今天到大姐家附近的巴刹採买,遇上了越来越少见的手工鱼丸。现在到处都充斥着工厂大量生产的机械鱼丸,难得还有人愿意生产这耗时又耗体力,还超不划算的劳力活。想起小时候看亲戚捏客家牛肉丸的情景,还真的有点感动。想到格格们长大后,可能再也见不到这种传统手工艺了。
老板告诉我,手工鱼丸是由黄尾鱼肉加海盐制成的,完全不加防腐剂,因此回到家放入冰箱后,第二天就是 expiry date 了。在御膳房,很多添加物和防腐剂的工厂鱼丸是不会出现的啦……
(忍不住偷偷告诉你,鱼丸老板女儿不但漂亮还知道格格便当哦!只是当下没有认出本母后。原来没化妆没PS....😱😱😱)

Came across a stall in market selling handmade fresh fish balls this morning. I grew up watching relatives making Hakka beef balls and this brought back lots of childhood memories.
The ingredients are yellowtail fish paste and salt. No preservative is added so it can only last till the next day. Store bought factory made fish balls are not permitted in my kitchen. If you prefer this over the factory made versions, pls visit the stall at Blk 58, Upper Changi Road.
