My 5 lifestyle choices that – when adopted – can help protect and restore our oceans for our children and future generations.
💙DEMAND PLASTIC-FREE ALTERNATIVES
The oceans face a massive and growing threat from plastics. An estimated 17.6 billion pounds of plastic leaks into the marine environment yearly—that’s roughly equivalent to dumping a garbage truck full of plastic into our oceans EVERY MINUTE. And plastics never go away!
•bring your own coffee mug ☕️ for your daily fix
•bring your own utensils 🍴 and reusable straw
•only buy products in glass or plant based containers
💙REDUCE YOUR CARBON FOOTPRINT
• Ride a bike, walk or use public transportation rather than driving a car.
• Turn off the lights when you leave a room.
• Put on a sweater in the winter instead of turning up your thermostat.
💙AVOID OCEAN-HARMING PRODUCTS
•Don’t support cosmetics that contain shark squalene, jewelry made of coral or sea turtle shell, souvenir shells of conchs, nautiluses and other animals, and single-use plastics like straws and water bottles that can end up in our oceans. These products support unsustainable fishing and threaten important species and ecosystems.
💙 EAT SUSTAINABLE SEAFOOD
Choose seafood that is healthy for you and the oceans from well-managed, wild fisheries. We know it’s hard to know what fish are okay to eat, which is why you can turn to these helpful resources:
• Print or download a guide from Seafood Watch to help you make sustainable choices when you buy or order seafood, and learn about eco-certification of seafood.
I bought my seafood from @mncasia ,responsible seafood. They are MSC and ASC certified which mean they promote sustainability, traceability and seasonality.
💙 LEAVE NOTHING BEHIND
As beach crowds increase, so does the amount of trash left behind or blown away. Don’t let your day outside contribute to the destruction of our oceans. Remember to leave nothing behind but your footprints -- collect and dispose of your trash.
My family and I would pick up rubbish along our hikes and spent an hour at beaches to pick up trash while enjoying our day at the beach. 🏝

When in transportation an estimated 70% die due to stress (they actually make their system stop breathing) which is one of the biggest reasons I do not support aquariums. But I am also aware some of the animals are saved but being put into tiny tanks, to me doesn’t feel like saving them. To fish that are locked up stress is the number one killer. Fish are very sensitive, when they feel threatened (by vibrations, earthquakes, tapping on glass or flash from your cameras) they start to freak out and hit the glass.
That is why I am disgusted because they let WAY TOO MANY people in when they aren’t able supervise. The tanks are too small and that causes animals depression because it’s too different to their natural habitat. So please if you choose to go, be respectful. Do it for the animals that have no choice already but to be there.
For those who don’t know me. I am an animal lover and I always will be. I choose not to consume meat purely because I wouldn’t want another stronger species one day to eat my family and I believe in karma. But that does not mean I think you all should become vegetarian. I believe it has to come from your heart and I respect everyone’s choices. For anyone to say otherwise, maybe think again.
他們的痛苦值得人類的娛樂嗎?

ps just because I’m in a picture with oysters doesn’t mean I eat them. My friends are allowed to eat whatever they want and take pictures of whatever they want. If you think that’s wrong then you aren’t as democratic as you think you are.

What does ‘dampness in body’ mean?
Many Hong Kong folks often say they suffer from heavy dampness in the body, but what does it really mean? The dampness pathogen is one of the six evils in the Chinese Traditional Medicine theories (wind, cold, heat, damp, dryness, and summer heat).
Dampness refers to the stagnation of dampness in the body. If a person has had enough hours of sleep but still experiences fatigue, chest tightness, appetite loss, produces sweat that feels sticky; with loose muscles and plump-looking, has water retention problem, and produces loose stools that stick to toilet bowl, these symptoms indicate dampness in the body.
Eating raw and cold food, deep-fried and heavily seasoned food, having irregular meals and overthinking would disrupt the functions of the spleen and its transportation function, causing dampness to stagnate in the body, hence developing symptoms of dampness.
In order to get rid of dampness, make some changes in your lifestyle. Eat more food that will strengthen the spleen and eliminate dampness, such as barley, Chinese yam, black-eyed pea and poria; eat more coarse grains such as sweet potato, potato, rice, and Chinese yam; avoid eating food that are raw and cold, as well as those that are overly sweet and nourishing; exercise more often; massage Zu San Li acupoint on a daily; drink a cup of rice water daily to help strengthen the spleen and eliminate dampness from the body.
Zu San Li Acupoint
Effects: strengthens the spleen and stomach, clears heat and dispels dampness
Location: on the anterior aspect of the lower leg, four-finger breadth below knee cap.
Method: Gently press with your thumb and massage for 2-3 minutes each time.
✔Rice Water Recommendation: dawn rice water
Ingredients: Red rice, White rice, Coix seed
Effects: Reduces water retention, relieves abdominal bloating and improves yellowish complexion

Join me as we check out the first UNIQLO Roadside store in Malaysia!
They had a quick opening ceremony and the queue was crazy! Many people parked illegally by the roadside despite knowing they will have to pay for summon. My advice - take public transportation (free MBPJ Green Bus) or Grab & Taxi services!
