This brown haired girl of mine has been learning swimming for around nine months and she went for her first swimming test last night. Yup, achievement unlocked!
The thing is, she surprised us by how confident and good she is at the sport and instead of going through the SwimSafer stages 1-3 like what her sister did, the coach advised her to try for Bronze directly as she can complete all the tasks, including swimming on pool bottom, treading water for 2min and doing forward somersaults.
I watched her every stroke and beamed with pride and joy. Being the secondborn, I think I don't give her credit enough at times and fail to see how she can excel in many areas too. My mind tells me not to compare the kids but the truth is it can get very hard not to let yourself even think about it. Thanks, my dear, for reminding me just how unique and special each one of you is in your own little ways.
I ❤ how you would wave to me halfway through your swim when you heard my cheering, I ❤ seeing the bubbly, lively, happy you, and I ❤ seeing how you are discovering your strengths and passions in life too. Way to go, my girl!
