Long post alert:
It's been an insane journey with these bunch of people;
For some bizarre, unexplainable reason, we all somehow came together and made this happen;
...
At the very beginning of it all, @ryan.man asked us why we joined and what we wanted to take back from all of this;
And to be very honest I had NO IDEA what I wanted out of this.
...
But now that it's over, I realized that it wasn't what I wanted, but what I NEEDED; and what I needed was inspiration;
We always talk about "the fire in the eyes" but after life hits you in so many ways it becomes a struggle just to keep the embers alive, let alone a roaring fire.
...
Over the months of rehearsals many were injured, many fell ill;
Bruised and battered we pressed on and fought hard, asking for nothing in return;
...
And last night, though it's not something literal that I can see, I could feel the wind and the intense heat from the burning passion that ignited in all of us;
As a family, we cheered each other on until our voices were gone; and even then we still cheered on;
...
This is what @thepassionatedancingelders is all about;
Being one at heart and one at mind;
Letting the fire in our soul burn, with our passion as coal to feed the flames.
...
With that said, thank you, Ryan for reminding us that we always have a lighthouse to guide us home;
Thank you committee & choreographers for being the beams of the lighthouse that lead the way;
And thank you Elders for reminding me what it's like to be home;
You guys are my inspirational, and the reason I choose to embrace my love for the arts;
May our fire and legacy continue to burn in the generations to come. 👏🏼👏🏼💪🏼
