Sharing my favourite way to open my shoulders with the wheel. Nothing fancy, yet super effective. Ground your hips down, hug the elbows in and slowly walk your hands down with your breath.

🎡 Wheel Pose – #UrdhvaDhanurasana – Backbend is always my favorite. I am flexible but I am not naturally bendy like many yogis on Instagram, I never can hoist myself up into the pose without any warm-ups. 🙌🏽🤸🏽♀️ In fact, preparations are very important (and effective) for backbends. Warming and opening your body can help you get into the pose with less effort and most importantly, prevent injuries. ✖️🤕✖️

Seeing myself walking the feet a little closer to the hands day after day makes me feel fulfilled and achieved. 😆✌🏽 I know it looks like a walking dead running around when you see a yogi walking in their wheel pose #yogiknowsbest 🤣 You never know how good it feels after a deep backbend if you never try!🤸🏽♀️💕

My tip: Brace a pair of blocks against the wall and put either your hands or feet on them, have a taste of how it feels in a full backbend with support. 💛🙌🏽

Beginner class at 7pm to 8pm in Sheung Wan every Monday:
•This class is primarily for beginners or people have zero experience with yoga
• Traditional yoga style (Iyengar, alignment base)
• Will use props like straps and blocks to assist students in achieving the right form of each pose
〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰〰Level One Class at 8pm to 9pm in Central every Tuesday
• This class is suitable for students who have been practicing yoga for at least 3 months
• This class will challenge students with some intermediate poses and will train students to go deeper into poses which may already be familiar
• Students in the class should be able to do push-ups
• Wheel pose and dolphin pose might be required
