CheckCheckCin:陽光普照被視為好天氣,但熱邪過盛也會消耗氣和陰液,所以炎熱天氣下我們特別容易出暗瘡、頭瘡、喉嚨痛、發燒等上火症狀。如果所住地區溫暖又乾燥,身體需要一點點偏涼的湯水,宜選擇屬性偏涼的蔬菜入饌,例如番茄、西芹、青/白蘿蔔、白菜等,配搭具清熱解毒、消暑祛濕功效的綠豆,有助清熱解毒。
番茄 — 性涼,有生津止渴、健胃消食、涼血平肝功效,適合發熱口乾、食慾不振者食用,它亦有護膚美白的功效。惟注意番茄性涼,胃寒人士不宜食用,寒性痛經女士在月經期間勿吃,胃酸過多者不宜空腹食用。
番茄薯仔綠豆湯
功效:清熱健脾,紓緩炎熱天氣帶來的口乾、喉嚨痛、悶熱等症狀。
材料:番茄3個、薯仔2個、椰菜半個、西芹2細條、綠豆20克
做法:
1. 所有材料洗淨,番茄切件;薯仔去皮切塊;椰菜及西芹切塊備用。
2. 鍋中加入2000毫升水,放入全部材料,武火煮至水滾,調文火煮1.5小時,最後下鹽調味即可。

CheckCheckCin: People often regard the sunny sky as good weather, but it could be a problem when heat accumulates and becomes a pathogenic factor. According to Chinese Medicine theories, the pathogenic factor can invade the body and exhaust the yin, and this is why we experience dry mouth and sore throat easily.
When the body cannot dissipate heat on time, yin-yang balance is disrupted, causing us to develop a heatstroke. Therefore, individuals who live in dry and warm areas should consume soups and vegetables that are cool in nature such as tomato, celery, green/white radish, Chinese cabbage, not forgetting mung beans, which can relieve the summer-heat and clear toxins from the body.
Tomato - cool in nature, has the effects of promoting fluid promotion, quenching thirst, strengthening the stomach, aiding digestion, cooling blood and calming the liver. Suitable for fever, dry mouth, those with poor appetite. It can nourish and whiten skin. But it is cool in nature making it not suitable for those with cold stomachs. Women with cold type menstrual pain should not eat tomatoes during menstruation. Those with gastric hyperacidity should not consume it with an empty stomach.
Tomato and potato soup with mung bean
Effects: Clears heat and strengthens the spleen, relieves dry mouth, sore throat, stuffiness and other symptoms caused by hot weather.
Ingredients: 3 tomatoes, 2 potatoes, 1/2 cabbage, 2 stalks of celery, 20g mung bean
Preparation:
1. Rinse all ingredients thoroughly. Cut the tomato into pieces. Peel the potato and cut into pieces. Cut the cabbage and celery into pieces.
2. Combine all ingredients with 2000ml of water in a pot and cook on high heat until boiling. Turn to low heat and simmer for 1.5 hours. Add salt to taste.

.一次過將所有食材下鍋
明明只有三、四個人打邊爐,有人偏偏喜歡將整碟食材倒入鍋中「一鑊熟」,「一餅」肥牛下鍋表面熟中間生,吃到最後又會煮得過熟被嫌棄,有些食材又會煮到糊掉,完全失去「烚下烚下」的樂趣。
.洗筷子
「烚下烚下」時用公筷,食用時用另一雙私筷是衛生的做法,亦可避免用同一雙筷子處理生熟食物交叉感染,遇著一個懶換筷子、甚至喜歡啜筷子的朋友,真是叫人倒胃口。
.鴛鴦鍋不再鴛鴦
鴛鴦鍋的存在,方便同枱中有吃辣和不吃辣的朋友,清湯鍋留來灼菜亦可吃得健康,有人卻嫌麻辣鍋太辣,從麻辣鍋中挾起食物然後放入清湯鍋中「過水」,你有想過其他人的感受嗎?
.水終於滾了有人加生料
人多打邊爐,或者遇著一個火力弱的爐,下生料後等水滾需時,終於等到煮滾可以吃了,鍋蓋一開有人卻立即加一堆生料,全枱人又要呆等一輪。
.咬一口發現未熟丟回鍋中
人多打邊爐,食物生熟情況不易掌握,有人挾起食物咬一口後發現未熟,立即丟回鍋中繼續煮,除非是家人能包容你「食你口水尾」,否則以後應該無人再約你打邊爐。
.將自己碗內的湯倒入鍋中
這個行為匪夷所思,但好似又確實存在過,就是有人將自己碗內吃剩的湯汁倒入鍋中!驚嚇度達十級!你身邊有這種朋友嗎?

People say we can always tell a person’s character during a game of mahjong. This also applies to hotpot sessions. Putting our favorite ingredients into the hotpot to cook does not seem complicated, but it can show how disciplined people are, as well as their manners.
It would be an undesirable experience if we come across someone who does not observe all these social etiquettes……
. Dumping all the ingredients into the hotpot in one go
Even when there are only three or four persons sharing one hotpot, certain people just love to dump all the ingredients into the hotpot and have them all cooked in one shot. While some ingredients like beef will remain not fully cooked on the inside, some are overcooked and turned mushy. Such action also takes away the joy of rinsing the ingredients little by little.
. ‘Washing’ the chopsticks in the hotpot
It is always hygienic to use a pair of sharing chopsticks for cooking the ingredients in the hotpot, and eat using our own pair of chopsticks. This can avoid any form of contamination during the process. It would be unappetizing to see someone who does not switch chopsticks - or even worse, someone who likes to bite his or her chopsticks constantly.
.Two-flavored hotpot no longer ‘two-flavored’
The two-flavored hotpot, or as the Chinese called ‘yuanyang’, caters to the needs of two group of friends – those who can and those who cannot eat spicy food, and the clear soup should also be used to blanch vegetables for healthy eating. However, when some people feel the mala soup is too spicy, they would insist on ‘rinsing it’ in the clear soup first before eating. What would the others think of this behavior?
. Someone adding raw ingredients into the hotpot when the soup is boiling
When many people share one hotpot, or when the stove is not giving enough heat, the soup will take a longer time to boil. Just when we are about to take out the cooked ingredients and eat, someone just randomly adds more raw ingredients into the soup, causing the waiting game to repeat all over again.
. Dumping uncooked ingredients back into the hotpot
It is difficult to determine whether the ingredients are fully and partially cooked, especially when it involves many people. Imagine someone taking a bite of the food, realizing it is still not fully cooked, and dumping it right back to the hotpot! Our family members might tolerate this behavior but your friends would probably think twice before inviting you to another hotpot session.
. Pouring the remaining soup in the bowl into the hotpot
This might seem unbelievable but yes, some people would actually clear the soup in their bowl out by pouring it back into the hotpot! Shock level: 10/10. Do you have such friends?

如何令指甲健健康康?中醫理論認為肝主筋,「其華在爪」,指甲的健康與肝有密切關係,而肝的主要生理功能是「主疏泄、藏血」,指甲依賴肝臟精血的濡養,因此肝血狀態直接影響指甲健康,精血充足的話指甲堅韌、紅潤帶光澤,精血不足指甲則軟而薄,枯燥沒有光澤,容易脆裂。平日可適量進食養肝及補血食物,綠色蔬菜如菠菜、紅豆、黑豆、紅棗、黑芝麻等;洗手後塗抹潤膚霜滋潤一下,記得同時按摩指甲邊位。

材料:南棗4枚、百合12克、麥冬9克、夕米水粉1包
做法:藥材洗淨,鍋內注入900毫升水,加入全部材料,以武火煮滾後轉文火煮20分鐘,再倒入保溫瓶,可反復沖泡3﹣4次飲用。�
功效:活血養陰。舒緩指甲容易折斷、容易神不守舍等症狀。�

The function of nails is to protect the fingertips and toes. As the Chinese saying ‘pain in ten fingers will lead to the heart’ goes, fingernails do affect our lives. Come to think of it, nails are not without problems of their own. Have you experienced any of these below?
No. 3 Brittle fingernails
Our nails are soft, thin and can break easily. Broken nails can even easily hook onto our shirts and damage them! Sometimes when we accidentally kick the edge of a table, our nails would split and cause a great of deal pain, to the extent that we become incapable of walking properly.
No. 2 Detailed nails
The white part of the fingernails slowly extends towards the base of your finger; fingernails are no longer closely attached to the nail beds. Though this condition does not cause pain or itch, we can definitely feel the discomfort.
No. 1 Hangnails
Hangnails are extremely irritating! If we cannot resist ourselves and start peeling off the skin, the wound might swell and bleed, and even cause paronychia. Hangnails often occur during autumn and winter, due to the dry weather.
How do we keep our fingernails healthy? Chinese Medicine opined that liver governs the tendons, therefore fingernails have a close relationship with the liver. The liver functions to nourish blood and nail health is closely related to that. If the blood is properly nourished, our fingernails will remain strong and have naturally shiny flesh-tone nail plates. Fingernails that do not received well-nourished blood will become soft, brittle, dull, and can crack easily.
Consume an appropriate amount of food that can nourish the liver and replenish the blood, for instance, green vegetables such as spinach, red bean, black bean, red date and black sesame; apply moisturizer on hands after washing, and massage the fingertips.
Rice water to nourish nails
Effects: Promotes blood circulation and nourishes yin. Strengthens weak nails that breaks easily and suitable for absent-mindedness.
Ingredients: 4 jujube dates, 12g lily bulb, 9g radix ophiopogonis, 1 sachet of Dawn Rice Water
Preparation: Rinse the herbal ingredients. Combine all ingredients with 900ml of water in a pot and cook on high heat until boiling. Turn to low heat and simmer for 20 minutes. Pour into thermos, and re-brew for 3-4 times.

You must ditch your instant noodles for this super easy Soy Sauce Chicken Noodles. This recipe is suitable for those of you who are working from home. It's so easy that I believe everyone can make this at home. Some of you ask how did we calculate 15 mins of cooking time as mentioned in our video title. First of all, we need to get our cooking time definition right. Cooking time to is means the time when heat is turned on and applied to the ingredients. All other time is not counted. In this video, Roland cooked the chicken for 8 mins then he turned off the heat. Then he brought the sauce to boil to thicken the sauce. At most this will only take 2 mins. Then he brought a pot of water to boil to blanch vegetables and noodles. Vegetables literally take seconds to cook and noodles take about 2 mins max to cook because we used fresh noodles. Assuming we assign about 1.5 mins to let the water boil then that brings us nicely to about 15 mins of cooking time altogether.
