As I know that one of the Hong Kong elite rowing athlete is having plant based diet. It works for him.

If you are having junk food, never write food diary, never track your calories and macros, and having high body fat% and heart issue, please fix your diet ASAP with any diet plan. And consult with your doctor and do the blood test.
