Don’t you just miss the joy of eating satay in the Night Markets of Bangkok? Or even visiting ArtBox with your friends to have some delicious street food?
Now, you can invite some friends (within the Covid-19 limitation) and rediscover this experience in the kitchen from your home :)
We made a simple dipping sauce at the side with fresh cut chillies, soy sauce or fish sauce, cilantro as well as some salt and sugar to your own preference.

Happy TGIF! Today we feature one of the most popular fried rice, Yangzhou Fried Rice. You can literally find it at almost any ZiChar place in Singapore!
As the name suggests, it’s a dish which originated from the City of YangZhou in the Jiangsu Province. Over the years, YangZhou Fried Rice has evolved into many variations and you might ask what is the authentic version?
The essence of an authentic plate of YangZhou Fried Rice lies in the ingredients used.
The key ingredients are XuanWei ham, shrimps, eggs, mushrooms, peas as well as meat; either pork or chicken :)
In our video, we were unable to source for XuanWei ham :( Hence, we used the closest substitute, JinHua ham, which can be found in ShengSiong Supermarket!

Happy TGIF fellow homecooks! Today we will be sharing this recipe: Pan Fried Mackerel with Chilli AKA Rempah Fish.
This method of stuffing the fish with chilli is definitely one of deep tradition. Many Peranakan, Nyonya and Muslim households even crowns this recipe as one of their specialties!
This dish may seem simple and unassuming but the flavours are OFF THE CHARTS!
The aromatics from the chilli paired with the savoury fish is definitely not to be missed! Also, if you have leftover chilli, you can spread it over your fish if you crave for more spice after it is fried or can even be used as dipping sauce :)

Hello everyone - with the CNY coming up, here is a hotpot recipe that’s FULL of goodness!
As Singaporeans, there is no doubt we love spicy food… so we decided on a mala soup base today! Regardless of whether you like Xiao La, Zhong La, or Da La, this recipe is bound to get your senses tingling. Konnyaku and Japanese vermicelli has been put in the pot as well, that goes oh so well with the spicy mala soup base.
We used various products from DoDo for the hotpot ingredients, and given the variety of products, it’s no doubt that there’s something for everyone.

Creamy Butter Prawns is tasty and delicious. It is a simple and easy dish to prepare for dinner or to serve at a party. The hint of chilli pepper flake flavour is so good, and it is just the right amount of spicy. Alternatively, you can add paprika powder.
Ps: This is a sweet yet savoury rendition, if aren't a fan of sweet dishes, you can reduce the amount of rice syrup or add a lil zest :)
This recipe is so easy to make, and doesn’t take long at all. Best served it with rice and drizzle the sauce over it!
