Today I had a really great chat with @kipchogeeliud during our leisurely 7 km run at The Peak Trail. As some of you might not know, Eliud is considered “the greatest marathoner of the modern era”. He is an Olympic Gold Medalist who won the marathon race at the recent 2016 games in Rio. And last year, he attempted to do something that no man has ever done - he participated in the #NikeBreaking2 event where he ran the full marathon (42 km) in a stunning 2 hours and 25 seconds, which is the fastest marathon time ever run (although, it is not an official world record due the circumstances in which the race occurred). But during our chat, I listened to all the dedication and devotion he puts into his work daily. He told me that he trained 7 days a week and ran almost 30-40 km a day for a period of 7 months. That’s almost like running a marathon a day for 7 months. Unbelievable. His work ethic and perseverance has inspired me to want to do the same in life, whether it’s related to work, family, or friends. Put in 100% in everything you do, and everyday work hard and live life to its fullest.

Thank you Eliud! You are definitely one of the most humble and friendly professional athletes I’ve ever met. Good luck to you, and I know you’ll be breaking the #sub2 mark in no time.
