So a couple days ago this happened...DeMarcus “Boogie” Cousins joined the Golden State Warriors, an off season move that no one saw coming. In the NBA, the players play the game of basketball while the owners and GM’s play the game of making teams. Being a 15 year veteran of Fantasy League Basketball, who finally won my league this year, I really appreciate this aspect of the sport as well. It’s a lot like chess and Warriors GM Bob Meyers made the ultimate checkmate move here. While the whole world was trying to figure out where @kingjames was going and what kind of super team the #Lakers would be, Meyers pulled a fast one on everybody. Now the Warriors have 5 all stars on one single team!!!! It’s absolutely bonkers. At first my reaction was like, this is silly and getting to be totally unfair. But can you blame Bob? If everyone is gunning for your spot, you gotta protect your shit right? As @50cent likes to say, “time to get the strap!” And Boogie Cousins is one hell of a strap. Although I am going to miss @javalemcgee very much, I can’t wait till October to see if this theoretically brilliant move will actually work because at the end of the day it’s about the players and if they can actually play together. What are your thoughts on this? I especially want to hear from non GS fans. What was your reaction?
