Likely our messiest yet most fun dance ever.

We spent our weekday morning cleaning up the house - it is usually very untidy - so as to surprise the Papa when he comes home later. Then we decided to reward ourselves and.... have an impromptu mum-and-kids dance session. The kids chose this track that has wrestling moves and we've never really danced to it together before.

It was fun jumping around, pretending to punch each other and running around in circles although half the time, we had no idea what we were doing. Watch on to see our failed attempt at rolling and jumping over each other. Haha.

I have a feeling I am gonna miss such weekday mornings which give us a chance to be carefree, relax and simply do what we want to. Stay home, stay happy. Enjoy the rest of the week before school reopens, people! ❤

My kids are supposed to go to bed at 9:30pm every night. But, they never do. Even if they go into their bedroom by that time, which is rare, they will be chatting or playing till they are too tired before they finally fall asleep.

We made an impromptu decision to dance tonight when they should be sleeping and ended up doing it for over half an hour because it was just so, so fun! #真不知道这个妈妈在想什么 #toostressedfromsoloparenting

Yup, it's been a while since I posted a video of our dancing so here it is. Swipe to the end for a surprise ending but be warned that their laughter is quite loud! I had no idea what we were dancing half the time yet when I looked back, it was plain to see everyone was happy and that matters most to me.

After the dance, we still read bedtime stories to wind down before finally going to bed. Oh well, I am indeed so terrible at routines yet I think this no-routine lifestyle works best for our family. That said, tomorrow still must wake up early. Haha. But we will.

Happy hump day, everybody!

P.S. They do take a short afternoon nap and so do I, if I can.I find it helps us to recharge before they wake up to do their homework or I start to make dinner. No right or wrong, just whatever works best for you!

P.P.S. Why was Meimei the one who piggybacked Jiejie? Cos' it was a couple dance and the big sister wanted to be the girl so the little sister gallantly said she will dance the boy part. Awwww. She is an awesome little sister for sure.

I had a one-on-one morning with the little sister today and we went for breakfast before heading home to.... exercise!

Yup, it's something we both enjoy and it's heartening seeing her smiles and hearing her laughter throughout. She would come over to give me a high five or a hug after every segment and I found that super sweet.

I used to think that it is hard for me to find time to work out after I became a mum. But now, I've realised all I need to do is to involve them, let them understand that I still have my own needs and wants or better still, find something we all love to do so that we can lead a healthy lifestyle, together.

P.S. Re-uploaded this because the previous video was a little jumbled up. For those who asked me, I wear this sports shoes only for indoor workouts so the soles are not that dirty. The kids usually wear non-slip socks only cos' they got no spare shoes ley. So we also clean the floor a little afterwards lar. Haha. A little price to pay for a good time together!
