The future might be uncertain, but there’s always light in the darkest places.

Today marks the beginning of tightened measures of #socialdistancing in Hong Kong: It is compulsory to wear a mask all indoor and public areas, it is illegal to have a gathering of more than 2 people, dine-in is completely prohibited in all restaurants. Not to mention the continued closure of gyms/yoga studios and many other businesses. And travelling overseas (which I used to do 3/4 times a month) seems to be nowhere to be seen. And oh yes, there’s political turmoil every day too in this city where I call home.

Some blame the government, some mope about the situation. It seems there’s no way out. But does it?

Yoga teaches us that nothing is permanent. In fact, impermanence is the only permanence in the universe. Good times doesn’t last forever, and neither does bad times. So hold on tight, because this darkness shall pass one day. And when one day when good times return, don’t be surprised that they too shall pass.

We came to the world with nothing and we will leave here one day with nothing. Don’t worry too much about what’s happening today. We will look back one day, 2020 was just a small blip in our lives.
