緝「病毒」犬開工

今年七月嘅時候，英國有非牟利組織（Medical Detection Dogs）進行小規模測試同訓練，發現狗可以從人類嘅汗味或者體味中聞到武漢病毒患者。然後英國、德國、法國同澳洲嘅專家分別研究嘅結果，發覺原來受過特殊訓之後，緝「病毒」犬嘅準確度可以去到84%以上。

結果芬蘭赫爾辛基機場就出現第一批緝病毒犬，而英國嘅Medical Detection Dogs聯同London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine加埋Durham University進行訓練，其中兩隻，Basil同Bob今日開始响Paddington Station投入服務「試工」。

It was a privilege to moderate a one-hour Webinar on the #COVID19 crisis and the benchmarks for a return to normal with a rockstar panel of global experts -- London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine professor David Heymann, Kroll (SEA) Managing Director and Head Reshmi Khurana, University of Hong Kong Dean of Medicine Gabriel Leung, and SingHealth Duke-NUS Global Health Institute Director Michael Merson.

We had a candid exchange on the path forward during the pandemic and the need for global #collaboration, #science-based policymaking, and #compassion (and action!) for the developing world.

This is the last ten minutes of the Webinar, when the panelists opened up about the personal impact of the pandemic. It's a reminder of our shared #humanity, and how this beast of a virus has humbled us all.

思浩大談英國特工醫療計畫，聞出感染者同吸毒者！(大家真瘋Show 2020)


英國慈善組織「醫療偵測犬」（Medical Detection Dogs）與倫敦衞生與熱帶醫學院（London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine）及杜倫大學（University of Durham）合作，研究能否利用狗檢測新冠病毒。研究人員指出，一定數量的病毒會改變感染者身上氣味，狗能嗅出當中分別。
香港01報導，「醫療偵測犬」2018年發表過類似研究報告，指出受過訓練的史賓格犬可在兒童襪子樣本嗅出感染到瘧疾氣味，以及識別出癌症及帕金森氏症患者。
