Basic Thangka Class Admissions:
Finally our school is open for admission again. To be honest, I became a little bit shrink back for new classes, which kept me delaying this post day after day until my captain repeatedly urging me to do so. The reason of my flinch is the hugh disappointment letting down by previous students that make me feel possibly thangka painting was a bit hard for city people, exspecially Hong Kong- a place mixtures of internation influrence, a place with not much tradtional or root passion, a place filled with working stress. Hong Kong people have no experience or habbits like tibetans, they do not born to have strong faith and patience. (nobody does) But I still believe Hong Kong people are itelligence, pure, and flexible of so much potentials, which I am hoping to see this time. (show me what you got, HK) I need to appologise to everybody who is interest, our school tradtionally required a interview, due to our inadequate space and time limit. Most importantly, I want to make sure who come to learn not coming for hobby classes. I am aiming “ONLY” to train future thangka artists that could pass the lineage or buddhists that are ready to benefit others.
Students requirements:
1) Buddhist/future Buddhist. (interested/ faith/right idea on dharma) A lot of people came and declare they are not buddhists, why leaning buddhism art? What is that suppose to mean?
2) Age 27-45 (for best concentration, patience, stability)
3) Humble to learn, open-minded; obedience.
4) Decent looking with sense of modern anc chic. (in order to nurture the new generation of Buddhists, to have outstanding qualities are benefits for good impression).
5) Good motivations.
6) Kind heart, open-minded, lovely personality, humor and willing to help others, gentles.
7) Have faith, willing to believe and love your teacher. (me). This is a very important point, in Tibetan Buddhism, we believe the trust on teacher can always bring success in studies. (you might search more information by my Chinese name or read all the previous posts in timeline to understand more about me)
I do not like students who are superstitious, super natural imagination, narrow minded, judgmental, proud, princess sickness, sarcastic, love gossips, and talks in big voices. (I think everybody don’t like too). If you think you fits all the qualities or few qualities in the above lists; or feeling positive to become like that; or simply love to visit our school and ask questions, don’t hesitate or shy to send me a private message inbox to make an appointment.
P.S: please don’t just visit without appointment due to our school unpredictable opening time, we are very happy to fullfil your curiosity on thangka painting cultures
Due to my health problems this time I authorizated Captain Mr Tim Tim to do all the main interviews, I will only meet the potential students in the second interview or people with special requirement)
(show me what you got, Hong Kong) .

Sir Isaac Newton's 1st Law of Motion:
"An object will remain at rest or in uniform motion in a straight line, unless compelled to change its state by an external force."
This reminds me of a how a vacant house has no Feng Shui influence to speak of. Unless a person comes in to stay.
The energy field from the human will stir up the energies dormant in the house.
This interaction will give rise to a good or bad pattern Feng Shui, that subsequently affects the occupant's life.
My job is to create good patterns and disrupt bad patterns.
People and their home Feng Shui cannot start, stop, or change direction all by themselves. It requires some force from the outside to catalyse a change.
I am like the external force as stated in the 1st Law.
But one of the greatest forces that I was taught early by Shifu to deal with...
Is the mental blocks in people.

I sometimes hear these from clients and readers.
"I am a logical person, so I am unsure what to think of Chinese Metaphysics."
This sounds like all geomancers are illogical people. 😄
No, we are thinking people too. Our parents didn't raise us up to be mystical beings like unicorns who poo rainbow.
The years we spend mastering our skills are in no way less comparable to your time in schools.
.

"I want to keep an open mind, and hear what you have to say."
I have mixed feelings about this phrase, open mind.
Are we getting too westernised in our education, that anything not taught in school is considered unorthodox?
And to understand Chinese Metaphysics, something that's unique to our Chinese culture, needs an open mind?
Must be stifling to live with a closed mind like that.
It sometimes sound like they are doing me a favour when they need to open their minds to listen to me speak. 😄
When I probe further to ask what lead to their clamped minds, I get different answers.
Some blame it on their bad experiences with certain Feng Shui practitioners.
Some had parents/friends/spouses who learnt Chinese Metaphysics, yet these people aren't successful in any way for them to look up to.
A bad student doesn't always mean the teacher is lousy or the school sucks.
Others couldn't give me a logical answer. They just follow-the-herd.
In other words, it was an emotional decision for them to disregard our ancestral ancient wisdom.
Nothing logical about it.

"I am a scientific person, but I believe there is more to Science in this universe. So I'm somewhat curious about what Feng Shui can do for me."
I'm happy that you are making space to take in new knowledge. But some questions.
What Science did you study?
Only those developed by the Western civilisations?
How long and how much did you study?
How about the science that is developed by our ancestors?
Or are you so Ang-Mohdified that you only accept science from the Western world and not those from our roots?
If you formulate a hypothesis that Chinese Metaphysics is woowoo talk, what experiments have you carried out, how many and under what conditions?
Who monitors the experiments and how qualified is the person? Who are your test subjects? What is your sample size?
Or you assume your hypothesis stands as a well-established theory, without all these testing?
That would be disgracefully illogical, my Friend, and no way will you qualify to declare yourself as a scientific person.
Modern science is only about 400 years old.
Chinese Metaphysics spans over 5000 years.
How can a 400-year-old understand something as dense and complex as a 5000-year-old?
I hail from a pure Science background.
If you had spent the same effort as I did, learning from the right Teachers, you too would realise the Science in Chinese Metaphysics, instead of saying "there is more to Science".
Chinese Metaphysics is more scientific than modern Science in so many ways.
If only you know the experiments our ancestors did on themselves to establish this great vault of knowledge to benefit humanity.
My advice: don't be too quick to label others as unscientific or superstitious, when you know and did nothing.
.
I particularly like this example quoted by a well-known TCM professor and physician, Prof Fan Zheng Lun. He is from China and has about 40 years of clinical experience. He has also appeared in several TV shows to talk about his experience.
He used this simple example to illustrate the difference in TCM and Western Medicine, to students in Beijing University:
My translation:
"When I was lecturing to the students in Beijing University, they asked me what the difference in Chinese Medicine and Western Medicine is.
Simply put, when you buy a watermelon in summer, you want to get a good one. Whether you know how to do it or not, you will hold the watermelon up, and knock on it. You will listen to the sound and examine it.
What are you looking at? You are looking, listening, questioning and feeling the pulse (TCM four ways of diagnosis), aren't you?
I say, if it's a very experienced and veteran watermelon farmer, he would not even need to knock on the watermelon. With a single look, he can tell you that this melon is raw and that melon is ripe. Why? He observes its appearance, and he knows it in his mind.
What does Western medicine do?
They will either cut it up to examine, or extract some liquid from the stem, the top, and the middle part of the melon. The liquids will be sent to the laboratory for analysis, and then they will tell you this melon is ripe and this melon is sweet.
If you ask him whether the melon flesh is firm or mushy, he will need to do an X-ray to know.
But not the veteran watermelon farmer. When he figures out the production place of the watermelon and the climatic weather of this year, he will dare to tell you that this melon has firm and crunchy flesh.
That is the difference between Chinese Medicine and Western Medicine."
A western approach is not always the best way to understand everything.
It is also not the ONLY way to make sense of the world around us.
If you have been misunderstanding our Chinese ancestral wisdom, I say it's high time to build new neural pathways.
We have high brain plasticity.
Live like you own it.
Don't look down on the wisdom of our Chinese ancestors.
I don't subscribe to nonsense like things are fated.
It is always the people that refuse to change.

There are many schools of thoughts when it comes to Feng Shui.
Different practitioners use different methods to get a Feng Shui audit done
Whose methodology works best?
The one that brings you the results your little heart desires.
Let me share with you how I work.
When I'm at your place for a Feng Shui audit, you have to give me at least 2 hours.
For I am going to poke my nose into almost every single space in your lovely home.
I audit every.single.room, even the place where you do your business.
I have heard from clients that some Feng Shui Masters they engaged say interior design doesn't matter, so they do not check every room and only spent half the time I did.
The commando way I have been trained, every living compartment in the home matters.
Having an audit done by me is almost like attending a mini Feng Shui workshop.
So make sure both you and your spouse are present, with both taking notes down. More often than not, one party would overlook certain pointers as he/she gets too engrossed in what I am rattling.
You spend good money to get me in, don't waste it.
I explain to you how your home Feng Shui cause you and your family certain problems.
I give you time to whine and grumble about your life.
I sometimes play a mediator between quarrelsome couples.
I hear you out on your parenting difficulties or those headaches you have with your maid(s)... or in-laws. 😏
Along the way, I tell you what and where you did wrong.
Most importantly, I give you the solutions, enhancements and remedies.
In areas where most people lose their hair over like...
* Marriage stability
* Career progress
* Children
* Education
* Wealth accumulation
* Health
* Family Harmony
* Sleep quality
(I don't peddle auspicious ornaments by the way.)
Most of you would be familiar with those areas above but there are more.
E.g why does your child always wake up screaming in the middle of the night?
How do you know if your Husband harbour lusty intentions towards another woman e.g. domestic helper or someone in his workplace?
Why do you always get pains in your body for no reason?
Why can't you and your spouse agree on anything?
How can you get your children to be more focused in learning and be easier to care for?
What can you do to plug the wealth leaking away from your home?
Why can't you secure a single interview, despite sending a hundred resumes?
Why are you in so much business debts?
Why do you not get the credit and recognition you deserve?
Why do you always feel lost in life?
Etc...
Some people tell me they don't want to get a Feng Shui audit done because they want to be free and not be restricted by some "old superstitious stuff".
Ostrich syndrome. The worst lie is when you lie to yourself that everything is okay and deny yourself of further progress.
Just because we can't see UV rays with our naked eyes does not mean they do not exist.
A smart man will go understand the modus operandi of UV rays and work his way around it. Not dumb dumbly go expose himself to UV rays only to be stricken with skin cancer later.
You will surprised at many misconceptions people have about Chinese Metaphysics, despite being highly educated and holding managerial positions. #ignoranceblinds #discriminationkills
For me, getting a Feng Shui audit done is not the most difficult part.
Communicating to the client is.
It is not always easy to be the one dashing their dreams and visions, when those hopes clash with Feng Shui principles.
Most people don't like to hear bad things about their home.
👉 Even if they know it does not have good Feng Shui.
Sometimes clients have exhausted $XXXXX on their renovations and they dread hearing my conclusion that they have done it all wrong in the first place.
Honey, remember this. I will always give a solution and an explanation.
.
Question #1:
If I have gotten a Feng Shui Master to select my property from floor plans, is it guaranteed to have good Feng Shui?
My answer:
No. There's a chance it won't. An onsite audit is the most accurate. For the directions, landforms, views, air quality, light and environmental sound are factors that we can't determine from a paper floor plan.
Think of it like a dating agency. Just because the dating agency pairs you up with someone of your chosen traits, good education, five-figure income, great looks etc doesn't ensure 100% compatibility right?
But something is still better than nothing. Some layouts are taboo. A layman wouldn't know what to look out for and assesses it merely by his/her limited logic.
So getting the layout right is still a crucial part of this Feng Shui jigsaw puzzle.
.
Question #2:
So now what? I'm stuck with a property the Feng Shui Master chosen from the floor plan and now another Feng Shui master say it's not good. #dielah #alldiefor5years
My answer:
Don't get pessimistic. Before you start on your renovations, get a Feng Shui Master that you trust and has a proven track record to mend things from the inside.
If the layout is good, there are still many ways to effect the positive change you want.
If the unit is really undesirable, it may not give you 100%. But a resourceful Feng Shui Master can still raise the bar to perhaps 65-80%, depending on the condition of the Feng Shui.
Not all is lost. If you really have to sell it after 5 years, you may still profit and upgrade next time. So don't get all gloomy over bricks and mortar. It's just a house. You don't have to die inside it. Don't get all drama.
.
Question #3:
I want an open-concept kitchen. It's hip. I also want to tear down the walls of a room so that it can function as my walk-in wardrobe in my master bedroom. My MBR is too cramped. Do I still need Feng Shui advice for this?
My answer:
ABSOLUTELY! Not every Bazi can withstand an open-concept kitchen. Not every marriage can endure the wall-less concept.
Our homes play a pivotal role in transforming our destiny. What is vogue and pretty can do you more harm than good in your marriage and personal luck.
Don't be like that old Uncle who just withdraws his CPF monies and falls for a young pretty China lass. Looks can rob.
I understand that compulsive urge to do up your home the way you have always dreamt of.
But if you have already decided to engage me, that marks your first baby step to turning things around for yourself and your family.
So don't succumb to your fate that easily.
Listen very well to what I have to tell you.
This giant red packet marks the 4th angpow I received within a week that has the word 福 on it.
It's a sign that I'm here to bestow fortune upon you and your family, not to ruin it.
