I've always love cottage pie. But the ones outside always come with peas which i really dont like. I also like mine saltier and spicier! So the only solution is to make it myself loh. Haha!

Making the mash was the hardest part! I dont make it often so i dont wanna buy another equipment just for it. It was really backbreaking business making mash with a fork. But i did it nonetheless! Yay!

Here's a short and compressed video of the process. I also added in a tiny bit of indian pickles into the meat at the end to give it a more flavourful taste. But i had forgotten to record it. But it's an acquired taste, so that's optional.

I dont know if it's CB or motherhood, but I've been really experimental and inspired! Cooking is so fun! To be appreciated for it, is even more so! Hee hee

After the semi failed attempt of Japanese Dan Dan Mian, I've decided to try Sze Chuan Dan Dan Mian instead. It's a lot more complicated than Japanese version. But the taste is so good. A lot more umami and flavorful since it's thick sauce instead of soup. Highly recommend this for mala and spicy food lover.

First attempt at Japanese Dan Dan noodles. The taste was just fine but silly me, bought the wrong sesame paste, so the soup doesnt look thick and a little separated. But other than that, this noodle is surprisingly easy to make. I googled for the recipe. You can easily find them online. Its worth a try. Took only 20mins!

Broth

1 1/2 tbsp White Sesame Paste

1 tbsp Soy Sauce

1 tsp Vinegar

1 tbsp Sichuan Chili Oil

150 ml Chicken Stock

100 ml Soy Milk

Meat Mixture (serves 2)

Vegetable Oil

100 g Ground Pork

1 tsp Garlic Cloves chopped

1 tsp Ginger Root chopped

1/2 tbsp Tian Mian Jiang sweet bean sauce

1/2 tbsp Soy Sauce

Toppings

1/4 head Bok Choy

Sesame Oil

Sichuan Chili Oil
