「真的假的？泡麵的發明者是位出身嘉義朴子的台灣人？」
"Really? Instant noodles were invented by a Taiwanese from Puzi, Chiayi?"

過去一週，除了一天南下高雄訪友，我幾乎都待在家人位在嘉義朴子的住處；而講到嘉義朴子，就不得不提一位目前為止對世界歷史最有影響力的朴子人，吳百福（安藤百福）。他的影響力有多大？他是日本日清食品的創辦人，也是把泡麵商品化並行銷全世界的主要推手，並且自稱是泡麵的發明者。今天在全世界任何一個角落，無論是我在西伯利亞鐵路的火車上能用熱水在幾分鐘之內吃到熱騰騰的湯麵，或是可以不時在網路上看到萌死人不償命的新垣結衣小雞拉麵廣告，都得要感謝這位嘉義朴子人。目前正在NHK播出、擁有穩定超越20%收視率的晨間劇《萬福》便是以這位台裔日本企業家的故事改編。

日清集團的官網上將其創辦人安藤百福稱為泡麵的發明者，並且簡述了他創立集團的故事，大致上來說就是戰後日本物資缺乏、許多人營養不良，安藤百福為了善用美援麵粉製造日本食物解決糧食問題，便在自家後院蓋了間小屋，用整整一年的時間努力不懈的研究如何油炸麵條，終於在1958年8月25日開始販售全世界第一款泡麵「チキンラーメン」，也就是小雞拉麵。讀下來是相當動人勵志的一篇故事。

不過，就在我來到嘉義朴子並準備開始寫這篇文章時，內心出現了疑問：如果這個人是如此成功的企業家兼發明家，為何在朴子完全找不到任何一點和他相關的蛛絲馬跡呢？難道不會有人想為他立個紀念碑、甚至把他故居改建成紀念館嗎？正是因為這樣的疑問，讓我發現這個故事的陰暗面——

1. 吳百福有過三段婚姻，其中台籍的大房二房在他移居日本後都被棄之不顧，原本擔任日清社長的大房長子還被他與日籍的三房兒子聯手撤換（根據《週刊文春》）。這些事情讓仍在嘉義朴子的吳家不是很願意提及吳百福這個人。
2. 吳百福並沒有發明泡麵，在後院製造泡麵並且申請專利的是在大阪留學的屏東人張國文。吳百福向張國文購買了專利，並且利用他掌握的黑市資源，成功將泡麵商品化。

既然如此，泡麵到底是誰發明的呢？根據《時報周刊》在2007年的訪談，張國文製造泡麵的靈感來自家人從屏東寄到大阪的雞絲麵，所以他也不是最早以油炸法保存麵條的先驅；早在泡麵出現之前，台灣的雞絲麵和意麵就已經常用油炸的方式保存，而且同樣的方法可能19世紀就已經出現在台灣及中國多個地方。張國文的功勞在於為這種方法申請專利，吳百福的貢獻則是將這個專利買下並且商品化；因此合理推測，日清的元老級商品小雞拉麵，其原型基本上就是台灣的雞絲麵。

故事講到這裡，我已經不指望可以在朴子找到什麼和泡麵或日清有關的痕跡了，只是在據說是吳百福故居所在的光復路上隨便走走；但走著走著，突然看到一間近年新開的7-11，外觀保存的日式民居的特色，門口石碑上有著「朴站門市」的題字，落款人姓吳；回家查了一下，有當地人暗示這棟房子和吳百福有關，雖然也未交代詳情；至於店裡所販售的泡麵，是否為出身此地的一位台灣人所發明？目前看來，比較公允的講法應該是，這是幾位旅居大阪的台灣人，將台灣的油炸麵條商品化並且推向全世界的結果；至於真正的發明者到底是誰，似乎就沒那麼重要了——或許只是某位煮麵時不小心讓麵條掉進油鍋的不知名阿嬤吧！

In the past week, I've been with my parents in a small town Puzi in southern Taiwan. Among the well-known people from here, the most influential one is probably Momofuku Ando (安藤百福), a Taiwanese-Japanese businessman and the founder of Nissin Food Products Co., Ltd., who claimed to be the inventor of instant noodles. Ando was born in Taiwan before WWII (which was then a Japan colony) and later moved to Osaka, Japan. According to Nissin's website, in order to solve Japan's post-war food shortage with the America-provided wheat, Ando spent one full year at a cabin in his backyard to research different ways to make instant noodles. On August 25, 1958, his first instant noodle product Chikinrāmen (チキンラーメン) was launched and gained great success around the world. The story has become the TV show "Manpuku" on Japan's national TV network NHK. This sounds like a very encouraging story. Doesn't it?

Given his business success and contribution to food industry, it should be reasonable for Puzi, his hometown, to memorize him with a monument, house museum, or something like that. In the town of Puzi, however, I can find no clue about this person. This made me wonder about this history, and eventually got to learn about the complexity in Ando's story.

In fact, Ando's story is a bit controversial. He had two marriages while still in Taiwan, and both wives were abandoned after he moved to Japan and married the third wife. Due to this family history, his clan in Taiwan shows little interest in their connection to their relative Ando. In addition, instead of inventing instant noodle himself, he purchased the patent from fellow Taiwanese Kuo-Wen Chang, who actually did the ramen research in the backyard. Ando, nevertheness, always claimed instant noodles as his own invention. Given these facts, it's not surprising that neither his hometown Puzi nor the production team of Manpuku would mention Ando's early life in Taiwan.

If so, who was the actual inventor of instant noodles? Chang, who owned the patent of instant noodles, got his idea from "chicken fiber noodles" (雞絲麵), the deep-fried thin noodles that are popular in Taiwan. Even before then, deep-frying noodles for preservation was not a new technique. It might have been around since the 19th century. However, there's no doubt that Chang's application for patent and Ando's business strategy made instant noodles a successful and globally available food product.

《玳瑚師父的看見（二）》(English version below)
THE SIGHTINGS OF MASTER DAI HU 2

吾，玳瑚師父的看見，嚴格上來講，不單指，當年八方雲遊渡眾生的那一段歲月而已，而是到將來吾返回太虛前的種種看見。因此，這應該會是世間上，最長的「劇本」。（一笑）其實啊！吾撰寫「玳瑚師父的看見」，不是向全世界宣示，吾的那麽一點能力，主旨是告訴眾生，我們一生的成敗榮枯，跟我們的起心動念，有著不可分隔的因果。撰寫這文章，慈悲喜捨於眾生的同時，也警惕自己一定要常在禪定中，不要一失足成千古恨。恨是恨自己，沒有全力以赴的修行。

吾的其中一位門生，介紹她的一位女同事，來詢問吾的專業服務。這位女有情已婚，是位在職的女性，先生是高薪職員，她他倆育有一千金。她及她的千金名字，是由吾應她之請求，重新撰於她母女倆，出類拔萃的吉祥良名。後來我們較熟絡了，她就向吾透露些心事，吾也就傾耳聆聽，並給於她吾真心的慰籍與慧見。事情是這樣的，她的先生到了晚上，某個特定的時間，總是要出門。說實在的，結了婚有妻有女的男人，三更半夜一直往外開溜，在情在理真的較難說得過去啊！紙果然保不住火。原來是跑到別的女人的溫柔鄉也。

吾見她並無下堂求去的執意，就問她信不信風水，她回曰她信，她先生就不怎麼信。她其實也有意思，請吾到其位於黃金地帶的寓所，勘察勘察，看看到底是DNA出錯（一笑），還是陽宅出了差錯。立在她家門口，「還未亮劍」之時，她家裡頭的「不速之客」，即不善之靈，已早準備給吾一點顏色瞧瞧。真感恩傳承偉大，傳承大加持啊！要不然，恐怕吾將會有一段時日，無法服務眾生。在客廳中，吾一眼就得到答案，爲何已擁有美麗性感嬌妻的男人，三更半夜還跑到別的女人的溫柔鄉，且已到了無法自拔的地步。

吾，玳瑚師父，在此奉勸大家：勿將來歷不明的物品，帶回家擺放。在這婦人的客廳，吾看見有「靈氣」的木雕櫥櫃、含情脈脈的女子畫像、裸體打火機，等等。重點就在女子畫像及印有裸體的打火機。難怪吾在門口時，已覺察到屋內的邪氣。這屋子的男主人，淫念大動而迎來更多的邪氣，慾火焚身以外，更犯了淫戒，即邪淫也。據吾所知，犯邪淫不及時懺悔還淨者，死後會進入傍生（禽獸門），轉世成飛禽走獸，如：鳥、雞、豬、狗等等。五百劫後出生爲下等人，如：妓女、婢女、賤命之人等等。邪淫所生子女，也較容易沖犯。至於那些畫淫畫的人，未離世福田已削盡，死後或入蛆糞地獄，身臭無比，肚餓食蛆蟲，皮破血流、肚脹蛆出、全身腐爛而死。正心正念太重要了。

Strictly speaking, my sightings are not just from my past years of travelling in eight directions delivering sentient beings. It also encompasses what I see in the future before I return to the Ultimate Void. Thus, this should be the world's longest script! (laughs) Actually, I wrote this "The Sightings of Master Dai Hu" not to declare to the world that I have this little power. The main objective is to tell sentient beings that the rise and fall in our fortunes are karmically inseparable with our every thought and intention. When I wrote this article, it is out of compassion to benefit all sentient beings, as well as to remind myself to be always in a meditative state, and not take a wrong step only to end in eternal regret. Regret that I did not give my best effort in my spiritual cultivation.

One of my disciples recommended her colleague to engage my professional services. This lady colleague of hers was a working married woman. Her husband was a high-salaried employee. They had a daughter. I acceded to her request to give new outstanding and auspicious Chinese names for herself and her daughter. As we got to know each other better, she confided some of her worries in me. I lent her my listening ear, and provided her with my genuine consolation and wisdom.

This was what happened. She told me that her husband always left the house at a certain timing in the night. Frankly speaking, it is inappropriate for a married man with a daughter to always slip out of the house in the middle of the night. No matter what, it was indeed hard to justify such behaviour! Alas, paper cannot wrap up fire. The truth was the husband sought comfort in the tender arms of another woman.

I saw that she did not want to give up on her marriage, hence I asked if she believed in Feng Shui. She said yes, but not her husband. She actually had the intention to invite me to audit the Feng Shui of a residence in a high-valued area. She wished to know if there was something wrong with the DNA (haha!) or the Feng Shui of her house.

As I stood at the entrance of her house, before I could pull out my "treasured sword", the "unwanted guests" in her house, a.k.a. evil spirits, had long prepared to show me their displeasure. I am truly grateful to the great linage empowerment of my noble Root Guru! If not, I would be out of service for quite some time. In the living room, I immediately saw the answer why a man with a beautiful and sexy wife would go out late at night to seek comfort in another woman's arms, and the situation had became Inextricable.

Master Dai Hu wishes to advise everyone: Do not bring any object of unknown origin home. In this lady's house, I saw a wooden wardrobe with active energies, drawings of coy female figures, a lighter with a nude lady, etc. The items of significance were the drawing of women and the lighter with the nude figurine. It was no wonder I sensed an air of negative energies when I was at the door. The man of this house allowed his lust to grow, attracting more negative and evil energies. The fire of lust consumed him, and he broke the precept and committed sexual misconduct.

From what I know, a person who commits sexual misconduct and does not repent for it to resume his/her purity in time will be reborn into the realm of animals, like birds, chickens, pigs, dogs, etc, for the next 500 rebirths. After which, he or she will return to the human realm as a person of lowly status, such as a prostitute, a maid, a wretched person etc. Children borne out of sexual misconduct are more prone to vile energy clashes. As for those who produce books with sexual contents, their merits would have already been slashed even before their death, and upon dying, they may enter Hell and suffer the fate of foul-smelling body, with only maggots to eat when hungry, have broken and bleeding skins, bloating stomach bursting with maggots, and finally dying from a fully rotten body. Having the Right Intention and Right Thought is indeed extremely important.

學佛要把妳你的心變得像棉花一樣柔軟，一點恨都不可以有，祇能有感恩，甚至要原諒以前傷害過妳你的人。如果妳你不能原諒她他們，那妳你如何要求別人原諒妳你呢？

妳你要成就佛國，一點點都不能欺騙眾生。喪失慈悲心是不能去到佛國的。

天堂和地獄不是等到死才有。現實生活中也有。出生在富有的國家，就是天堂。出生在落後的國家，就是地獄。信，就得天堂。不信就入地獄。

人生的終生大事是如何去開啟自己的智慧，離苦得樂，而不是結婚生子。妳你自己都搞不定，妳你還帶一個生命來，以為這就是快樂，相反的是把妳你的生命拖慘了。

福字有六個口，要填滿這六個口，而妳你祇有一個口。功德是成就，幫助妳你離開這娑婆世間。

學佛從理門和事門兩門入。佛法不祇是去寺廟聽佛法，自己也要在家中修法。看佛書是從理門入。事門是修行真正的功夫。

Learning the Dharma is to cleanse your heart of hatred, and transform it to be as soft as cotton, be always filled with gratitude, and even be ready to forgive those who hurt you before. If you are unable to forgive them, how could you expect forgiveness from others?

If you wish to ascend the Pure Land, there must not be a single trace of deceit towards all sentient beings. Abandoning your bodhicitta means losing your "passport" to Pureland.

Heaven and Hell do not appear only after death. In fact, they manifest in your current reality. To be born in an affluent country is Heaven. To be born in a poverty-stricken country is Hell. To have faith is Heaven, while to be shrouded in disbelief is Hell.

The biggest mission we face in this life time is to unlock our inherent wisdom and free ourselves from sufferings. It is not about getting married and having children. You cannot even manage your own life, why would you live in the illusion that bringing a new life into this world represents happiness? On the contrary, your life is about to be dragged down.

The Chinese character 福 has six "mouths" to be filled, but yet you only have one mouth. Virtues can help you in departing from this Saha world.

Learning the Dharma involves two Doors - the Door of Theory as well as the Door of Practical. It is not just going to the temple to learn the Dharma, but involves your own dilligent practice at home as well. Reading Dharma books is learning via the Door of Theory, while the real kungfu of cultivation lies in the Door of Practical.

My name is Queenie Chan, my dad was a Shanghainese and he was an architect. Mum is Taiwanese. They're both Virgo, clean freak and a perfectionist.

Dad was 22 yrs older than mum, dad took mum's virginity and moved to HK after they get married. And I was told his tricks were conventional, writing love letters which could potentially make you diarrhea and it worked well apparently ..
I almost split my mum's vagina when a head coming out other way around, my head that is.
Mum was screaming how painful she felt and I was screaming how tight her vagina was which almost suffocated me.! Dad named ^me after his daughter at his previous marriage whom passed away from drug overdosed.
One Night, Two months after I was born, I got locked from the inside of my room,
mum and dad were both like .. OMG IS IT THE END OF WORLD....

I was crying my arse off, louder than the thunderstorm outside of the windows, dad just got back from a dinner meeting, went straight ahead to the kitchen and grab a chopper then started banging the door knob.
Dad managed to crack open my door, but he also cracked few his blood vessels at the same time and passed away, Mum lost her first love and I lost a lovable dad on the same night. I hardly remember how my dad looks apart from the picture mum shown.
I haven't had a chance to talk to either Bruce or my dad. But I admire them both

There weren't no 'Dummies For Widow' or 'How To Be a Widow In 5 days' books available back then, so Mum flew back to Taiwan with me, and grandparents took over mum's duty so mum get to go search for love.
Because I was the only child, I got all the attention and love from my grannies, and the feeling of being loved has been deep rooted in my brain ever since.I left Taiwan to HK when I was 4 ^to attend pre school, my grannies were so upset and weren't able to eat well for days..It wasn't easy for me to adapt the new environment and I was so used to be around my grannies. Mum were like a stranger to me then. Too bad being a child of 4 yrs old, I didn't have a say at all.
But,Wait for it... That wasn't it, I only then found out there was another man at my new home in hk. My mum second husband, he was in jewelry business..
Mum was still young, she gave most of her attention and love to her new husband. And i started to become a 'world destroyer", I tended to break anything comes in my way. I guess I was just trying to seek attention from my mum, and being an attention whore was one of my jobs.

Now, being 41 years of age.... skin a bit lose, butt a bit saggy, no big house ,no cars, but what really matter is I love what I do, I do what I love,

Happiness is not given, happiness is an attitude, and it can be DIY.

Always try to give your very best in whatever you do, You are not living to please every single person on planet earth.

Don't waste time, make use of every second cuz we only live once.

I used to think : damn !I m 41 now, half of my life gone pass already

But now I m like, 2nd half of my life has just began, I m looking forward to whats goanna come next.

If I can live for another 40 yrs, I will definitely make draw my life part 2, hope you all enjoy my sharing, good luck and see you soon!
