It's been an emotionally taxing night.
We saw Baby H's mother place discarded cardboard boxes under his stroller. Their family has been locked out from their rented room today for failing to pay rent. They have to pay in full if they want to go back to get their belongings. Father has been desperately looking for a job, and has managed to get 2 interviews tomorrow.. but unfortunately, he doesn't have a single cent on him right now. The mother and her 2 children have been wandering around the city since morning as they had no where else to go. What's the amount he has to come up in order to ensure his family of four don't end up on the streets? Lapan puluh ringgit. RM80.
If he can't get the total, they will end up on the streets tonight. A 7 month old baby, 2+ year old toddler and his wife.
That's what the cardboards were for. To sleep on.
The father lost his job 2 weeks ago. Before this, he was working at the market for the past 2 years selling vegetables.
His money has run out and they were thrown out for not paying the room rental at rm20 per night. Murah sangat ke nilai perikemanusiaan?
Our hearts broke. Immediate thoughts went to our own children.
Imagine if soup kitchens were not operating. What will this family eat? Can you imagine 2 little children sleeping on the cardboard in the streets tonight, crying out of hunger?
We need your help to help them and those like them so that they will at least have food to eat.
