สำหรับคนที่เตรียมจะซื้อ PS5 น่าจะทราบกันแล้วว่าเครื่องมีระบบ Backward Compatibility

ซึ่งทำให้สามารถเล่นเกมเก่า ๆ บนเครื่อง PS4 ได้ และมีเพียงไม่กี่เกมเท่านั้นที่เล่นไม่ได้ แต่ล่าสุดดูเหมือนว่าเกมของค่าย Ubisoft บางเกมจะไม่สามารถรันบน PS5 ได้

ในบล็อกโพสท์เกี่ยวกับการทำงานแบบ Cross-Play และ Cross-Progression บน Ubisoft Connect ได้มีการเปิดเผยว่าเกม Assassin's Creed บางภาคจะไม่สามารถเล่นบน PS5 ได้ เช่น Assassin's Creed Syndicate, ภาค Chronicles ทั้งหลาย ไม่ว่าจะเป็น Russia, China, India และเกมเก่า ๆ อื่น ๆ
