【Today is World Humanitarian Day】
In 2008, the United Nations General Assembly designated 19 August as World Humanitarian Day in honour of the 22 colleagues who lost their lives in the bombing of the UN Headquarters in Baghdad five years earlier.
On World Humanitarian Day we honour and pay tribute to all humanitarian personnel who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the service of peace and humanity.
