在他們的教育和認知中 收入竟優先於興趣

感謝學弟在提問的時候有強調『提問時沒有冒犯的意思』 而不是酸溜溜的質疑
我執著於這個問題一週之久
然後請老師幫我向學弟妹轉達以下幾點：

1.我看過很多快樂的人 成功的人 都是追求自己熱愛的事物 發光發熱 同時藉此賺取生活費 因應社會 該職業的社經地位 也許高 也許低 但都是滿足快樂的�.
２.高收入的人不在少數 就以牙醫為例 難道是所有牙醫都有追求自己喜歡的事物嗎？都幸福美滿？身體健康？我想告訴你們的是：我從興趣中找到快樂和滿足 所以分享給你們 若非為了向升學關口的你們分享職業特色 我根本懶得提牙醫這塊 因為那不是我熱衷的事情 應該由熱衷於牙科治療的誰向你們口沫橫飛地說�.
3.錢是我們生活中的一部分 就只是一小部分 不是全部 也不是必要的 我們一定比上不足比下有餘 我個人喜歡往下比 因為更容易讓我感到滿足 往上比的話我可真窮 買不起豪宅 沒有跑車 遊艇 也不能任性地說不上班就不上班 說買奢侈品就買奢侈品
如果我們的水很多 可能可以裝滿大碗公 如果我們的水很少 可以換成一個瘦瘦高高的玻璃杯 也可以有一樣的水位高度 那代表著快樂和滿足的程度 在自己的能力範圍 盡該盡的責任 享受能夠享受的舒適 公寓 大樓 豪宅 別墅 各有合適的住客 然而都是一個安全舒服的家�.
最後要提 如果你的夢想是搭豪華郵輪 除了先攢足船票的錢 也可以應徵船上服務生的工作

I was in my alma mater, Kaohsiung Senior High School, to give a speech to the students.
I shared with them my philosophy of life and suggest them follow their hearts, live in the present moment, do not regret.
.
I told students who majored in music, to keep enjoy in music and to work hard with their beloved musical instrument, but be brave to quit if this was not what they did enjoy in. Maybe they were forced by the society, parents or anything. Now is the most early time to save the rest of theirs youth from such a burden.
.
I knew they did listen carefully, that’s why they asked me some questions.
Many of them got the same question, which made me astonished and a bit sad,
“Do you think being a dentist with high income is the key enabling you to be engaged in your hobbies?”
Does this question mean they believe one’s income is more important than what one is interested in?
.
I cared about this question so much for one week after the speech.
And I asked their teacher to pass on to the cute and young, and maybe perplexed, students as following,
.
1.I’ve seen many people who are happy and successful. They are devoted to what they love and get money for living from it. He or she might be rich or poor, upper class or lower class, depending on the definition of the society, but their contentment and joy cannot be defined�.
2. There are a lot of people with high income. Take dentists as an example, is every dentist looking for what he loves? Or happy? Healthy? I find my happiness from my hobbies, that’s why I share this with you. Dentistry should be shared by some dentist who are enthusiastic about dentistry, not me. I shared my occupation to you only because you are facing the college entrance timing.�.
3. Money is a part of our lives, a little part of our lives. Not the whole life, and not necessary either. We are richer than many people, and at the same time, poorer than many people. I would rather compare myself with those poorer than me, because that makes me feel better, and feeling is the most important thing for a person. When I compare myself with those rich men, I am nothing, I can’t afford a villa, a personal airplane, a yacht.
If we have a lot of water, we can fill a big pot. If we have little water, we can fill a thin glass and reach the same height of water level, which represents the degree of contentment.

用字遣詞的敏感度

特別敏感的時刻，我們的用字遣詞也要特別小心。今天的「閱讀筆記」，我們來看前一陣子轟動矽谷的事件：知名軟體公司老闆在部落格的一篇 po 文，讓三分之一員工離職。他到底寫了什麼？

📌 總結幾個重點：

1. 在敏感時刻，用字跟語氣，甚至可能比內容還要重要。

2. 用簡短無修飾的句子，會顯得比較強硬，較長而且有修飾的句子，反而比較溫和。

3. 主詞非常，非常重要。你用的是 I, us vs them，還是 "we" and "our"?

如果以後你在情緒高漲的時刻寫文，也不妨寄給英文好而且中立的朋友，請他們評估文字所帶著的情緒，會很有幫助。

📌 前一陣子，Basecamp 事件震驚美國科技/新創圈。

Basecamp 是一家團隊協作軟體公司，創辦人 Jason Fried 跟 David Heinemeier Hansson 一直都很願意為自己的理想及理念說話。他們寫的 Rework 一書影響了非常多的人，我在台灣認識的好幾位創業家都曾經跟我分享這本書。

但他們四月底在部落格上公告 Basecamp 一系列政策改變之後，引來非常大的反彈。

我第一時間就有去他們的部落格看他們寫的文章，覺得文筆非常好，而且是用說道理的語氣，很 reasonable。但發布不久，公司超過30%的員工，決定離職，其中包括好幾位高階主管！

What happened? 那篇文章，很顯然觸發了一個危機。我回去再把文章看了一次，發現天啊... 那篇文章的語氣，根本沒有我第一次看感覺的溫和。

很多魔鬼都藏在細節裡。

📌 主要的改變 = 工作時別討論政治或社會議題

讓大家最氣憤的政策改變，其實就只有一個：

No more societal and political discussions on our company Basecamp account.

在這個時空背景下，美國社會立場分歧這麼深，從左右派政治議題，到種族歧視問題，Basecamp 領導人大膽決定，禁止員工在公司內部的線上溝通頻道，討論社會及政治議題。

要去弄社會政治議題，可以，但請別在公司內。

📌 開頭還算溫和：說服大家把公司當產品看待

一開頭，Fried 就寫：

At Basecamp, we treat our company as a product. It's not a rigid thing that exists, it's a flexible, malleable idea that evolves. We aren't stuck with what we have, we can create what we want. Just as we improve products through iteration, we iterate on our company too.

Hmmm，為什麼要這樣開頭？為什麼要把「公司」跟「產品」劃上等號？

我們可以想像，Fried 肯定為了這篇文煩惱了一陣子。很多想法不斷的在他腦中盤旋，不同的開場，不同的句子...

但這個開頭，是一個很不錯的 framing：因為 Basecamp 的員工肯定很多 product fanatics - 就是最在乎產品好不好的 "builders"。Product lovers 的一個共同點，就是了解產品是會不斷改變的東西。如果說公司也是，就可以理解，公司也會改變。
然後，他非常小心的挑選最正面的說法。每一字每一句都是 product lovers 會認同的：

•flexible
•malleable
•evolve
•we can create what we want
•improve products
•iterate

用了一連串正面的同義字，就是要塑造 change = positive 的氣氛。

📌 連大改變，都用「改版」來形容

下一步，就是用一個大家理解的方式，來描述「非常大的改變」：

Recently, we've made some internal company changes, which, taken in total, collectively feel like a full version change. It deserves an announcement.

什麼是大的改變？就有點像「改版」的意思。而且注意到，他不是寫 "We're making a full version change" 喔，而是說："changes... taken in total, collectively feel like a full version change."
也就是說，在中間加了很多緩衝的字眼，淡化 "full version change"。

就像你如果要跟一個人說他是混蛋，哪一種說法比較直接：

The way you act sometimes, when people don't know you yet, can feel like you're a bit of an asshole. 或是 You're an asshole.

講完這個，他就要給大家打預防針了。

而且又是從「產品」開始：

In the product world, not all changes are enjoyed by all customers. Some changes are immediately appreciated. Some changes take time to steep, settle in, and get acquainted with. And to some, some changes never feel quite right — they may even be deal breakers.

哇噻，好幾劑預防針啊！

而且他用了三個意思差不多的字，鼓勵大家「耐心的習慣新的改變」：Some changes take time to steep, settle in, and get acquainted with。

Again 他的用字很細心。"Get acquainted with" 就好像跟我們說，

改變其實是我們的朋友，只要我們願意好好認識它。

但他們其實知道，有些改變是一些人完全，完全無法接受的。
所以才有最後一句："They may even be deal breakers"。
They totally knew what was coming...

📌 溫和就到這裡... 語氣開始轉變

接下來，他選擇美國人非常愛用的寫法，就是引用一位大家尊敬的人的話，來幫自己助陣：

As Huxley offers in The Doors of Perception, "We live together, we act on, and react to, one another; but always and in all circumstances we are by ourselves. The martyrs go hand in hand into the arena; they are crucified alone. Embraced, the lovers desperately try to fuse their insulated ecstasies into a single self-transcendence; in vain. By its very nature every embodied spirit is doomed to suffer and enjoy in solitude."

這裡藏了點玄機。

如果他的目的是說服大家接受這些改變，那為什麼要引用這一段！？

讀起來，這段話反應了他的心情：在做困難決定時的「孤獨」。如果是這樣，那這段話的用途就是「療癒」而不是「說服」。

因為如果目的是說服，為何不引用某個你的員工/讀者都非常敬佩的人的故事，這個人做了一個不受歡迎，但大部分讀者都會認同是正確的決定？

個人猜測：他上面好話已經寫完了。真正的意涵是：We're going forward, alone if necessary。

而且，他們還把自己的決定，frame 成 navigating somewhere，同時把另一邊寫成 circling nowhere

We all want different somethings. Some slightly different, some substantially. Companies, however, must settle the collective difference, pick a point, and navigate towards somewhere, lest they get stuck circling nowhere.

📌 語氣變的很硬：No More

然後他就開始寫改革本身。

如果把所有改變的第一句話看過去，會發現全部都是 "No more..." 開頭。這個硬到不行了。

早晨被一個夢打醒⋯
這個夢很有意思 代表我內心的渴求 狀態⋯有一陣子沒有這樣子有點複雜紛亂又清楚的夢⋯。

才知道今天是1月11日～1/11⋯❤️

在我生命中有兩個日子，刻劃很深的記號⋯11/1 和1/11～。我從來沒有覺得數字有什麼特別，但這兩個數字卻讓我永遠記得，紀念甚至感恩！❤️🌹🥰🥰

那是一段刻骨銘心很難明白的艱困過程，多年前1/11那個日子讓我跨了一個大門，有一點像是生孩子的過程，痛到你幾乎不想生，但是忍過那個最痛的階段，就是一個新生命的開始⋯，真的是如此啊⋯若沒有勇敢的跨過去往前走，我就看不到現在一片綠意盎然，充滿生氣的我的人生風景！所有的細節美麗和精彩啊⋯！

我曾經有一個經驗，很可愛很真實！轉換了我面對傷害的態度～！
特別傷你的人是你愛的人,特別難面對⋯。
有一次我跟主禱告，和著眼淚和氣憤⋯，在禱告中，我看見一個影像，就像電影一樣～那個傷我的人對著我扔石頭，但那石頭沒打著我，於是我撿起那塊石頭很生氣的回丟過去，扔過去時，覺得很沒力道手很輕⋯一看，我扔過去的，居然是一個麵包！我突然就噗哧的笑了⋯怎麼那麼沒力呀！連傷人都傷不到！🥰🥰這時上帝對我說，如果別人用黑暗用憎恨來對你，難道你回他的是一樣的嗎？你的心中有的是什麼呢？如果你有了我，你會知道要回應什麼⋯⋯

真的，我即刻從生氣到笑自己，這麼容易被激怒，因為我心中充滿的⋯真的不是這些，我可以給予的美麗和美好太多了⋯。

在黑暗中，唯有你自己成為光，才可以找出一條路⋯不要再等候其他的⋯。
你自己就可以成為光，你自己就是那個美麗！那個力量！那個智慧！那個勇敢！⋯只是你沒有找到那個鑰匙⋯甚至是你不想找～

最近有一個很深的體悟，不管你有多愛一個人，或者有人多愛你，不管你有多少人陪在你旁邊，你最終都是得孤獨的面對自己～靈魂的那一個你～如果你自己不能好好欣賞愛你自己，明白你自己是美麗的，你就沒有辦法自在和滿足～。

對於那些傷害與破碎，還有那些不明白為何傷害你的人～放了吧！
一句傷害的話都不用說，因為你更多的能量是看自己愛自己成為⋯美麗的那一個你～！使人看見你就開心就喜樂！好像吃到麵包那樣滿足！🥰🥰❤️🌹

I Waked up by a dream in the morning...
This dream is very interesting. It represents the desire ,my situation in my heart....It hasn't been a somewhat complicated and clear dream like this for a while.

蘋果派是我請朋友來我家時常做的菜式，所以特意選了這個來做和大家Q&A的影片。剛巧蘋果派的餡料由蘋果加入不同的香料如肉桂、丁香、八角和糖煮成，濃濃的香料味就像提示我們聖誕節快到了。
．
這個短片第一次用一邊做菜，一邊回答問題的形式表達，我在準備的時候就像一邊和大家閒談一樣，雖然我們之間很多也未有見過面，在這個影片的製作過程中又好像跟大家的距離拉近了。大部份的問題其實在message已回了，如果沒有放在影片裏請見諒喔，這是因為片長有限而我是隨意將問題放上去的，如遺漏了的請不要介意再給我訊息喔。

多謝大家對我的提問，你們所有的問題很有意思呢。如有機會真的很想有機會一起和大家做料理互相交流，想想已感到會是難得的經驗了。

製作蘋果派時有以下幾點可以留意喔。
．
* 牛油派皮在製作上，在角落的位置厚度比較難以弄得平均，如利用不同的模具壓平底部和週邊，可令派皮的厚度保持平均。
* 牛油派皮在多次擀皮後可能會軟化而容易付在保鮮膜上，如將麵團再放入冰箱/雪櫃一會，讓麵團變得硬一點又可再次塑型。
* 蘋果派餡用到大量的香料，如果家中沒有其中一款可以直接省去。之前我做的時後只用肉桂粉，今次加上肉桂枝和蘋果同煮，味道更香濃了。
* 在煮好蘋果派餡後可夾起同煮的香料，那便不會影響食感。

份量：直徑22cm烤盤

材料
．
蘋果批皮材料
．
中筋麵粉420克
砂糖130克
鹽一茶匙
牛油250g
雞蛋兩隻
．
蘋果批餡料
．
牛油10克
紅蘋果（小）6個
（去皮後淨肉大約600克）
砂糖80克
香草/雲尼拿精華一湯匙
肉桂粉3茶匙
檸檬汁一湯匙
肉桂枝一條
丁香兩粒
八角一粒
粟粉兩湯匙，用70毫升水拌勻
．
蛋液（掃上批面）材料
．
雞蛋半隻
牛奶/水半湯匙

做法
．
批皮
．
牛油從冰箱裏取出，待稍為放軟後，切粒。
牛油和砂糖放入攪拌機或廚師機，以中速(我家的廚師機最快為五度，這裏用二度）攪拌直至拌勻。
加入中筋麵粉以中速拌勻。
雞蛋略為打發後，分三次加入麵團內拌勻。
麵團形成後，分成兩半（批底及批面）用保鮮膜蓋著並塑形至長方型狀，以方便之後成批皮，以保鮮膜包好放在冰箱/雪櫃裏至少30分鐘至過夜。
．
麵團冷卻好後，從冰箱取出待略為軟化後，大約30分鐘，取出其中一塊麵團隔著保鮮膜用麵棍將麵團推開成大約0.5厘米厚批皮。
將批皮蓋在模具上，蓋著保鮮膜，用杯子或模具蓋平批底和週邊位置。放入冰箱，備用。
．
另一份麵團隔著保鮮膜用麵棍將麵團推開成大約0.5厘米厚批皮，?成一厘米闊的長條型，將麵團條做出辮子，做出網型並裁成模具合適大小，放在牛油紙上，放入冰箱，備用。
．
蘋果餡料
．
蘋果去皮，切成薄片。
在一個鍋子裏加入牛油10克，開中火，放入蘋果、砂糖、香草/雲尼拿精華、肉桂粉、檸檬汁、肉桂枝、丁香和八角，不時攪拌以防止結塊。
粟粉兩湯匙加入水70毫升拌勻，加入蘋果內，煮至沸騰。
關火後盛起，蘋果餡料可早一日準備放在冰箱內，令蘋果更有香料味。

組合
．
焗爐預熱至180攝氏度。
雞蛋略為打發，和牛奶/水拌勻。
批皮和批面從冰箱內取出，分別均勻擀開。批面擀開後切成一厘米闊長條，編成格紋。批皮放入模具，蘋果餡倒入批皮內，上面蓋上批面。
在批面掃上蛋液。
註：如麵團擀開後變軟，可放在雪櫃/冰箱中待略為凝固後才繼續製作。
放入焗爐以180度焗一小時，直至表面金黃。在週邊蓋上錫紙以防止燒焦。
蘋果批從焗爐取出後放涼，切件後享用。

Apple Pie
Baking tin with 22cm diameter

Ingredients
Apple pie crust ingredients
420g all purpose flour
130g granulated sugar
1 teaspoon of salt
250g of unsalted butter
2 eggs

Apple pie filling ingredients
10g of butter
6 small size apples (about 600g after peeling)
80g granulated sugar
1 tablespoon of vanilla essence
3 teaspoons of cinnamon powder
1 tablespoon of lemon juice
1 cinnamon stick
2 cloves
1 star anise
2 tablespoons of corn starch, mixed with 70ml of water

Other ingredients
1/2 egg
1/2 tablespoon of milk or water

Directions

Pie crust
Take out the butter from the fridge. Cut it into cubes.
Put the butter and granulated sugar into the blender or kitchen machine, blend with medium speed until it is well mixed. Add all purpose flour and mix well.
Beat the egg, put into the dough in three batches.
After the dough is formed. Split the dough into two. Roll the dough in rectangular shape. Cover it up with plastic wrap and put it into the fridge for 30 minutes or overnight.
Take out the dough from the fridge and let it warm for a while . Roll it to 0.5cm thick. Put the dough on the baking tin and cover with plastic wrap. Press the dough evenly with a mold or a cup. Put it into the fridge again and save for later.
Roll another dough to 0.5cm thick. Cut it into stripe and make the net. Put it on the baking paper and store in the fridge and save for later.

Apple filling
Slice the apple.
Put 10g of butter in a cooking pot. Turn on the heat to medium. Put sugar, vanilla essence, cinnamon powder, lemon juice, cinnamon stick, cloves, star anise and stir it to prevent it clogs.
Mix the corn starch with the water and put it into the apple. Cook until it boils.
Turn off the heat and cool down a little bit.
The apple filling can be stored in the fridge for later use or it can be used right after it cooks.

Assemble
Pre-heat the oven to 180 degree celsius.
Beat half egg and mix well with 1/2 tablespoon of milk or water.
Take out the pie crust from the fridge and put the cooked apple inside. Cover with another pie crust on the top. Brush with the egg wash.
Bake the pie for 1 hour in 180 degree celsius. Cover the edge with tin foil to prevent it burns.
Cool the apple pie in room temperate for a while after baking. Cut it into slice and serve.
