Thank you so much for including me in #scmp in a recent #healthandwellness article about #handstand and its benefits. Those who know me know that I love going upside down and I sometimes joke that I can balance on my hands better than in a #treepose 😅
In fact, handstand according to yoga is called #adhomukhavrksasana or downward facing tree pose, meaning handstand is like a tree pose but upside down - the body should be aligned in a straight line. It’s a great pose to improve #corestrength, #focus and to #conqueryourfears , not to mention to keep you youthful.

A lot of people are often intimidated by yoga..."I'm not flexible, or it's too boring, etc..." Yoga is the only exercise you can do when you are old in age. You must start now! It will be a immeasurable investment that will reward you greatly! But you must battle your own mind! once you've started you will continue making excuses for yourself. You must perservere.
Practise yoga, observe your mind and the way it thinks. Focus on the small details, the form of the posture. Starting out will be very challenging. Be patient... your body and mind will reveal more and more to you over time!

Tadasana/Mountain pose
~ adding fun: close your eyes ? and try not to wobble
Downward facing dog
~ adding fun: walking the dog ?(alternate heels up)
Plank
~ adding fun: forearm plank and rock front and back
Triangle
~ adding fun: close your eyes ? and try not to wobble
Tree
~ adding fun: close your eyes ? and try not to wobble
Warrior 1
~ adding fun: adding a mini back bend with cactus ? arms
Warrior 2
~ adding fun: core work - shift the upper body front and back, no change in the lower body
Seated forward fold
Bridge
~ adding fun: push hips higher, come up and down
Child’s pose
~adding fun: move side to side and place forehead down and massage the forehead by rolling the head side to side
In no particular order, these postures are great for a restorative, awareness, engaged muscles poses.
