⚠️ 忽然運動
與朋友一窩蜂去跑馬拉松,或者因為受到奧運熱潮感染,突然報劍擊班或瘋狂游水,平日零運動人士的肌肉強度及韌帶彈性都比較差,忽然運動起來特別容易受傷,記得要循序漸進啊!
⚠️ 過度運動
運動雖好,但要注意身體能承受的程度,如果感到頭暈胸悶、呼吸不順、食慾不振、疲憊不堪、睡眠質素變差、身體持續疼痛、鬱悶易怒,感覺愈運動愈疲勞,就要思考是否過度運動帶來了不適。
⚠️ 忽略保暖
這個情況多在冬天發生,因預計做運動會發熱出汗,故只穿輕薄衣服外出,其實運動前後都要注意保暖,尤其運動出汗後毛孔打開容易感染風寒。
⚠️ 空肚做運動
想趕在上班前做運動,卻沒時間吃早餐,於是空着肚子做運動;血糖太低會導致頭暈及體力不支,時間很趕的話建議喝一杯米水打底。
⚠️ 運動後大吃一頓
辛苦過後想大吃一頓犒賞自己,運動後的確需要補充適當的熱量及營養,建議選項以優質蛋白質及碳水化合物為主,如果放肆大嚼肥甘厚味、煎炸油膩食物,運動就等於白做了。

⚠️ Exercise abruptly
Due to the excitement from the Olympics, some of us might start running marathons, sign up for fencing, or go swimming. Those who seldom exercise might risk damaging their muscles and ligaments if they engage in intensive sports all of a sudden. It is important to take it slow for a start!
⚠️ Exercise excessively
It is good to exercise, but we must know our limits. When we feel dizzy, experience chest tightness, breathing difficulties, appetite loss, fatigue, poor sleep quality, and continuous pain on the body, or become irritable, we should reconsider the way we exercise.
⚠️ Overlook the importance of keeping the body warm
This is a bad habit especially during winter. Some people tend to wear thin clothes, thinking that they will sweat after a workout session. It is important to keep the body warm because we might catch a cold more easily when the pores are expanded when we sweat.
⚠️ Exercise with an empty stomach
Instead of having breakfast, some of us want to spend time exercising before leaving for work. Exercising with an empty stomach might cause us to feel weak and dizzy because our blood sugar levels are low. If need be, drink at least a cup of rice water before working out.
⚠️ Indulge in a sumptuous meal after working out
We have the tendency to reward ourselves with good food after a round of strenuous exercise. We should eat appropriately to replenish the nutrients and calories, but our diets should be carbohydrate- and protein-based. Savoring deep fried and greasy foods would only defeat the purpose of working out.

我先告訴你們,我根本沒達到100%的自律喔!我是盡力而為,因為對我來說,有盡力已經夠好了❤️
5個技巧:
1 - 補充水份💧
多喝水喝茶!補水助於保持身體頭腦清醒! (新鮮的薑茶是我改善消化,免疫系統和情緒的第一選擇!)
2 - 早晨鍛煉 💦
相信我,早上起床後直接動一動流流汗一個小時後,再進行其他任務,整天的效率會大提升!它會啟動內啡肽,使你有足夠的信心挑戰與贏得剩下的獨處時間。
*我自己最後三天實際上沒有做到這一點,都等到下午才運動。結果我就超後悔,因為那幾天我就開始過度思考,動力與生產力下降不少🙁
3 - 待辦事項清單 📋
給自己編寫一個時刻表或清單,這是防止拖延的最好,且常被低估的工具!
4 - 與正面朋友視訊通話👅
約好並打電話給一個讓你發笑的人,這其實就像跟他約喝咖啡一樣。我很愛並很需要我的朋友們,每次聊完,精神處在一個很快樂的地方!
5 - 吃健康食品🍏
這一點只是提醒你健康與新鮮食品的重要性:它們讓身心保持精力充沛,使心情好,因此做事有效!

After finishing my quarantine, I have been asked to share some specific tips on how to stay active and motivated during isolation.
Let me tell you first though - I wasn't 100% disciplined... I just tried my best, and that was good enough ;)
Tips:
1 - Hydrate!!! 💧
Drink tons of water & tea! Keeps you awake & clear headed. (Ginger tea is my number one go-to drink for digestion, immune-system & mood.)
2 - Workout FIRST in the morning💦
Trust me, get your SWEAT on first thing after waking up, for at least an hour, before doing anything else! It'll jump start endorphins & make you confident enough to win the rest of the isolated time.
*I actually fell of the wagon during the last 3 days, waiting until the afternoon to move... and damn did I regret that, because I was a lot LESS motivated & productive during those days!🙁
3 - Checklists 📋
Write yourself either a schedule or a checklist (with numbers). This is the best yet most underrated tool against procrastination.
4 - Video call someone positive👅
Calling someone that makes you laugh, feels nearly as if you met them for coffee. I love & need my friends, calling them regularly transported me mentally to a happy place outside my four walls.
5 - Eat healthy food🍏
This is obvious, but just reminding you about the importance of healthy, fresh foods: They keep you physically & mentally energized, which will make you feel better & be productive.

Documenting my first GA surgical procedure - DONE!! I was so nervous prior to the op.. I always eat or drink something once every 2 to 3 hours because of low blood sugar and functional dyspepsia, so the thought of having to fast 6 hours from 10am to 4pm made me really nervous. Not to mention my fear of nausea and vomiting after op (because some people can have it so bad after GA) that caused so much anxiety pre-op.

So... For those who don't know, I'd undergone a surgical procedure to remove a (not too small) breast lump and super thankful to the surgeons Dr Tan Yah Yuen and anaesthetist Dr Tan Su Meng for making the whole procedure so pain-free. To be honest it almost felt silly now looking back at how scared I was. But strangely, I was feeling excited before the op! While in the OT holding area, every pre-op patient was lying down on their stretcher bed, I was the only one stretching here twisting there, sitting up and looking all around because first time mah! 😁😎I was even in the OT asking questions and this and that and telling everyone about ODP before I knocked out completely. Woke up shortly after op in a hysterical high mood and was saying HI to everyone who walked past the OT holding room.... 😂 People must be wondering who is this weirdo. 🤣 Nurses at Mount E are always so friendly and kind and they were chatting with me non stop to distract me from whatever anxiety I had. Super thankful to each and every of them though I'm sorry I may have forgotten your name after checkout. (Raquel, YM, Amm 😘...)

Discharged and home resting now. Told not to move too much in the next 1 to 2 weeks and probably able to workout one month from now. CAN'T WAIT!!
And hopefully biopsy results are clear... Will update again tomorrow...

I grew up eating Indian food often and I love the rich flavours that go into the dishes. Sadly, with a lot of takeaways, Indian food often get a bad rep for being high in calories and extremely unhealthy.
This is not entirely true. When you cook at home, you can control what goes in the dish and you can make them extremely healthy! I’m going to share with you an Indian Meal Prep which is easy-to-follow, delicious and nutritious!

CHICKEN & FISH TANDOORI
Ingredients (serves 4):
1) 400g Chicken Breast
2) 400g Tilapia Fish
3) 1.5 tbsps. Olive Oil
4) 1/2 cup Plain Yoghurt
5) 4 Garlic Gloves, roughly chopped
6) 2 tbsps. Fresh Ginger, roughly chopped
7) 2 tbsps. Lemon Juice
8) 1 tsp. Ground Coriander
9) 1 tsp. Ground Cumin
10) 1 tsp. Ground Turmeric
11) ½ tsp. White Pepper
12) 1 tbsp. Paprika
13) 1 tsp. Salt
Steps:
1) Cube the chicken breast into chunks and slice the fish.
2) In a blender add the garlic and ginger along with a splash of water and blend to make a thick smooth paste.
3) In a separate bowl add the blended garlic and ginger paste along with the rest of the marinade ingredients - oil, yoghurt, lemon juice and all the spices. Mix well.
4) Marinade the the chicken cubes and fish slices. Leave for 15 - 20 minutes for the meat to soak the flavours.
5) Pre-heat the oven to 220 Celsius / 420 Fahrenheit
6) After 15 minutes, skewer the chicken the wooden skewers and place it on a baking tray.
7) If you don’t the the wooden skewers, you can just place the chicken and fish fillets onto the baking tray.
8) Bake it the oven for 15 - 20 minutes or until just done.
7) Serve the tandoori chicken and fish with cucumber salad.
Total - 1383.5Cals, 61g Fat, 24.3g Carbs, 213.2g Protein
Per serving – 346Cals, 15.25g Fat, 6g Carbs, 53.3g Protein
FRESH CUCUMBER SALAD
Ingredients (serves 4)
1) ½ cup Onion, chopped
2) 1 cup Tomato, chopped
3) 1 cup Cucumber, chopped
4) 1/4 cup Fresh Coriander, chopped
5) 1 tsp. Red Chili powder
6) 2 tbsps. Lemon juice
7) Salt to taste
Steps:
1) Add all the ingredients in a bowl. Mix well.
2) Allow it to chill in the fridge until it’s ready to be served.
Total – 134Cals, 2.44g Fat, 27.6g Carbs, 6g Protein
Per serving – 33.5Cals, 0.61g Fat, 6.9g Carbs, 1.5g Protein
LIGHT VEGETABLE CURRY W/ BASMATI RICE
Ingredients (serves 4):
1) 300g carrot, cut into cubes
2) 200g Spinach, fresh or frozen
3) 1 can (240g) Chickpeas, rinsed and drained
4) 1 can (400g) Diced Tomato
5) ½ cup Light Coconut Milk
6) 1 tbsp. Olive Oil
7) 1 medium Onion, diced
8) 6 Garlic Cloves, minced
9) Thumb-size piece Ginger, minced
10) 1 tbsp. Cumin
11) 1 tbsp. Curry Powder
12) 1 tsp. Paprika
13) Salt & Pepper to Taste
Steps:
1) Sauté the onion and garlic with olive oil, until tender and golden brown, just for about 2 - 3 minutes.
2) Add ginger, cumin, curry powder, paprika, salt and pepper. Stir to combine before adding in the diced tomatoes, chickpeas and spinach.
3) The stir in the coconut milk and bring to a simmer. Reduce heat to low and cook everything together for 10 - 15 minutes before serving.
4) Stir occasionally and serve hot
Total – 1140Cals, 39g Fat, 170g Carbs, 47g Protein
Per serving - 285Cals, 9.75g Fat, 42.5g Carbs, 12g Protein
Per serving with 1 cup Basmati Rice - 476Cals, 10.35g Fat, 82.5g Carbs, 17.6g Protein
