最近迷上一首歌 New song obsession

“Por Causa de Você, Menina” - Jorge Ben Dor

歌名的意思是「因為妳，女孩」。前幾次聽到都覺得很開心，後來看了歌詞才知道其實是有點悲情的單戀故事。好多葡萄牙文跟西班牙文的曲子都用很讓人想跳舞的節奏跟旋律來陳述一些傷心的事情，可能只是想為大家的生命帶來一點平衡。

The title is “Because of you, girl”. I initially thought this was a happy tune, but the googling the lyrics taught me that it’s actually about a rather tragic unrequited love. Ive found that many Portuguese and Spanish songs sing sad lyrics with a happy tune and rhythm. Mayhaps this is for a balance in life.

你知道嗎？【德國民謠遊子吟】

號稱全球第一男子美聲的英國團體「國王歌手」（King’s Singer）合唱團於大前天（5/7）抵達台灣，並於昨天晚上在國家音樂廳舉辦演唱會。而因應台南藝術節，「國王歌手」合唱團將會於今晚受邀至億載金城為南台灣的民眾獻唱，有興趣親耳聆聽的讀者們不妨抓緊機會。

「國王歌手」合唱團今年是第十度來台演出，因為今年恰逢母親節前夕，因此在演出的曲目中更是貼心的加入中文童謠《遊子吟》。你可能知道，《遊子吟》是唐代詩人孟郊的五言詩作。其內容敘述遊子對母愛的感激，因此不只被國小國語課本當作課文，連音樂課本也有教唱章節。不過，一般我們熟悉的兒歌《遊子吟》，旋律其實來自於德國作曲家布拉姆斯（Johannes Brahms）的《大學慶典序曲》（Academic Festival Overture, op. 80）。

儘管布拉姆斯於1877年拒絕了劍橋大學的榮譽音樂博士學位，但卻在1879年接受了弗羅茲瓦夫大學（University of Breslau）的榮譽博士學位，還為此創作了這首《大學慶典序曲》。他將四首在校園間聽到的校園民歌當作創作元素加入曲子裡面，對比布拉姆斯同個時期的《悲劇序曲》（Tragic Overture, op. 81），這兩首曲子被認為是「喜悲互補」的成對創作。而《遊子吟》的旋律，其實就是《大學慶典序曲》中採用德國校園民歌《我們建立巍峨校舍》（Wir hatten gebauet ein stattliches Haus）的旋律。

因此我們可以說《遊子吟》其實是德國民謠也不為過。其實同樣的例子在以前的音樂課本中並不罕見，例如李抱枕的《念故鄉》之於德佛札克（Antonin Dvorak）的《第九號交響曲「新世界」》、還有李叔同的《送別》之於奧德威（John P. Ordway）的《夢迴故里》（Dreaming of Home and Mother）。

這種將西曲填詞的方式讓學子們更早接觸古典音樂，一般認為是音樂教育家蕭而化先生的功勞。由於在音樂教育起飛的民國四、五零年代，時任教育部第一套國中音樂教科書編審委員的蕭而化先生了解在日據時代之後的台灣極度缺乏本土音樂創作人才，因此他將名家之筆作為歌詞的古典樂曲編入教科書，讓古典音樂更為親民、更加琅琅上口，同時也啟發了台灣人對音樂的認知。而布拉姆斯的《遊子吟》也是其中一例。

蕭而化先生不僅使音樂創作在台灣薪火相傳之外，如今國外的歌手更把這類中文填詞的古典音樂當作是在地特色。母親節將近，當然要演唱《遊子吟》，而不是《我們建立巍峨校舍》！
