and women be compared to the female reproductive system?
Because in relation to Jesus, we are the woman—the bride of Christ.
Just as the principle is true in the female reproductive system, it’s also true for the ear-mind-mouth connection.
Don’t forget, both are designed by the same God, and He has taught us these principles in His word!
I love it when the Holy Spirit unveils fresh revelations—don’t you?

Stewarding Revelations and Gifts
“This is the history of the generations of Jacob. Joseph, being seventeen years old, was feeding the flock with his brothers. He was a boy with the sons of Bilhah and Zilpah, his father’s wives. Joseph brought an evil report of them to their father. Now Israel loved Joseph more than all his children, because he was the son of his old age, and he made him a coat of many colors. His brothers saw that their father loved him more than all his brothers, and they hated him, and couldn’t speak peaceably to him. Joseph dreamed a dream, and he told it to his brothers, and they hated him all the more. He said to them, “Please hear this dream which I have dreamed: for behold, we were binding sheaves in the field, and behold, my sheaf arose and also stood upright; and behold, your sheaves came around, and bowed down to my sheaf.” His brothers said to him, “Will you indeed reign over us? Or will you indeed have dominion over us?” They hated him all the more for his dreams and for his words. He dreamed yet another dream, and told it to his brothers, and said, “Behold, I have dreamed yet another dream: and behold, the sun and the moon and eleven stars bowed down to me.” He told it to his father and to his brothers. His father rebuked him, and said to him, “What is this dream that you have dreamed? Will I and your mother and your brothers indeed come to bow ourselves down to you to the earth?” His brothers envied him, but his father kept this saying in mind.” (Genesis 37:2-11 WEB)
Sometimes God reveals something that’s meant only for us and we make the mistake of telling it to others way too early out of excitement.
Joseph had a powerful gift of receiving prophetic dreams but he was too immature to steward the gift well.
Being excited about the fantastic dreams God gave to him, he blurted them out to his brothers without using proper discernment.
Sometimes there is a long gap between the time we receive a word from the Lord and the time where we’re supposed to release that word to others.
A word spoken at the right time is wonderful—like shooting an arrow straight into the bullseye, demonstrating undoubtedly that our loving God is keenly involved in our daily lives.
“Joy comes to a man with the reply of his mouth. How good is a word at the right time!” (Proverbs 15:23 WEB)
To release the word we have received at the right time, we can only do it by being led by the Holy Spirit.
Out of the countless challenges and concerns that people face every day, only God can align the right word for the right person at the right time.
Someone reading this has received new gifts from the Holy Spirit and it’s going to feel very exciting.
You feel like sharing this news and your experiences with the whole world, but remember it’s important to use discernment and have patience.
It would have been fine if Joseph only shared his prophetic dreams with Jacob who loved him dearly. It was a mistake to tell them to his brothers.
Be led by the Spirit to avoid others jealously interpreting your pure excitement as boastfulness.
Joseph at the age of seventeen was a pampered child. He was Jacob’s favorite and received preferential treatment.
People who don’t love you won’t tolerate your spoilt and willful behavior.
If you want to be a good steward of your gifts, rely on the Holy Spirit to help you speak with others from a place of love.
When you are walking in love, you will be considerate towards other people’s feelings and avoid saying things that may stumble them.
A word released at the wrong time becomes a source of dissension instead of building others up.
We mustn’t be casual with this. When we understanding what’s at stake, we will steward our words and gifts with love.
Even for this, we have to rely on the Holy Spirit.
We don’t have any true patience, love or discernment in our flesh so we have to receive these fruits from the Holy Spirit.
When you feel overcome by emotion after receiving a word from the Lord, take a moment to breath deeply and still yourself—bring yourself back to a calm state.
Then listen closely to what the indwelling Holy Spirit is saying. Is there a peace towards releasing the word now, or is it to be kept in your heart, meditated upon and released at a later time?
Child of God, be led by the Holy Spirit!

NOTE: This video is so old! I sound terrible. Please watch an updated Japanese video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k9TD0oI9OEQ
In this video I speak some Japanese. My parents are my greatest motivation since they both live in Japan at the moment and I want to be able to converse comfortably when I visit them. In the video I hit my elbow so please excuse that...& another little blunder. But anyway, enjoy the video and please correct my mistakes if you can help!
Here's the translation:
Hello everyone! This is my first Japanese video. Nice to meet you! Firstly, my name is Lindie. I am a 19 year old South African. My hobby is learning foreign languages. On applications (called) Saito-san and Line, I have Japanese penpal friends, so I want to show them this video. My friends are really kind because they help me.
Since last year, I have been learning Japanese, but I have been a little busy so now learning Japanese is very difficult. But in any case, learning (languages) is really exciting, right? I want to go to Japan. Really want to. But now I can go to Japan! My father is a diplomat. In August my father, mother and brother moved to Tokyo. Now they live in Tokyo. I live alone in South Africa. But in December I will also go to Japan! I am so happy. *heartbeat sound*. Yes. Umm now I have a motivation for Japanese studying!
I am a graphic design student. *OW!* - i hit my elbow- Sorry! I'm okay. Hm. Well, I really like graphic design so when I am in Japan I want to go to art galleries with my mother. Yes. That's right. I also like music a lot. I like Sakanaction the most. So I want to see a Sakanaction concert and buy a CD in Japan. Sorry, sorry! (another awkward accident). Now I want to sh..sh..show you my Japanese books. Yes. This is a Korean book, but it is really good. It's a present (from) my boyfriend. This is also a Korean book but it's really cute! So good. This book... my American polyglot friend (Annie that's you!) also reads (drinks? reads) this book. Ah. Japanese! Difficult! But... thank you, everyone! Byebye!
