EDCON 2019 (Community Ethereum Development Conference) is a non-profit global conference which will happen in Sydney, Australia on 8-14 April 2019. The purpose of the conference is to improve communication among various Ethereum communities and to promote Ethereum ecosystem development on a global scale. EDCON is organized as a conference series, once a year in different countries. The previous EDCONs were held successfully in ESCP Europe, Paris 2017, and Ryerson University, Toronto 2018 (both were organized by LinkTime, one of the Chinese Ethereum community representatives). The Ethereum Foundation and various Ethereum communities have been strongly supportive to this high-quality community conference.
Great changes will take place in EDCON 2019. This time, we will bring a greater event with more opportunities for attendees to communicate with great minds in this field and get involved in more interesting activities. You will see a total EDCON week which includes:
(1) EDCON HACK: a 48 hours event with non-stop creative storming for participants.
(2) EDCON Conference: a three-day conference including main conference, subconference, workshops, etc. Core Ethereum development teams will be invited to talk about the latest updates on Ethereum research and technology, and other pioneers in the field will share their thoughts on the current trends, projects and applications, as well as community building and development status.
(3) EDCON Fun day: a one-day outdoor activity. While this will no doubt be a great opportunity for network building between the community members, we would also like to provide the atmosphere in a more informal setting for everyone to relax after a week of hacking and sessions.
We sincerely welcome and invite friends from Ethereum communities worldwide to participate in this event. We welcome anyone to register to speak, and the topics collected will be reviewed by our consultant team to make sure that we are creating a top-quality event and can be as inclusive and fair as possible.

5 WEIRD JAPANESE FOOD TRENDS ON SOCIAL MEDIA
Japan has had quite a few weird or cool food trends over the years on social media (Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, etc), and in this video, we cover 5 of them!
1. Avocado & Ice Cream
- Trend in early 2015
- Usually vanilla ice cream
- Often served with soy sauce!
2. Raw Frozen Egg
- Trend in late 2014
- Yolk served semi-thawed
- Marinated in dashi, shaoxing wine & soy sauce
- Can be served with squid sashimi or sweet shrimps
3. Peaches & Mozzarella
- Trend in mid-2014
- Buffalo mozzarella
- Can be serve with balsamic, olive oil, salt, pepper & mint
- So popular it even inspired a Ritz peaches & mozzarella flavour
- We argue over peeled vs unpeeled fruit...
4. Mosaic Sushi
- Trending right now as of September 2016
- Several types of mosaic sushi but we focus on mosaic block sushi
- Pressed sushi squares organised into vibrant, tiled compositions
- You can use seaweed, raw fish, cucumber, egg, and other assorted delicacies on small cubes of rice
- Entirely edible artwork!
5. Butter Ping Cuisine
- Early 2015
- Can be any food that has butter on top and melted in the microwave
- Ping vs Ching vs Bing vs Ding?
- Gross or yummy?
- Oddest butter ping attempt: whole onion

RAMUNE PRANK FAIL ラムネ (JAPANESE MARBLE SODA)
Nina tries ramune for the first time, while Kento supervises. We try regular, melon & blueberry flavours.
Ramune is basically Japanese marble soda, a very famous Japanese soft drink.
Nina is determined to figure out how to drink ramune on her own, AND to get the marble inside. But that second part proved trickier.
Ramune goofiness ensues.
