At xiaomei and didi age, there is so many things we need to do in order to capture their attention to eat.
Tips
1. Eat together, because when your child sees that you are eating variety of food this will encourage them to do so. It also helps in bonding.
2. Use bright and colorful utensils as kids are more attracted to it.
3. Encourage eating by cooking in different ways. One example for my kids is Chinese huai shan. They tend to eat more when I stir fry it compared to the soup version.
4. Let them feed themselves. No matter what method u are using for weaning, it is always good to let them explore self feeding. Messiness is part and parcel of toddler's life. 🤣 That's why u have bibs and mats
5. Set meal times consistent. So that they will look forward to their meal time.
Lastly, keep your expectations low. It's not possible for a toddler to eat like an adult. 🤣 enjoy the "mess" while it last.

クリーミーカレーうどん
1人分
材料:
■カレーうどん
冷凍うどん 1玉
豚バラ肉薄切り(3cm幅) 80g
長ねぎ(斜め薄切り) 1/4本
水 250ml
めんつゆ(2倍濃縮) 大さじ3
カレールウ(刻む) 20g
片栗粉 小さじ1
■じゃがいもムース
じゃがいも(角切り) 1個
生クリーム 100ml
卵白 1個分
塩 少々
青のり 適量
作り方:
1.ボウルにじゃがいもを入れ、ふんわりラップをかけて600Wの電子レンジで2-3分加熱する。
2.ミキサーに(1)、生クリームを加え、なめらかになるまで混ぜる。(ミキサーがない場合はマッシャーで潰してからザルでこす。)
3.別のボウルに卵白、塩を入れてツノが立つまで泡立て、(2)に加えてさっくりと混ぜ合わせる。混ざったら絞り袋に移す。
4.うどんを作る。ボウルに水、めんつゆ、カレールウ、片栗粉を入れて軽く混ぜる。
5.冷凍うどん、豚肉、長ねぎを入れ、ふんわりラップをかけて600Wの電子レンジで7-8分加熱する。
6.よくかき混ぜて器に盛り、表面全体に(3)を絞る。仕上げに青のりをかけたら、完成!

Creamy Curry Udon
Servings: 1
INGREDIENTS
■Potato mousse
1 potato (diced)
100ml heavy cream
1 egg white
A pinch salt
■Curry udon noodle soup
1 pack frozen udon
80g sliced pork belly (cut into 3cm pieces)
1/4 leek (sliced)
250ml water
3 tablespoons noodle soup base (double concentrate)
20g curry roux (chopped)
1 teaspoon potato starch
Some dried seaweed flakes
PREPARATION
1. Put potato pieces in a bowl and plastic-wrap it loosely. Microwave at 600W for 2 to 3 minutes.
2. Blend the potato(1) and heavy cream in a food processor until smooth.
3. In a separate bowl, whisk egg white and salt to stiff peaks. Pour into (2), and stir lightly. Transfer to a piping bag.
4. To make curry udon noodle soup, mix water, noodle soup base, curry roux and potato starch in a bowl.
5. Add frozen udon, pork belly and leek into the bowl. Plastic-wrap it loosely, microwave for 7 to 8 minutes at 600W, then mix well.
6. Transfer udon (5) to a bowl, pipe potato cream (3) on top of curry udon. Sprinkle with dried seaweed flakes.
7. Enjoy!

じゃがバタカレー
4人分
材料:
豚こま切れ肉 250g
玉ねぎ(くし切り) 1個
じゃがいも 4個
にんじん(乱切り) 1/2本
にんにく(みじん切り) 1片
サラダ油 大さじ1
水 800ml
カレールウ 100g
ケチャップ 大さじ1
ウスターソース 大さじ1
コンソメ 小さじ1
バター 40g
ご飯 適量
作り方:
1.フライパンにサラダ油、にんにくを入れて火にかけ、香りが立ったら豚肉を加えて炒める。肉の色が変わったら、玉ねぎ、にんじんを加えて炒める。
2.玉ねぎがしんなりしたら、水、コンソメを加える。煮立ったらアクを取り除き、蓋をして弱火で15-20分煮込む。
3.野菜が煮えたら一旦火を止め、カレールウ、ケチャップ、ウスターソースを加えて混ぜ合わせる。
4.カレールウが溶けたら再び弱火にかけ、10分ほど煮込む。
5.じゃがいもはよく洗い、皮付きのまま2/3の深さまで十字に切り込みを入れる。濡らしたキッチンペーパーで包んでからラップで包み、600Wの電子レンジで5-6分加熱する。(竹串がスッと通るまで加熱する。)
6.皿にご飯を盛って(4)をかけ、(5)をのせて切り込みにバターをのせたら、完成!

Servings: 4
INGREDIENTS
Thinly sliced pork 250g
Onion 1
Potato 4
Carrot 1/2
Garlic 1
Vegetable oil
800ml water
Curry roux 100g
Ketchup 1tbsp
Worcester sauce 1tbsp
Consomme 1tsp
Butter 40g
Cooked Rice
PREPARATION
1. Heat oil and garlic in a pan. Add pork when garlic is soften. Once pork browned, add onion and carrot, then stir fry them all together.
2. When onion is soften, add water and stock cube. Skim off the scum and fat from soup when it's boiled. Simmer over low heat for 15 to 20 mins with a lid on.
3. Turn off the heat when vegetables are done, add curry roux, ketchup and worcester sauce and mix well.
4. After curry roux is melted, turn the heat back to low to simmer 10 more minutes.
5. Scrub potato well. Keep skin. Prick potato with a fork (or make a shallow
cross cut, so it doesn't explode and cooks evenly). Wrap a potato with a wet paper towel first then cling wrap, and microwave it on 600W for 5 to 6 mins.
6. Put steamed white rice on a plate, pour curry (4) over, and place the potato (5) with butter on top.
7. Enjoy!
