Tsubaki, meaning Camellia Flower in Japanese became part of the name at the restaurant because of its relation to Spring, the season of abundance and joy which encourages gathering and good times, just like what Yama no Tsubaki aimed to do.

In this video, I headed down to Unagiya Ichinoya, tucked away in a quaint corner at Robertson Quay. Unagiya Ichinoya is a specialist Japanese restaurant that focuses on unagi (eel) bento. It also offers other classic Japanese fare like sashimi and wagyu beef.

For my platter, I was given unagi, A4 wagyu ribeye, squid, chicken wings and yakitori, all grilled masterfully over charcoal. Servings of ikiru and sashimi were also provided, after which all of these were plated around a bed of rice.

All in all, the platter was a beautiful sight to behold and the variety on the plate was inviting, although the strong flavour of unagi became rather tedious at the end. As a single portion, which comes in 3 beautifully plated sizes, the unagi bento is a true treat for those who appreciate distinct flavour and strong tradition.

Nakau is a popular Japanese fast food restaurant. I ordered 'Una Don Goukaimori'. Una means eel, Don is rice bowl and Goukaimori is dynamic. We Japanese has a tradition of eel on the Midsummer Day of the Ox for preventing summer heat fatigue. It's a bit pricey(1650 yen, about 15.5USD), but you can eat eel to your heart's content. The freeze dried okra and yam miso soup is delicious too.

ミシェランと同様に世界的に有名なグルメ本 ザガットサーベイでうなぎ部門しばらくずっと1位であった　うなぎ 尾花
その中で、宇宙一のうな重　と称賛されていたこの名店。オススメです。

白焼　5300円
うな重小　5300円
うな重大　6300円
肝吸い　400円

税込 1人約10000円

ちなみに、
11時半開店ですが10時くらいから並んでいるそうです。私達は11時20分位に行きましたがお昼のうなぎは後ろの方2名で売り切れでした。そのあといらした方々はお断りされていました。私達は2回転目でしたので約1時間ほど待ちました。
もしも行かれる方はご注意を！
