I am not a bass player but Paul Jackson is one of my favorite bass players. He is the funk!! His groove, space.. so funky!! Years ago, I emailed Paul and I explained how much funk I got from him.. then he emailed me back to invite me to his place in Japan!! I mean he invited me for the first I ever meet him! I got lost finding his place in Japan.. but finally I met him! Oh man, he played so many unreleased music from his old recording. He said those were from Fantasy records(?) I had a great time at his place. Then a few years later, finally I played a gig with him! We did a rehearsal in Kyoto Japan...then we played a gig.. he played totally different from our rehearsal! I can’t not believe he is gone now. He left amazing funk music with us. Beautiful Paul Jackson RIP. ❤️

=================================
1) Nerve-wracking(とても緊張感がある)
=================================
<例文>
Doing a speech in English in front of many people is nerve-wracking.
Waiting for the test results to come back can be really nerve-wracking.
I just got back from my first job interview. It was pretty nerve-wracking.
=================================
2) What was it famous for?(何で有名だったっけ?)
=================================
は “What was the name of that place?”
は「Where was it?」、「いつだったっけ?」は「When was it?」
<例文>
What was the name of the restaurant we went to last week? Oh yeah, Denny’s!
If you want to get on the bullet train you should go to…ah, which station was it? Oh, Shinagawa station!
I went to a really beautiful temple in Kyoto. What was the name of that temple? I think it’s called Kiyomizu-dera.
=================================
3) Pass on(〜を遠慮する)
=================================
✔ちなみに、「I’ll pass.」
<例文>
I’ll pass on dinner tonight. I still have some work I need to finish up.
There are too many people in line. Let’s pass on it this time.
If I were you, I would not pass on that opportunity.
=================================
4) Signature food(代表的な食べ物)
=================================
<例文>
You have to get the four cheese pizza here. It’s their signature dish.
He’s always had those bright red glasses. That’s his signature look.
Of course I remember the “Tornado”. That was Hideo Nomo’s signature move.
=================================
5) Delicacy(珍味)
=================================
<例文>
Have you had “shirasu” before? It’s a Japanese delicacy. Try a bite.
I get that this is a delicacy in this country but I can’t eat it.
This dish is really popular in this prefecture. It’s a well known delicacy.

Beautiful neck! My first encounter was my 1963 Fender Duo Sonic that I bought it at East Village Guitars in Kyoto Japan. I thought it’s great guitar for my son.. the I brought it to my gig one night playing slow blues. Wow! What a tone! This 22.5 inch scale neck with all vintage 1963 tone...I just loved it. After that these guitars (Duo Sonic and Musicmaster became really important part on my playing) I can say that these guitars really developed my bending style too! And my dynamics because these guitars are very sensitive so you need to play a bit softer to make warmer tone. Just a thought on Monday morning. Hope every is doing well. #micromonday #fenderduosonic #fendermusicmaster #fenderoffset #studentguitar #shortscaleguitar #vintageguitar #guitar #daddariostrings #daddario #1146 #1252

Thank you to the government of Kyoto and d:matcha for sponsoring our trip to Wazuka! We learned a ton of things about green tea that we never knew. Most surprisingly to us was finding out how extremely varied the flavor of green tea (100% JUST green tea) can be based on how it's grown and processed. Since our trip we've been constantly drinking umami green tea and we can't imagine our lives without it!! If you have a chance when visiting Japan, I highly recommend visiting d:matcha, not just for the experience of tasting mindblowingly good green tea, but also because their tea and matcha desserts and snacks are delicious! Oh, and the area is of course beautiful, as well!

Yokokuji is a famous temple in Kyoto.
Ajisai (hydrangea) bloom beautifully here during the rainy season.
You can also see the "Hanacyouzu" ceremony, in which flowers are floated in the purification fountain at shrines and temples.
During the rainy season, you may be able to take a photo of the beautiful Ajisai on the water.
