Feeling very humbled today.
In our modern and wealthy world, we have so much. Our daily worries indeed could be about if our skin is breaking out or if our mood is not the greatest. Lately covid 19 has jolted us to feel more on the holding back of our freedom to move around, our expression and finances, perhaps. We may have to finally pay some attention to how we live and the state of our relationships as well as the health of our minds and body.
Growing up middle class, never did I have to experience poverty or a lack of protection, but do we know there is a substantial percentage of our population where children growing up do not know where their next meal would come from, and whether they would die from a random beating because abuse is their every day. Yes I’m talking about Hong Kong, the comfort of a city we want to just see the good of, but not the whole.
In as much as there is technology and wealth, how many families are broken? How many children are scared to go home because of abuse? How many wives condone violence at home? How many men bear huge stress of being a bread winner?
How are we able to really be moody if our number of followers have dropped or if we have to work from home, or drop in depression when our parents/government don’t understand?
Have we appreciated we are being offered to see the full truth?
Stepping out of comfort, we are being offered growth.
