1️⃣Avocado 🥑 Salmon Tartines(add on item +$55)
The avocado slices are of good quality👍🏻The ripeness of it is just perfect and the texture goes well with the oil of smoked salmon❤️Great appetiser to start your day🌞

2️⃣French duck breast with French fries🍟 ($135)
The pan-seared duck breast looks so attractive😍 The edge of it is crispy💓and the seasoning is just right👍🏻A pinch of salt and pepper goes well with the duck breast🔥

3️⃣Ribeye steak with French fries 🍟 ($138)
Amongst all the steak 🥩 that I have eaten, this one is at average level. The doneness of the steak is well-controlled and texture of the steak is okay 👌🏻. For the taste, the gravy is a bit milder than I expected. I prefer stronger seasoning in it🙈

4️⃣Pan fried banana 🍌 Caramel French crêpe($55)
This dessert surprises me💓 Love the glazed banana pieces with crispy texture outside. The sauce tastes like a mixture of Caramel and Taffy😍 They are super sweet on their own but goes perfect with the vanilla ice cream 🍨 and crêpe. This simple but nice dessert puts an end to our French dining experience🙌🏻

風和日麗,去咗羲和雅苑食烤鴨配爆炸糖加朋友帶支陳年香檳做下午茶!無敵維港靚景配烤鴨,周末快樂!其實佢有多款配料襯烤鴨,但係爆炸糖係襯烤鴨皮食,感覺好香好蘇好有趣。一鴨分三個位置食,先食皮、再食胸然後食腿,香檳酸度減去鴨嘅肥膩感,陳年香檳嘅香氣同層次唔會比鴨蓋過, 好豪華嘅下午茶!
What a sunny day! Have a wonderful afternoon tea at Xi He Ya Yuan Peking Duck Restauranf with Peking duck & vintage champagne brought by friend! What a great Victoria Harbour View to pair with Peking duck! There r many sauces to eat with Peking duck including exploding popcorn candies! The exploding candies r supposed to match with the crispy skin, then u start to eat the breast and then leg with other sauces. Vintage champagne goes well with Peking duck in a hot summer day! The duck meat won’t kill the complex notes of vintage champagne! What a luxurious afternoon tea! Happy weekend!

Double Shots Expresso – My sacred breakfast spot.
For many of us, having a delicious breakfast on the weekend is like a religion, it heals you and you are cured. All the stressful and tightened nerves are loosen right after a sip of the double shot expresso. It is a simple philosophy – Worse your week went; the greater joy you will receive by a scrumptious breakfast.
If you asked me what was the most delicious food I had ever tasted? Without any hesitation, my heart goes Duck Breast dish in Dish of Byron Bay in 2009 which Chef Michael de Laurence had brought me my first “Eyes roll up” experience. And it is almost heart broken to know this two out of the four-hatted restaurant was unfortunately closed down during the GFC in 2010; since then I could only recall this heavenly favour in my dream!
Not until recently, I had found that same sensation again several times when I started to set my foot to this New Farm café - Double Shot Expresso.
I once seriously thought they MUST have some fairies cooking for them as it has a world’s tiniest kitchen I have never seen. All the dishes are just magically presented to you by a staff with a warm but apologetic smile saying “ So sorry for keep you waiting!” YES, that is the fact, I often waited 40 minutes for a dish during their peak time and trust me for the person like me who has a middle name “No Patience” that is a huge deal! But let me tell you folks, it is the most worthy 40 minutes time I had ever waited. And if you think I am alone, you are wrong, the house is packed! And trust me, we know what we are doing!
Remember those moment you rolled your eyes up and thought you are having an orgasm, the good news is, in here, you don’t even have to pretend you are having one, you will actually get one, well, with food of course! The corn bread, the chicken terrine, the duck paté, the flaky pastry, even the supporting actor of the dish capsicum pickles, the list goes on and on….. They are doing what people often say “all make sense”!
And guess who made all these possible, here I present to you - Chef Michael de Laurence and Owner Ross Skinner! What can I say, you guys had done it again! For me, those eyes roll up moments all made senses now!
Caution! For those whom had been here, please stop telling people how good this place is, I think 40 minutes is long enough to wait!!!
