Hope in Jesus Alone
“As you don’t know what is the way of the wind, nor how the bones grow in the womb of her who is with child; even so you don’t know the work of God who does all. In the morning sow your seed, and in the evening don’t withhold your hand; for you don’t know which will prosper, whether this or that, or whether they both will be equally good.” (Ecclesiastes 11:5-6 WEB)
Don’t put your hope and confidence in a certain something, whether it be a project, an investment, a person, an organization.
It is true that you don’t know which will prosper, whether this or that, or whether they both will be equally good.
When we start justifying with our mind and natural reasoning to support why something will surely work out, it is dangerous. The Book of Proverbs says that there is a way that seems right to a man, but it is a way that leads to death.
When that thing you are hoping in falls apart, you will be crushed if you placed all your hope and confidence in it. It is unwise to trust in temporal, visible things in this fallen world.
Let us put all our hope and confidence in the Lord Jesus. He is the eternal one that we can trust.
We do not know the way God works and many times, we have to just be okay with not knowing. Just believe that He is working on your situation.
When we have faith in Jesus, we will not be trusting in the individual methods. Our confidence will be in the one who blesses the work of our hands, and who gives us favor in the way that we go. No matter what He places His favor on, that is what will prosper. Be wise and keep your hope only in Him!
Keep studying God’s word and growing in your understanding of His ways. Our Patreon community is currently on a Bible study series called “My Faith Declarations” which looks at the Spirit-inspired utterances of the authors of the Psalms. They wrote about the trials and tribulations they experienced, so the book of Psalms is very relatable.
By turning their faith declarations into our own, we can learn how to overcome similar circumstances in life through faith in the Lord! End the Cycle of Defeat
“Therefore we are always confident and know that while we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord; for we walk by faith, not by sight. We are courageous, I say, and are willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be at home with the Lord. Therefore also we make it our aim, whether at home or absent, to be well pleasing to him.” (2 Corinthians 5:6-9 WEB)
This world goes by sight—only believing what it can observe by the five senses and man’s tools.
However, we who are of faith trust God’s word and know that there are spiritual realities that our minds cannot comprehend. Even though we cannot see it, we believe it to be real.
Every moral failure or repeated sin cycle can be traced back to neglecting prayer and meditation on God’s word.
It is a result of feeding too much on the world, such that you trust the five senses and are steered by the flesh.
If you feel burnt out, spiritually sluggish, and depressed, you can fix it by drinking lots of the water of God’s word. Let it rehydrate your soul and refresh you.
Instead of crashing from one ‘I’m sorry Lord, please forgive me’ cycle to another because you are low on spiritual fuel, why not fill up your tank until it is full?
It is time to pray and meditate on God’s word. Talk to Jesus, and see Him in the Scriptures. The power for a Christian to prosper in all things, be healthy, and have a prospering soul, comes from constantly receiving the abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness.
It cannot be overemphasized. In order to walk in faith, we must feed ourselves with faith-food: God’s word.
Maybe you have grown accustomed to the taste of the world’s food. It has a menu of entertainment to tickle the senses and indulge the cravings of the flesh.
But God’s word is true, rich food that nourishes you. It is sweet like honey because God’s promises towards you are so good. Eat it every day, just like you take meals at regular timings!

Fullness of Joy
“Preserve me, God, for in you do I take refuge. My soul, you have said to Yahweh, “You are my Lord. Apart from you I have no good thing.” As for the saints who are in the earth, they are the excellent ones in whom is all my delight.
Their sorrows shall be multiplied who give gifts to another god. Their drink offerings of blood I will not offer, nor take their names on my lips. Yahweh assigned my portion and my cup. You made my lot secure.
The lines have fallen to me in pleasant places. Yes, I have a good inheritance. I will bless Yahweh, who has given me counsel. Yes, my heart instructs me in the night seasons. I have set Yahweh always before me. Because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved. Therefore my heart is glad, and my tongue rejoices. My body shall also dwell in safety. For you will not leave my soul in Sheol, neither will you allow your holy one to see corruption. You will show me the path of life. In your presence is fullness of joy. In your right hand there are pleasures forever more.” (Psalms 16:1-11 WEB)
Are you wondering who is “Yahweh”? This English rendering comes from the four Hebrew letters, yud hei vav hei, which spell the name of the triune Godhead. When pronounced in Hebrew, it would sound like “Yahweh”.
Whenever Bible translations put “LORD” in all capital letters, it indicates that they had swapped the original yud hei vav hei for LORD.
When you call “LORD”, no one knows which one you are addressing, but thankfully many portions of Scripture in the original Hebrew language makes it clear that when you put your trust in Yahweh, you will be saved.
Before Christ came to earth as a man with the name Jesus, salvation was received by placing one’s faith in the name of Yahweh.
Just as we are saved by believing and confessing Jesus (Yeshua) as our Lord today, our predecessors who lived before Christ was born were saved by believing and confessing Yahweh as their Lord.
It has always been salvation by grace through faith, for no one can earn salvation through works.
When you read the beautiful passage above, what especially jumps out at you? For me, it is that in God’s presence is fullness of joy.
It seems like many people are bound by wrong believing, such that they are afraid of God, and they pray with a ‘feeling not good enough’, fearing and trembling attitude.
They don’t have the revelation like David does. No wonder God called David “a man after My own heart”. David understood God’s love and grace, even though he was a man who lived under the dispensation of the Law. Yet, he had a personal relationship with God that allowed him to see the heart of God.
Think about it—everything that gives you true pleasure in this world, didn’t God create them? He is the Creator who makes things that bring joy and pleasure, for He is full of joy and every good thing.
When you pray, envision a happy God who is smiling and excited to hug you and bless you with good things.
““He arose, and came to his father. But while he was still far off, his father saw him, and was moved with compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him.” (Luke 15:20 WEB)
Never has Abba God been depicted to be in a hurry, except in Jesus’ parable of the prodigal son. The only time He runs is to hug and kiss His wayward son who has returned home. He runs to show you that He loves you.
Wrong believing causes us to run in the opposite direction, afraid that He is in a hurry to punish us for our sins.
Why don’t you run into your loving heavenly Father’s arms today? Thank Him for His grace, love, favor, and blessings. Experience the fullness of joy in His presence and pleasures in His right hand forevermore!

Driving your friend of the opposite gender home “because it’s late.” Watching that movie because you’re sure you can ‘handle’ those steamy scenes. Been there before, thought you had everything under control, only to have things go completely outta hand?
God gets us with all our human failings…and that’s why His advice to FLEE sexual immorality (see 1 Cor. 6:18)—to RUN from it—is still legit today.
Watch and see how God isn’t a dictator denying you pleasure, but your loving Father who wants you to live a life unbridled by the shame of failing in this area. Even if you feel like you’ve failed here before (and we know it’s no laughing matter), God wants to help you find victory over it moving forward. Trust us when we say this 3-minute clip is pretty life-changing!

As kids, it might’ve been the imaginary monsters under our beds or those unyielding thunderstorms that kept us up at night. As we got older, we started losing sleep over other things: Our futures (or the lack thereof), or our past mistakes catching up with us.
But friend, whatever fears you have today, know that you’ve a heavenly Father who’s gone before you into your future and called it good, who walks with you in your every day, and who covers your past with His glory too (see Jer. 29:11, Isa. 58:8).
Would you tell Him, “Daddy God, I surrender my fears to You, and trust in You today?”
