THE VULVA FLOWER 🌸
The censorship of our bodies, the ‘offensiveness’ of the female anatomy hurt us all. I’m not talking about our identities, and feminism, or even politics.
I’m talking about women who fear going for Pap smears and check ups, who’re scared to tell their parents they have infections and don’t know what to do, who don’t know about HPV vaccines, and birth control, and put themselves in danger, because society shames our bodies, shames what makes us women, shame what makes us sacred and amazing, and different from men.
I hesitated a little speaking up about this because I had been closely working with @kotexmy on some campaigns, and understood the terms we’re bound by when we work, but when I talked to the representatives down at Kotex, they reassured me that this fight, our fight, is so much bigger than just brands and work. 😭💖
I’m so so happy to be in a place where I can collaborate with people who give me the freedom to stand up for what I believe in, and lend power and voice through me, and recognise in the big picture, we’re all fighting for the same thing. ✨
Our bodies are not shameful, neither are they offensive, nor sexual. Our bodies are strong, wondrous, incredible things that possess the gift of giving life, and it should be celebrated by all, especially other women ✨
I am truly comforted by the idea that in their act to censor our bodies, they accidentally blew the issue up, and ironically it blew back in their faces. 😉 when they come for us, they come for us all, so don’t be surprised when we bite back.

My period pain started since my teen years, I only started taking painkiller when necessary at 20, usually the first two days only.
I’m the first in my group to see a gynae years ago. My gynae told me that my pain is incurable bcuz of how my uterus is naturally grown a little backwards. The only solution is to give birth to readjust the position of my uterus but guess who’s not giving birth now? Painkiller is my only option to carry on with life.
I do my checkup yearly. I took my vaccine, I made my gynae run so many tests that I didn’t need. She ruled out fibroids, cyst and endometriosis which I highly suspect I have one of them but no.
I went to see Chinese medicine doctor. The first thing she asked me was how is my uterus position on ultrasound. I told her it’s a little backwards. She agreed that giving birth is the only way. Lmao. She gave me Chinese medicine to take for 2months, they didn’t work.
I went back to my gynae for check up again. She said it was all good, very fertile but my PCOS is back. My gynae doesn’t believe in Chinese/Malay remedies, she told me not to simply take any remedies but I believe in what I believe cuz I always do my research first. I do take Chinese medicine. Anyway, she let me try contraceptive pills. I had high hope for this to work. First month, the pills were too mild, I started spotting. Second month, I changed new pills and took them for 3months. Best 3months in my life cuz there was no pain. Period only came 2months after I stopped the pill which was dreadfully painful. I won’t be continuing on the pills bcuz it’s not the solution I want for my body.
So now, I’m going to try new supplements and work on regulating my emotions.
Girls, start doing papsmear and go for your yearly checkup. Google about PCOS, endometriosis, ovarion cyst, uterine fibroids, HPV++, learn more and protect yourself. Take care of our precious body ❤️
