今天是楊德昌導演逝世十四週年，對於他，已無須談論太多，最好的方式就是直接去看那些電影，去看他鏡頭下的臺灣，以及臺灣的種種具象的、抽象的、冰冷的、紛亂的人事物，推一本書《再見楊德昌》，然後，推他所有的作品 ——「我們何其幸運地生長在這個不幸的時代。（We are luckily unlucky.）」

以下非建議順序，單純列出幾部，先來看《#青梅竹馬》。

吳念真說：「其實楊德昌有一核心主題：時代變革中，人在其中的生存到底適不適合？孝賢扮演的角色是在迪化街賣布的，正尋求一種轉變，思索要不要到國外做生意，但受限於個人認知或本身的性格，註定會受到挫折。有一場在 Pub 的戲，那些知識份子在講些無聊的笑話，對方聽到他是賣布的，不屑的態度溢於言表。阿欽也是被時代所犧牲，他年輕時候是打少棒的，後來少棒沒了，他也就完了。

有一天，我去天水路找朋友，看到一個傢伙在賣甘蔗汁，他竟把攤子整個推到路上來賣，警察前來驅逐，他不肯挪動，警察無計可施便走了。那個攤子上掛了三張照片，都是他跟蔣經國握手的畫面。出於編劇本能，我就去跟他聊天。他說，他從中學時代就被抓去練拳擊，成為國手，有一年，準備赴加拿大參加奧運，但那年加拿大已經和中國建交了，竟拒絕台灣代表團入境。台灣大隊人馬在日本等簽證，等到最後仍然沒能參加。回來後，他就去當兵了，退伍之後，什麼都不會。他說：『我要生活啊！我為了國家這樣練拳擊，練到最後也沒有機會！』那張照片就是他參賽前受蔣經國召見所拍下的。他覺得國家沒有照顧他，他這一輩子都毀了。

我把這個故事講給楊德昌聽，他覺得很有意思，後來還很高興打電話給我，說：『我們應該把這個弄出來，我已經想到題目了！』他常這樣，劇本還沒想之前，想題目、想海報、想工作人員要穿的 T 恤想得很高興，像小孩子一樣。他講了一個題目我覺得很棒 ───《業餘生命》。亦即三十歲之後的生命全是業餘的，因為生命在此之前已經過完了。以演藝界的人為例，可能三十歲之前所有掌聲就已經得光了。《青梅竹馬》裡，阿欽那個開計程車的角色基本上就是業餘生命，是一個挫敗的人。

接著看《#牯嶺街少年殺人事件》。
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
楊德昌導演刻劃著純真的失落、道德的崩毀與理想主義者的殞逝，那時候的人們極其壓抑絕望、迷惘挫敗，無力改變現狀的父母將一切希望放在孩子們身上，用功讀書成為唯一一條出路，不安瀰漫的社會氛圍似乎一觸即發，族群對立，械鬥滋事，然而始終沒有人死的像個英雄，只能活著見證自己變成一個惡人，變成一個被大時代殺死的恐怖份子。

因此在一則撼動社會的情殺案件背後，不只關注著 1960 年代的日常生活，同時掀開存在於社會新聞裡的人之價值，透過鏡頭探問著究竟是什麼樣的環境、是什麼樣的因素，導致一個毫無前科的高中生成為滿身血污的殺人兇手？帶有史詩氣勢的《牯嶺街少年殺人事件》，英文喚作「A Brighter Summer Day」，重點就在「Brighter」，有比明亮更明亮之處，周遭就有比黑暗更黑暗之處，手電筒光線所及成為光明與希望，也因太過刺眼只能看見一半的真相，其他陰影滿布的地方則彷彿更加混沌不清，潛伏一旁的暴力蠢蠢欲動，價值觀不停偏斜擺盪，無論大人或是孩子都難以在顛沛流離中想像未來的自己的樣貌。

小四澄澈而直接的雙眼於卡奇色制服堆裡顯得格外與眾不同，比起同齡的朋友他略顯沉默壓抑，臉上讀不出任何情緒，沒辦法真正融入不良少年的幫派核心，也沒辦法過著完全遠離紛擾的學生生活，不上不下的成績只能考上建中夜校，就如生於公務員外省家庭的狀況。張家的父母無可挑剔，媽媽勤儉持家，爸爸有自己不容動搖的原則，不但適時傾聽孩子的想法，為孩子據理力爭，也身體力行教導下一代做人必須光明磊落問心無愧，自己的未來要憑著自己的雙手決定。

直到警備總部的人登門將父親帶走的那一天，直到白色恐怖真正在張家掀起驚濤駭浪的那一天，一顆又一顆的大型冰塊靜置走廊，一疊又一疊的空白稿紙擺在眼前，以失去時間感的精神壓力呈現人們漸漸產生斷裂的過程，原來國家比任何人都更清楚我們的人生，原來個體的命運從來不掌握在自己手中，原來過去深信不疑的公理正義都是滿紙荒唐言，比起貧窮，絕望才會真正讓人變得滄桑、憔悴、黯淡與不堪，只見他茫然盯著桌上的食物，卑微請求老師網開一面，再也抬不起頭面對如此踐踏人性的國家與社會。

舉凡善良、公平、正義等擲地有聲的名詞，並非有錢人的餘裕或底層者的嘲諷，也不是崇高空泛的道德標準，那些拚命守護的，就是為了下一代的目光與希望，往往等到事情發生了，才會知道父母對孩子造成的影響有多麼深遠。Honey 不惜代價對抗、維繫小四最後一線理智的，都是小明，是純真與救贖的象徵，然而一句當頭棒喝「我和這個世界都是一樣不可改變的」，意志的斷裂巨大到再也無法挽回，不可以被人瞧不起，不可以被世界的醜陋吞噬，那一把短刀殺死了愛，殺死了過去的小四，也殺死了一切理想中的美好期許，時代將青春、信念摔得粉身碎骨，只留下了選擇在風中搖擺的草，殘破地隨波逐流。

而後看《#恐怖份子》。

不安、疏離、壓抑、暴力、無解，交疊在楊德昌質樸且暖色調的台北日常恐怖之中，鏡頭下這群人困在無限循環、一成不變的日子裡，他們以為人生應該要有另外一種模樣，不缺物質的執意追求虛幻的精神生活，手頭不寬裕的以為擁有金錢便能迎來新的起點，是每位理想主義者不偏不倚走向憤世嫉俗，也就是恐怖份子的過渡期。

「在他鏡頭下的台北是一個很雜亂的、拼湊的城市，沒有統一的建築與美學。楊德昌有句名言：『我們何其幸運地生長在這個不幸的時代。』身為戰後這一代，我們經歷過台灣非常破落而貧窮的階段，早期又面臨戒嚴，必須反抗威權、反抗貧窮、反抗這個破敗的城市，由此給我們帶來力量。」

吳念真認為，臺灣最好的電影有兩部，一是楊德昌《恐怖份子》，二是侯孝賢《童年往事》。

在看似平靜的舊時台北，參差不齊的老舊公寓比鄰錯落，以槍聲劃破天際，也以槍聲劃下句點，三條故事線有條不紊地穿插、糾纏，慢慢收攏成一個故事，巧妙透過後設手法導向亦真亦假的結局。李立中和周郁芬一對中產階級夫妻，有潔癖的先生雖然收入足以餬口，但自私自利的他職場始終不順遂；婚後求子不得，足不出戶的妻子專注於撰寫小說，卻因生活百無聊賴而坐困愁城，無法突破寫作瓶頸，一日，一通匿名來電，讓她下定決心為自己的生活做出改變。來電的就是位混血少女，也是楊德昌開始構思《恐怖份子》的契機，如實反應台灣當年美軍駐紮的時代背景，母親活在逝去的西洋老歌之中，年紀輕輕的淑安則與不良少年為伍，為了金錢成為行竊慣犯，長期遊走在法律邊緣。因一條故事線再衍生另一條故事線，又因另一條故事線而發展出另一個完整的世界，家庭寬裕的少年攝影師小強愛上內心虛構的神秘少女形象，拼拼湊湊出看似合理的故事，每個人看見了部分的真相，每個人也同時被蒙在鼓裡。

「什麼是虛構？什麼是真實？風一吹，照片中的人就變得零碎，彷彿她是拼湊而來的。整個城市也是一樣，這是一個拼湊的世界，每個人看到的都只是一部分，並非真實的全貌。」

女孩凝視著自己的照片，照片裡的眼神斜斜盯著男孩的位置，男孩從那處望向了女孩，三個畫面在短短幾秒的剎那建構出抽象而立體的空間，似乎時而行走於夢境，恍惚置身於現實，台北就宛若一個庸俗沉悶、乏善可陳的夢，彼時是，現在仍是，人人嚮往自由，人人求而不得，無論你腳踏實地過日子，或是企圖與眼前困境對峙，都無可避免一步一步靠近背後的深淵。

「片中，大台北瓦斯球代表的是一個快要爆炸的東西，暗示著危險，楊德昌鏡頭下的城市好像都走在邊緣上，隨時會發生狀況，跟他的個性很像，因為他事一個很敏感、細膩的人，看什麼事情都覺得不太對勁。就像《一一》裡頭，洋洋喜愛拍人家背部，這其實貫穿了他所有創作，楊德昌在看人的時候，總看到別人沒看到的面向。」

最後，我們看的是《#一一》，最喜歡的一部。

以婚禮開始，以葬禮作結，這些都是平凡無奇隨處可見的生活，也會發生在我們成長過程中的事，卻以溫柔的電影語言交織成文化背景之下的共同回憶與課題，在多年後依舊發人深省。簡家的主要收入來源是撐起台灣經濟奇蹟的代表性族群之一，也就是中產階級與中小企業，無須終日為錢勞心傷神，但人生不會因此而少些煩惱。爸爸 NJ 和幾名同儕合夥開創一間電腦公司，妻子敏敏是標準的家庭事業兩頭燒的職業婦女，兩夫妻膝下育有正在就讀北一女的女兒婷婷，和八歲的兒子洋洋，這一家人面對小舅阿弟的婚禮的同時也面臨長輩的腦溢血昏迷，NJ 甚至在圓山飯店巧遇了初戀情人阿瑞。

這個壓抑的中年男子，幾乎可以說是吳念真的化身，NJ 的父親形象，也可於李安「父親三部曲」中清楚察覺，傳統定義中一家之主的特質，如此衝突而缺乏溝通的家庭樣貌，從不同時代、不同年齡層都能窺見父親威權角色與早期家庭結構的瓦解。努力撐起一個家的背後，也有我們未曾發覺的浪漫餘暉，是不是人總有一天都需要在現實生活與理想愛情之間擇一呢？

在 NJ 與阿瑞的日本、婷婷與胖子的台北交織成了愛情詩篇，此端是自己久別重逢的年輕歲月，彼端則是女兒摸索愛情的未知期待，彷彿換了一個時空，婷婷也經歷了爸爸曾經走過的路，只是可能在愛與不愛之間就這麼毫不留情地一分為二。生活在台北，任誰都曾去西門町看電影，任誰都曾踏過無數次的武昌街，任誰都曾獨自佇立在車燈閃爍的路邊拼湊破碎的心，任誰都曾在吵雜壅擠的世界裡備感孤獨。

《一一》是時代的縮影，從街道、天橋、紅綠燈平凡的日常畫面裡我們看到光陰流逝的證據，也感受著台北獨特的城市韻味。《一一》更是社會的縮影，每個角色在我們生活中都不陌生，有先上車後補票，也有發乎情止乎禮，有看似美滿的家庭，也有複雜紊亂的鄰居，有為求利益不擇手段的嘴臉，也有盼以真誠待人的無奈。

「誠意可以裝，老實可以裝，交朋友可以裝，做生意可以裝，那這個世界上還有什麼是真的？」短視近利、投機取巧，許多企業奉行利益擺第一的宗旨，公司需要賺錢是天經地義，卻非以長久經營的角度思考，於現在的食安危機、黑心食品、詐騙猖獗、缺乏國際競爭力等層出不窮的問題上浮現，畢竟有所得的同時都必須付出代價，這些代價都將落在下一輩的肩頭上。NJ 憤而掛上電話，拒絕接觸公司決策，也許惱怒的不只其他人的反反覆覆，而是此類罔顧未來和台灣商譽行為，如此成就經濟起飛錢淹腳目的共業，之後則必須由洋洋這個世代的年輕人慢慢償還。

耐人尋味的名稱「一一 A One And A Two」，無論指的是兩個人、人與人，還是存在於每個角落的二元對立，也就是洋洋始終想捕捉的「後腦勺／看不見的後面」，都給人異常豐富的留白與思考空間，好與壞、對與錯、愛與不愛、真誠與偽裝、年輕與遺憾、喜宴與喪禮、送往與迎來，從楊德昌的鏡頭之下感受到的，是每個人看似互動密切又形影疏離的灰色地帶，更隱約透露出了一種反璞歸真的成熟心境。

楊德昌（Edward Yang，1947年11月6日－2007年6月29日），生於上海，成長於台北。1974年在佛羅里達大學獲電機工程碩士，之後於南加州大學學習研究電影一年。與侯孝賢同為台灣新電影代表導演。
