As I’ve mentioned before, one of the 9 subjects I’m taking for GCSE this year is Drama. This, of course, calls for a lot of scriptwriting, performance work, designing and whatnot, but there’s only one thing left that we can do that’s both helpful and really enjoyable...watching live theatre!
Live theatre is not only an essential part of the Drama GCSE course, but it’s also one of the students’ favourite parts of the course, aside from our actual performances, of course. This time around, we went after school on Wednesday evening to watch the 25th anniversary performance of #EastisEast at The Birmingham Rep Theatre. Originally based on the film from 1996, and adapted into the 1999 film, the story follows the daily life of a Pakistani family in England in the 70s, trying to live both a traditional Pakistani lifestyle and fit into 1970s England as well. The play was directed by Iqbal Khan, an Old Edwardian - yep, he is one of the alumni of King Edward’s School as well! He is also the Associate Director for the Birmingham Repertory Theatre - amazing 👀
I must say, the entirety of the show was amazing, from start to finish - it’s no wonder why the story won the awards it has! The writing, the set design, the costume, the cast, all of it was absolutely brilliant, and made for a great night out and a highly enjoyable start to this part of the GCSE Drama course. I can’t express just how much I enjoyed the show - well done to the team!
Hungry for more,

In the ongoing fight against COVID-19, teachers have adapted their ways of teaching to engage students both online and offline. Many teachers are parents themselves, and also have to cope with caring for children and family members during the pandemic. Yet they have stayed focused on the welfare of their students, and given them encouragement and guidance.
We owe teachers immense thanks for staying resilient and providing steadfast support to their students during this unsettling time, in the classroom and beyond. You can read stories from students and parents on how teachers have nurtured the hearts and minds of our youth today, or pen your own message of thanks at https://ThankYouCher.edu.sg.
I hope that teachers, students and parents will use these September school holidays to recharge for the next term. Happy Teachers’ Day to all our wonderful teachers! – LHL

The lyrics are inspired by “The Vimalakirti Sutra” and the Hakka nursery rhyme “Black Drongo”.
A black drongo is a highly territorial bird often seen resting on the back of a cow in the countryside. “Vima” in Sanskrit language means clean and pure, which is why the song is named “White Drongo”.
The Hakka nursery rhyme “Black Drongo” is used in an important part of the film “The Child of Light”. Hummed by different characters without the accompaniment, it expresses how our lives and feelings are interrelated. With the rotatory and straight forward lyrics, we know how it feels when you’ve lost your parents and try to find something but in vain, which is what the protagonist of the film has been through and in accordance with the core of “The Vimalakirti Sutra”.
A cluster of foam, a bubble, a flame, an illusion, a dream, a shadow, a cloud and lightning in the lyrics show us how transitory life is while the nursery rhyme “Black Drongo” itself describes an ordinary daily routine. The former is unreal while the later is real. When the spirituality meets the reality, endless questions arise ubiquitously.
“White Drongo” is the ending song of the film “The Child of Light”. The initial conception about ending song is to deliver the feelings of going forward and fading away eventually. We expect that the ending shows the sense to nature and the impermanence of sutra expending to the unlimited ambit, and also provides people the power of inspiration and mind-curing.

Bishōjo Senshi Sailor Moon R is a side-scrolling beat 'em up video game developed by Angel and published by Bandai in Japan on December 29, 1993. It is the third game to be created by Angel based upon Naoko Takeuchi's Sailor Moon shōjo manga and anime series, as well as the second title in the franchine for Super Famicom, serving as the sequel to Sailor Moon. Following the second season of the anime series, which adapted the second arc of the manga, the players control one of the six Sailor Guardians and fight against enemies across several locations in order to protect Earth from both the Hell Tree aliens led by Ail and Ann as well as the Black Moon Clan led by Prince Demand, who are attempting to steal life energy from humans and the Star Points of future Crystal Tokyo. Like its predecessor, the game was met with mixed reception from critics since its release.

: 我原本是使用according to
: " the compositions are according to the certification reports"
如你直接使用、引用資料,未加處理,那麽 are according to 改寫成 are adapted from
https://tinyurl.com/4227myp
"The numbers are according to an annual report by..."
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tahltan_people
"The numbers below are according to..."
比較常見的是 be + V-ed + according to,如:
The numbers are calculated/provided/listed/shown according to ...
The numbers/figures/percentages/etc. for/of the composition(s) are according to
The composition numbers/figures/percentages/etc. are according to
The ... is/are (taken/copied/quoted/cited) from the reports
