☆ネイティブの生の会話からリアルな英語を学ぶ☆

1) End up（結局〜になる）
=================================
end upは「最終的に〜になる」や「結局〜になる」を意味する口語的な表現で、物事が最終的にどうなったかを伝える時に使われます。この表現は結果を伝える時に使われるため、I ended upのように一般的に過去形で使われ、ended upの後には「動詞+ing」が続きます。
＜例文＞
I ended up moving to LA after graduating from college.
（大学を卒業後、私は結局ロスに引っ越しました。）
What did you end up doing yesterday?
（昨日は結局何をしたの？）
We ended up going to karaoke and stayed out all night.
（結局カラオケに行って、一晩中遊んでいました。）

2) In addition to（〜に加えて）
=================================
additionは「追加」や「付け足す」を意味することから、in addition toは「〜に加えて」や「〜の他に」を表します。例えば、「彼女は英語の他に韓国語も勉強しています」は「In addition to English, she also studies Korean.」と言います。in addition toは若干フォーマルな響きがありますが、日常会話で使っても全く違和感はありません。
＜例文＞
In addition to accounting, I also majored in psychology.
（会計学に加えて、私は心理学も専攻しました。）
She can play the piano in addition to the guitar.
（彼女はギターの他にピアノも弾けます。）
In addition to my salary, I also get commission every month.
（給料に加えて、私は毎月コミッションももらえます。）

3) Stick to（〜から離れない）
=================================
stickは本来「くっつく」を意味することから、日常会話では「〜から離れない」を意味します。今日の会話でビッキーは「I wasn’t stuck to my majors.」と言いましたが、ここでは専攻していた学問だけに専念していたのではなく、他の学問も色々勉強したことを意味します。stick toは様々なシーンで使うことができる表現で、例えば「スケジュールを守る」はstick to the schedule、「ルールを守る」はstick to the rules、「信念を貫く」はstick to one’s beliefと表します。
＜例文＞
Let’s stick to the plan and make adjustments along the way.
（スケジュール通りに進めて、やりながら調整していきましょう。）
If you want to lose weight, you have to stick to your meal plan.
（減量したいなら、食事プランを守らなければなりません。）
No matter what others say, she sticks to her beliefs.
（周りが何と言おうと、彼女は自分の信念を貫きます。）

4) Mix and match（様々なものを組み合わせる）
=================================
直訳で「混ぜて合わせる」となるこの表現は、色々な物から選んで自由に組み合わせることを意味します。洋服をコーディネートする時や、セール品の中から好きなものを選んで組み合わせるような状況でよく使われます。
＜例文＞
Feel free to mix and match these colors.
（これらの色を自由に組み合わせてください。）
It’s 5 for $20. You can mix and match any of these items here.
（５個で20ドルです。ここにある商品の中から好きなものを選んで自由に組み合わせることができます。）
At Trader Joe’s, you can mix and match your beers and create your own six pack.
（Trader Joe’sでは好きなビールを組み合わせて、自分だけの6本パックを作ることができます。）

5) Get into（〜に入る）
=================================
get intoは「〜に入る」を意味し、特に高校や大学に入学したり、クラスを取ったりする状況で使われます。この表現は、入学試験や審査に合格して高校や大学に入ったり、人数制限のある人気クラスに入るような状況で使われるため、誰でも入れる学校やクラスに対してget intoを使うと違和感があります。
＜例文＞
I heard Hiro’s son got into Tokyo University.
（ヒロさんの息子さんが東大に入ったそうですよ。）
It’s hard to get into that class. I’m on the waiting list.
（あのクラスに入るのは難しいです。私はキャンセル待ちです。）
She’s working towards getting into med school.
（彼女は医大に入るために頑張っています。）

【 卓靈自瑜 Vol. 1 】
2021年2月14日，年初三，情人節。第十天在酒店隔離。
從一月中到現在，一直為《#狂舞派3》馬不停蹄地宣傳，身體和內心不時叫嚷：「想做瑜伽⋯⋯需要瑜伽⋯⋯」直到最近，前期宣傳終於差不多告一段落，【#卓靈K房】ft. BabyJohn 也終於擁護到它面世。
這夜，就來點 Self Love，新年一自「瑜」。
我喜歡在昏暗的燈光下練習Restorative Yoga。這也是為什麼這條我人生中第一條放上YouTube的瑜伽片畫面這麼noisy：P 真的是一場非常即興，而且私人的紀錄。老實說，連要不要拍我也掙扎許久，因為於我而言，瑜伽的傳遞，需要面對面交流。所以，這次的紀錄，算是一次實驗吧！看我日後能不能慢慢找到一個平衡點。Anyway，希望我這條自習瑜伽的影片，可以為你帶來一些平穩的能量吧！（例如能讓你入睡 ;D ）

Grateful Valentine's Day.
Quarantine day 10.
Have been busy doing promotions for the Hong Kong movie: #TheWayWeKeepDancing since Jan. My body & mind had been murmuring, "I want Yoga...... I need Yoga...... " Until recently the pre-promotions have almost come to an end, I'd also finished producing [Cherry's Karaoke Room] ft. BabyJohn—
So tonight, let's make some Self-Love. New Year Yoga.
I love practicing Restorative Yoga in dimmed space. That's why this very first Yoga Practice video of mine is visually noisy 😛 This is a very spontaneous, even personal documentary. To be honest, I struggled a lot about documenting this because for me, the transmission of Yoga is a kind of energy communication, which works best when face-to-face. So this video would be an experiment for me, see if I can figure out a balanced way to communicate Yoga with you all along the journey. Anyway, hope this video can bring you some steady & calm energy! (The best effect is to fall asleep ;D)

Ever since I met Okinawa culture, I always want to become a part of it.
I studied Okinawa since its Ryukyu-era,I’m trying to add the spirit of Nature-worship…as if I’m enchanted by the culture of Okinawa.
The more I study about the battle of Okinawa and its history, the more my heart hurts. Even I ; a person who has no roots in Okinawa, feel like my heart tear into pieces. I can’t even imagine how Okinawa people stayed sane.
I am against war no matter what.
I want to respect all the natures that exist on this earth, and precious lives of living people.
