來過倫敦的人應該都對這裡的音樂劇念念不忘，倫敦有成熟的劇院體系，西區劇院愈夜愈美麗，每週每天幾乎都有音樂劇上演。然而從去年三月倫敦進入封城，除了餐廳關閉，音樂劇演出也全數暫停，過去一年在劇院工作的人頓時失去工作。儘管今年五月重啟，觀眾也仍未完全重返劇院。

英國劇院基金（Theatre Support Fund）特別舉辦《The Shows Must Go On》演唱會，號召現今西區劇院音樂劇演員表演各自劇中的歌曲。兩小時內濃縮數十齣劇，除了大家熟悉的《悲慘世界》、《歌劇魅影》、《獅子王》和《MAMMA MIA!》，也包含在英國奧利佛獎（Olivier Awards）獲獎的 《Dear Evan Hansen》、《漢密爾頓》和《Mary Poppins》等等，提高許多知名度不那麼高但很值得一看的小劇曝光度。

疫情底下，這次破例開放 YouTube 現場全程直播，是一次向英國觀眾介紹一眾音樂劇的機會，進而買票支持個別喜歡的劇，也讓全球觀眾得以透過小螢幕感受久違的劇院氛圍，沒辦法出國也能體驗在倫敦西區劇院看劇的感受。

正如主持人、英國資深音樂劇演員 Bonnie Langford 所言：

"I can completely understand why the Phantom's spent all of his time hanging about in theatre... because there is no better place to be."

Neil Patrick Harris, Anna Kendrick and Jack Black perform the opening number "Moving Pictures" at the 2015 #Oscars!

How do you make a great opening number for the Oscars? Get a bunch of Broadway talent to do it.

The production number, "Moving Pictures," sung by Tony-winning Academy Awards host Neil Patrick Harris and "Into the Woods" star Anna Kendrick, was written by Academy Award-winning "Frozen" songwriters Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez.

The visuals edited Harris into classic films from "The Wizard of Oz" to "Star Wars" to "Into the Woods."

The middle section of the song, as sung by Jack Black, aped Stephen Sondheim's "Witch's Rap" from Into the Woods, and he warned Harris that he would be “better off polishing your Tony." Kendrick drove him off by yelling “Beat it” and flinging her Cinderella shoe at him.
