It's World Pangolin Day!
Pangolins are covered with scales from top to toe, except for their face, throat, belly, tail tip and inner part of four limbs. One pangolin consumes roughly seven million ants and termites per year. The animal is a super anteater! 🐜🐜🐜
There are eight species of pangolins around the world, four in Asia and the other four in Africa. On the red list of IUCN, three of the eight species are listed as critically endangered, with the other three endangered and two vulnerable. The main causes are poaching and deforestation. In China and Vietnam, many people still believe that pangolins’ scales are effective medicine and thus consume the animal to near extinction.
Of course the belief is nonsense. Pangolins’ scales are composed of keratin, just as human nails. If you find someone boasting about what magical effects of pangolin scales, tell them to nibble their own nails!
From the recent coronavirus outbreak, we can see that wildlife is the reservoir host of many unknown viruses. Eating wild animals might cost your life!
🌱How to help pangolins?
You can consume environmental friendly farm produce, report illegal traps, report poaching and trafficking, slow down when driving in rural areas, never abandon your pets, never let your dogs off leashes, never feed stray dogs, and thus keep Taiwan a safe home for pangolins and all the other wildlife.

Millions on lockdown in Wuhan, China. Will this coronavirus be a pandemic outbreak? We watched V-Wars on Netflix last month, somehow it's scary to relate the show with this real story. Not just V-Wars, Zombie Apocalypse, Resident Evil, I am Legend and many other fiction stories/movies came into mind as this outbreak becomes worsen. We have no vampires, zombie, monsters or aliens, but we have a contagious airbone virus that is mutating, infecting and cause unfortunate deaths. Preliminary research so far mentioned that the suspected cause is due to consuming or in contact with illegally trade wildlife originated from one of the market in Wuhan. The virus is becoming stronger, spreading and many deaths are on the rise. Please take care wherever you are. Be safe.
On a side note, over the years, sadly, the world is not doing well and our Earth is dying, slowly. Highly infected virus spreading, forest on fire, ice is melting down (global warming), deterioration of wild animals and extinction of many species, demand more than supply for food, mostly animals, and the list is getting longer day by day.
As of today, in the year 2020, we, human, still the superior species on Earth, able to do so many things and rule what we want. Unfortunately, we are the most selfish species on Earth to date. We do, eat, take what we want. Greed and power consume some of us.
Let's try and improve what we can and be a better human being not just for ourselves and family, but for the planet. Start by reduce, reuse and recycle what we can. Teach our children and friends about life, love, beauty of other lives and animals. Life is not just about continue our legacy through our children if we can't show and guide them the value of humanity. Start now. Time is ticking.
With travel temporarily halted, we decided to explore the hidden gems within Singapore. Join us as we explore Thomson Nature Park, the 50-hectare buffer park unique for its rich cultural heritage as the site of a former Hainan Village. Thomson Nature Park is also home to a rich array of biodiversity and is notably a key conservation site for the critically endangered Raffles’ Banded Langur.
There are five trails within this park: Ruins and Figs Trail (1.50km), Streams and Ferns Trail (1.40km), Rambutan Trail (0.40km), Langur Trail (0.35km), and Macaque Trail (0.15km). Although we weren't fortunate enough to spot the elusive Raffles' Banded Langur on our multiple trips here, we did manage to catch wild boars and plenty of cheeky macaques.
May our videos be a form of escapism and source of zen for you, and encourage you to appreciate the little, simple things in life. Even in these turbulent times, there is still much beauty in this world if we keep our hearts and minds open.

This museum is located by Tsuyama castle, it's easy for you to find it.
This museum named TSUYAMA WONDER MUSEUM opened in 1963 as the natural scientific museum.Many kind of curious and rare stuffed animals such as Amur leopard, Polar bear, Snowy owl and Galapagos giant tortoise more than 800 units are displayed.In addition, Fossils, Minerals, Shells, Insects, and Human bodies are displayed panoramically. Total number of units are more than 20,000.Specially, the Human real organs such as brain, heart, lung, kidney, lever are displayed by the founder(Mr. Keizo Morimoto)’s will.The museum buildings ware school houses before, and modified to the museum show rooms.
